  1. I have this issue too. The business I am, your name is the most identifiable (sp?) thing. My FI doesnt like the business I'm in anyway so he could care less about me keeping my name. (It's a very demanding, time consuming business) I have decided that this is one argument I want to avoid so I will change my name. Because my business is named after my maternal grandparents and most people call me by their last name anyway it doesn't matter. I have to admit, this forum has brought up this issue again in my mind. After reading it, I'm like maybe I'll keep my last name and just add his legally but at work use my maiden name and he really doesn't even have to know. I can't do that though, it's just not right. Besides, we have three kids together and I'm tired of not having the same last name as them.
  2. Hello and Welcome. Do you know any Boudoir Photographers in Pittsburgh?
  3. What a horrible thing. And what type of example is she teaching her fellow McCain supporters??
  4. Your pictures were really nice. Congratulations on such a joyous event!!
  5. I think you should skip the STDs. I didn't do them. I ordered oversized post cards from Vistaprints (just completed my order tonight! Thank God! I actually only paid for the S&H with a special that ended tonight) and plan on sending those out as soon as I get them and sending message in the bottle invites to those that are actually coming closer to the date. I think you should consider going to a different resort. Dreams Cancun seems to be really nice. Have you seen the threads for the Dreams Tulum? You may want to check them out. You have to consider the guests you expect. How long of a notice do you need to give them so they can pay. In my situation, everyone already complained about us having a DW and the cost. So I am giving them almost a year to pay for their trip. SORRY, SO LONG WINDED!!
  6. These are so nice! You should be glad your mom convinced you to order them! Plus, I think the price is right, when I first saw them, they were like $12 and that didn't include engravings!
  7. I am finalizing my oversized post cards now. What is the turnaround on the items with regular shipping? Did you get the envelopes with the oversized post cards? I don't want to send my STDs oversized postcards with no envelope because I'm afraid they'll get dirty in mail.
  8. Hi, not interested in dress but how in the world did you get so many points already?
  9. Your dress is very romantic and it fits the destination. Did you find a store that had that particular dress in stock. I'm sorry if that was already asked, I didn't read through all posts
  10. Thanks for all the info. I'm a Riu Caribe Bride. Did you happen to go there? I have so many questions to ask you. I guess I will be asking you as I plan. How did your guest make reservations, through a TA or through riu? That's one thing I'm concerned about. Before I confirmed with Riu I was asking them about entertainment for guests after the wedding. They only kept saying you may be able to rent disco at Riu Cancun. No Prices! If you don't mind me asking, what was the addt'l cost? -Cachet

  12. Hey Diva, Hey Ladies, I am in the SAME position!! I don't know what I'm going to do. I have to be in Cancun 4 days before the wedding. There's no way in the world i won't be in the water! I thought my only option was micros but that's not me at all! I do like those invisible twist. My hair is short now but I was going to let it grow out. Diva, how short does your hair have to be in order for those invisible braids to look nice? Since the last post, has anyone found any solutions?
  13. I would go the day before. Are you getting something on your nails like gel, a wrap or acrylic? I think you'll be fine the day before but don't go any earlier if your getting it on your natural nail because I find polish doesn't last very long.
  14. Hello, Just wanted to know what Black women will be doing with their hair for their destination wedding. I will be in Mexico for 4 days before the wedding and I do plan on getting in the water. With that being said, I contemplated on getting braids. I'm not a braid girl but I don't know what to do. What are you doing?
  15. Ok, so it is false? That is so crazy. Even about her being pregnant the first time. Grant it, I know teenagers get pregnant but when you are the star of a Nickelodeon show playing a middle schooler, you have to understand that you are being looked up to. When she was pregnant the first time. I had to give my 8 and 5 years old daughters a little talk!
  16. Heather, Nice dress! Did you get your bridesmaids dresses yet? How in the world did you get so many people booked already? When did you send out the STDs?
  17. Ok, I went out Friday to try dresses on. I tried about 15 dresses on and narrowed it down to two. I had my mom take pictures of every dress I tried on. Can you believe she deleted all the pics except for the two I liked. She didn't even get the full dress in the pics. The dresses I like were part of a trunk sale so my daughters and I went back out Sunday and tried the dresses back on and took good pictures.
  18. I can imagine how you feel. YOU WANT WHAT YOU WANT!!! However, the color doesn't look that different and I think the towels look great in the bags. I think this is something you just have to be ok with them. They look really good. Bummer on the thickness though. I would complain about the customer service rep. There is no excuse for rudeness.
  19. You look very pretty in the dress. You look so nice that I didn't even notice your hair or the fact that you were holding the dress in the back. My eyes went straight to your dress. Girl you are wearing it, even if it's not laced up all the way. Your friend is indeed a hater. Don't you just hate those kinds? You don't even need to get the altering at the neckline. It looks great!!

Our tourist season here starts in December and November is at the end of low season. People earn much less money during low season so everyone in the tourist business is eager to please and start earning money again. In January and February it gets very windy and it gets cool. When you get both it can be pretty cold. The high winds can make for very challenging conditions for beach weddings. You need some luck to avoid the winds. I've had great weddings during these months. Your best bet is to bring the reception indoors away from the wind. March and April are the highest part of the season. Lots of tourists and lots of weddings. The weather is great but you should plan ahead for these months. The more private you can make it, the better. We got married last year at the beginning of May. I like May, it's hot but the nights are really nice. May and June are very busy for weddings and these are at the end of everyone's seasons. Everyone is working a lot during these months. Since weddings happen late in the day and the night, the weather is really good for outdoor events. Probably the least chance of a rain-out. In July it gets too hot and we usually get away until September. September and October are really nice months here for us, but it rains a lot so it's not so nice for weddings. It's a great time to visit though. Everyone is psyched for the new season and we get some perfect days weather-wise. And there is no competition for space. I am scheduled to be married 10/30/09 in Cancun. I read on the weather channels site that May and October were the best times to visit Mexico. If it rains, does the rain dry up fast like like the Carribeans and don't last long?

  22. I am including rates for double occupancy for adults and kids, the travel agent, my website, the ta's website and the resorts website. i also gave them a deadline for their first deposit.
  23. Girl, they should've been sent yesterday. Are you going through a travel agent for your guest? If so, I would have all that info on them.
  24. You can yell at me for not reading the comments but are your programs fans too? I love them. I wanted to use fans but didn't see anything creative enough. Can you send me the format?
