Yeah, spina bifida sucks! That's great that she can get around fine though. I also have issues with one calf, no limp though and I've never needed a brace. I just don't have as much muscle and can't jump as high on that leg. I'm training for a half-marathon though so I think that I'm doing pretty good all things considered, lol! Wow, it's really crazy to hear about everyone's surgeries! The girls who have never had to have one are so lucky! I can only imagine how scary some surgeries can be, like getting a breast lump removed and then having to wait for results! Sounds like we have a lot of strong ladies on the forum!
  2. We just bought FH's suit. We figured that it would be easier to find in the summer. We lucked out since Club Monaco was having a sale on white linen suits (FH wanted something a bit dressier but still slightly casual...if that makes sense).
  3. No worries. I was actually born with spina bifida and I had tumours growing on my spine so if they didn't remove them I would have become paralyzed. I'm really lucky to have had great doctors since my back is completely fine now! I know that a lot of people with spina bifida aren't so lucky.
  4. So I'm proud of myself! I quit procrastinating long enough to finish my manuscript! Now I can use the forum to procrastinate from doing laundry, lol.
  5. I've had three but one was a biggie. On my 6th birthday I had spinal cord surgery (great birthday present huh? I was in the hospital for almost 2 months!). It took me over a year to recover so I think that was even worse than the surgery itself! I do have a pretty cool scar though (according to my guy friends at least), about 6 inches long...they tell everyone that I was really in a knife fight and I won, lol. My second was eye surgery at 8 and third was wisdom teeth out at ~22.
