  1. I'm in the same boat. She takes about 3-4 days to respond back to me. It might help if your fiancee does send one in spanish. I only have her email, no phone number. I just received my contract and have to wire her money, which is a hastle im finding....
  2. That's funny, "steadman to my oprah"... I didn't think my fiancee was going to propose either, he is in the middle of purchasing a new company so I thought he would wait until that whole craziness is over with. We were going to do Feb 2010 but i found Dec to be less expensive for our guests so that's why we chose that time. Also, I think im the only one of my friends with a wedding in Dec! You know what, I think I was opposite. I thought I knew what I always wanted out of a wedding - big hometown wedding, attention on me, etc etc, but once it came down to it, i really just wanted something unique and special with our very close friends and family. And I'm so busy being a MOH in may and bridemaid in June that it's going to fly by!
  3. The only reason I wanted to have my colors set, is because you can't begin to purchase the small stuff until you know what colors you're using. I was trying to order little things here and there, like favor tags, coasters, napkins, etc but I can't order them if I don't know the colors! So I definitely agree it is hard to decide but, yes, very important. Have you set a date yet!? I was just in LA last weekend, I live by SLO. It's nice for us living where we do, because the flights to PV are direct non-stop. yeah!
  4. Mary, that was a great price from River Cafe! Esp that it includes tax/service. Sorry if you mentioned this already, but are you inviting everyone? Im thinking I would and probably having about 40-60 people. That price is in my budget, but what did you decide for drinks? are you adding that on?
  5. Hi Mary, your quote from River Cafe sounds like a great deal esp that it includes tax/service! I am actually thinking I'm in the same boat, budget wise. I was just assuming everyone would be invited to the dinner, but I'm wondering if some people are just inviting the family/wedding party. I'm only having a MOH, so that's why I was thinking of having everyone at the rehearsal dinner which is why it makes my budget lower. What is your plan for the drinks for the dinner? have you decided?
  6. I'm hoping it's ok to post this thread twice, because I wanted to make sure my fellow PV brides saw it too! If you have not seen this website, you have got to check it out! It is for Wedding Color Inspiration Boards The Perfect Palette If you go on it today, you will see the first blog, Board #163 is my inspiration board! I emailed Chrissy and she had no idea about BDW and she is a bride herself. I thought she did a great job with my board and I love it! I highly recommend emailing her and letting her know what you want for your board! Her inbox has been getting sort of crazy lately so it might take a little bit for her to email it back. If you find inspiration from previous boards she has made, she can probably put something together a little faster...? (if this website was already posted somewhere, I do apologize)
  7. Hey Girls! You have to check out this website! If you go today, the most recent blog is my inspiration board that Chrissy just finished for me. Chrissy didnt know anything about BDW and she is a bride herself. I emailed Chrissy and told her what I was thinking about for my wedding and she put that inspiration board together for me. I do know she is getting a lot of requests these days, so it might take a little bit of time for her to get back to you but it's completely worth the wait! The Perfect Palette
  8. I feel the same way! Even though I'm not a 11/28 gal, I'm right after you girls. I remember when I was thinking, 'wow, i have so much time to plan and I can take my time' and now I'm thinking, "wow! time is flying by!!!!!" soon we will all be mrs.!
  9. Hey girls, have you asked Rebeca if she has some you can use for the centerpieces? I asked her if she had round vases for floating candles and seashells in the bottom, and she said she had everything so I don't have to bring/buy anything. There is a charge but it isn't as much as a full centerpiece costs.
  10. Im getting married at Dreams 12/04/09 and my TA also checked and they told her that the renovations were not going to be happening during that time. They made it sound like either they were going to be doing little by little or waiting until later in 2010.
  11. H&F, I agree, I can see the parents getting involved and wanting more and more pics.... Jenn, are you using an outside WC? I emailed Paulina how she wanted the deposit, but she hasn't gotten back to me....I'm thinking I want to just book her and get this checked off the list....
  12. Hi Mary, Can I ask approx price per person? Sounds like a great idea! I was thinking the same thing, I didn't want to take up too much of my guests vacation. I was going to put on our website a brunch the morning after the wedding, but decided not to because of this reason.... I'm still deciding what to do with rehearsal dinner. I'm going to have everyone just meet at one of the bars at Dreams for a welcome cocktail hour, but I keep going back and forth with the rehearsal.....
  13. Yeah, I agree, the most involved thing is to get all the travel arrangements to your family and get them to book their trip etc. I know there's tons of recommendations for TA's on here, I would definitely recommend contacting them if you haven't already. The wedding website shouldn't take too long if you use one of those templates. Good luck and congrats!
  14. Congrats Jenn!! Did they tell you when the renovations were going on? that is good news....I think. Can't wait to see your review! I didn't know we could get fire dancers at dreams?...
  15. H&F, thanks! I agree! (I was laughing when I read your response...) That is exactly what my FI said today, "how many pics do you really need?"....I mean, even if we only chose 100, that is still 100!!! I would probably only put up two in our house and just keep the rest in a photo album....it's so true what you said. Do you mind me asking how many hours you booked her for? I'm debating whether to do just 2 hours, or 4 hours?.... My FI thinks I only need 2, but I'm not sure.... My brother in low has an expensive camer that he is bringing and can also do touch ups with it, so that can be for later in the night pics after drinks etc. I'm excited that i did go ahead and ask Paulina for pricing!
  16. Jennifer, I just emailed Paulina and she sent me an updated price list. I was going back and forth between either using someone less expensive and for more hours, or using someone for less hours but that is just fantastic quality (like I think her gallery is). I hope someone does get back to us with recent photos! I'm getting married at Dreams too btw.... let me know if you hear anything!
  17. Thanks Brittany, I like your thinking. It sounds like our marriage license laws sound about the same. I'm thinking we will run down to the courthouse as close as possible to us leaving for PV, not tell anyone, (which will be hard), and just announce it at the ceremony in PV.
  18. yep, that's what my friend told me. It seems pretty easy too & We'll be there four days early already so.... We were going to have our best friend be the "officiant" during the wedding because he can really make the ceremony awesome since he knows both of us so well. I'm assuming the judge would do the legal "stuff" and then I'm wondering if our friend could still say a few things to add etc... I thought I read somewhere that Dreams would charge extra for that though....which I think would be silly.
  19. I just got my STD's from New & Blue (Wedding Invitations, Wedding Favors, Bridesmaid Gifts and much more! - NewandBlue Home Page) and everything looks great! I had to let everyone know because they were great to work with. After I rcvd my STD magnets, I realized that I needed the envolope carrier etc to put it in (you can't find them at the typical Office Max), and I paid extra for UPS 3Day shipping. They emailed me back the next day and said that to CA, UPS 3 day wasn't necessary (it only takes 3 days UPS Ground) and they refunded me the difference. I thought that was very kind and honest of them. Their proofing system is great too! Just very easy to work with, tons of options for magnets, inexpensive (I bought 100 magnets for $97 incl shipping), just had to put the word out!
  20. We were just going to do more of a symbolic ceremony in PV and run down to the court house literally right before we leave, but I'm starting to feel that if everyone travels to PV, that it would be more special to have the actual wedding legal there....My FI doesn't want to bother with it down there, but it seems pretty easy, and Dreams takes care of a lot of it I think. The only other thing is my friend said it was pretty expensive....do you have any info on the cost in PV? Thanks for the info!
  21. Nikkigard, are you getting married at Dreams too? The day after me?! I'm Dec 4, 09. Truth be told, we wanted Dec 5th, but it was already taken, but it actually works out just the same for everyone, so doesn't really matter! I just thought it was funny. I think I will probably go with Promovision, their prices are too good and I think their photos aren't bad, I bet a pre-wedding meeting will be good to explain what exactly I want etc.
