I think I am almost done with my save the date - boarding passes (with the help of the boarding passes thread. It is a pretty simple design but we both like it so far. What do you think? Should I change anything? I have bought some cover stock paper which is a little less thicker than card stock. Also, what else do I need? any special types of scissors? STD BP - simple.doc

I will be getting married in Las Vegas - July 28, 2009. I have not booked yet but plan to get married at the Chapel of the Flowers. I am excited because I just started on my DIY save the date boarding passes!!! I am ready now.

I think you should tell him what you want. I however was not able to pick out the ring I wanted. I had wanted to go ring shopping but he never did. I did at least tell him what style ring, diamond shape, etc that I liked since he never wanted to go. After he proposed, he told me he wanted it to be a surprise. He actually did good in picking it out. I was not exactly what I wanted, but I still LOVE it.

You will always have those members of each side of the family that will complain about the costs. One of the reasons why we are having our wedding in Las Vegas is because we do not want a lot of people to attend!!! For the ones that do, we have given them plenty of notice and understand if they are not able to come which is why we have chosen a chapel that can do a LIVE internet broadcast. For those that want to come, they will find a way!

I think you would be ok with just sending invitations. My wedding is in July and I haven't sent out my save the date cards yet, primarily because we are just now choosing an exact date. I am sending save the dates by the end of November. I will be sending formal invitations closer to time only to the guests attending the ceremony in Las Vegas.

For those of you that have been to the Firefly, is it a place that I would feel comfortable in a wedding dress? I have never been to a tapas restaurant before but I like the concept.

I think you will be fine. I was in my friends wedding last year and she had 3 BM and he had 5 GM and it looked just fine! I wouldn't add random people to your wedding party just to make the #'s even.

I agree with the previous suggestion. Since you all are on a private island, just have a girls slumber party. Maybe everyone can have a lingerie/night gown fashion show and help the bride choose some lingerie. Just be silly and have fun!

I recently went to a friends lingerie shower and there was a question that was brought up about how to do RSVP's. There were 8 people in attendance out of 23 that were invited. The invitations said to RSVP regrets only - because the hostess didn't want a lot of people calling her if they were attending and only preferred those that were not coming to call. Well she said that she ended up not getting any phones calls one way or another. I would have been a little disappointed if only 8 out of 23 people attending my shower but what is the appropriate way to know who will and will not attend? RSVP regrets only or RSVP if attending?

There are a few websites out there that I know of that guests can contribute toward you honeymoon like honeymoonwishes.com like someone else said but I haven't seen anything out there that guests can contribute towards the wedding.

I have heard good things about Firefly. How was the atmosphere in the restaurant? Will I feel comfortable there in a wedding dress?
