Good Point Lauren! I will try to upgrade. It seems like the Spa is so anal about everything whereas Rebeca seems really cool. Oh, well, not everything can always go smoothly I guess. Have you exercised today?
J&MWedding replied to destinationbride07's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Today was my 7th day in a row going to the gym - some days hard, and some days super easy days. Today, I ran mile and half and then did Kick class for an hour. tomorrow is spin. I figure I'm going out of town for three days and prob wont work out, so I might as well get all in now! PS. I don't know about you girls, but I'm actually planning on bringing my running shoes to my resort and using their gym in the mornings while I'm there! -

Yep, that's what I have too. Thanks Jess for that referral! Great job! I might take Lauren and the other girls advice then and maybe get a pedi before I leave, and just get a mani at Dreams. I REALLY want to make an appmnt for the Coffee Suduction Wrap, but even after using the $40 coupon, it's still $90 plus tip, so I'm not sure. I just scheduled my FI and mine free 25 min couples message (the one that comes with the package) - I schedule it for the day we arrive at night time, so we can relax after all the travel - should be nice.

What's your first dance song?
J&MWedding replied to DRbride's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
I think we might be changing our first dance song to the Proclaimers - "550 Miles" - it's faster so I've been trying to get my FI to practice dancing together. I don't think we are going to get dance lessons, I just don't want to spend the money at this point. -
Changed the location - From Isla Mujeres to Playa Del Carmen

have fun planning! I was actually looking at both those places for our honeymoon! I've heard nothing but good things! Congrats! -
I think the best way is to start with the first (home) page of the forum so see the layout and how each thread is divided etc. Then make sure to read the rules/regulations etc about how to get points, open attachments, post pics, post attachments etc - this is very important. Then, just start searching! Make sure to do a lot of searching before posting questions, because chances are, your questions are already answered and they are out there. Have fun planning! and don't stress!

Congrats! and good luck with your decision! I was very worried at first about having a DW and that not all my close friends would be able to go, but many of them are and from all the reviews I have read, there are no brides on here with any regrets! Have fun planning!

The Spa told me to book two weeks in advance, but that just doesn't fly with my obsessive compulsive planning (OCP) - so I'm probably going to book at around the two month mark. I'm trying to gather from all my guests who wants to get pedis and manis with me the day of etc and book everyone appmnts for that Friday. I figure I'm going to get my pedi the day before the wedding (many girls are getting theirs before they leave, but I think the sand on the beach won't help maintain the pedi) and then I'm thinking of getting my mani the day of because my nails chip easily. It's getting so exciting planning all these kind of details rather than invites, menu, songs, etc etc Quote: Originally Posted by Future Mrs. Griffith How far in advance are you girls booking your hair/makeup appointments??

I am wondering if that is a no no since they are fake? Thanks for the help. -Jen Jen, I don't know if you have read farther back in this thread, but I have mentioned a few times that Rebeca said we could bring whatever decorations we want from home and she will put them out at no charge to us. She told me she just wants them before the wedding day so she doesn't have bug the bride during that day. She seems very flexible to me. I'm bringing some decorations for her to put up, and I'm assuming rose petals for the aisle runner are fine. I thought the rose petals for the aisle were $30? Maybe that's for one bundle and we need more to cover the area. I figure I'll pay the $30 for whatever that gets me... Hope that helps!

hey girls, So I got information from the Dreams Spa in case any of you are missing it. I'm not sure if some of your guests rcvd a $100 coupon to the Spa - I know some online wholesalers have it...but, there are some details about how your guests can use those "coupons" The resort credits (100 for the Spa) can only be used towards massages, facials or body treatments, beauty salon services are not included in this promotion (that includes manicure, pedicure, hair) and they are not combinable, you would be able to use one coupon per treatment and since the credit is divided by 3 coupons (2 of $40 USD and 1 $20) you could use up to $40 USD per treatment. Then I asked her about timing about the manicure/hair/makeup - I'm planning on doing all of it there. They also said they can only take three girls at a time for any beauty treatment. A bridal hairstyle takes usually and hour and the make up about 40 minutes. A regular manicure or pedicure takes 30 minutes and the french usually takes 45 minutes. All of this info is current as of today.

Anyhow, they are pics of different styles of beach arbors with different flower/decoration styles. There are like 8 different options ranging from $180 - $300. When I asked the WC if these were included in my package she said "no." Should I be paying extra for this? Exactly what is meant by a "beach front arbor" at Dreams? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, -Jen Hey Jen, I believe what she means is that the packages at Dreams do NOT include decorations around the Gazebo or Arbor whichever you are using. It does include the ceremony table flower arrangement, but if you want any flowers around the Gazebo/Arbor, that is extra. Does that make sense? Chime in others if you know anything else!

Thanks for reminding me that the photog needs to eat! I think since I'm only having a MOH for my bridal party (that saves me $ on bouquets), that I'll prob still do the centerpieces. Lauren, I couldn't see your bouquets as centerpieces in your review/slideshow? I PM'd bride Sarah to email me any pics of her centerpieces too. ps. Lauren, I've read your review and checked out your pics tons of time! It gets me excited about going!!!!

hey girls, So if you have read any of my other threads, you know that I am big on customer service. I don't think I have high expectations, but realistic ones. I don't want any of you to order gifts for people and not receive them like I am having done with this web store. So, here is my story.... Back in July (yep, July) I ordered items ahead of time for thank you gifts for the women putting on my bridal shower. I just ordered the regular shipping time because I didn't need them until the end of September! They emailed me back immediately that my Terry Cloth Slippers I ordered were on back order and were to ship around 8/7/09. Fair enough, right? That didn't bother me. To this date, I still have not received my slippers and my bridal shower is Oct 3rd. I just sent them an email telling them to forget the order, refund my money, and that I would not be ordering anything else from them in the future. I was pretty disappointed because I do need to order more presents and now I have to find another vendor for them. Just wanted to give you girls a heads up if you do decide to order anything from this website - they take a long time - if you even get your order.

December 2009 Brides!
J&MWedding replied to *Nadine*'s topic in General Wedding Planning Information
not to switch gears, but.... I just rcvd my bachelorette party invite! It said, "Jill is Getting Married!" and it was weird to see that all typed up and emailed out. Isn't that weird?! I've spent so many days planning all my other friend's weddings, and now that it's my turn, it's weird to be the one NOT planning it. It really does make you feel special, doesn't it? This is going to be a couple of crazy months! I downloaded that excel spreadsheet someone posted that had the wedding checklist and I thought that I had plenty of time, and now I'm actually behind in a few items - not much, but still shocked me! -
congrats! welcome!

Welcome! make sure to check out the Jamaica section - I'm sure you can get all your questions answered there! have fun planning!
