  1. Thanks for the tips. I was thinking of putting sunscreen but I guess guests will be packing this already. Jess

Erika, we must have been on the same wavelength. I bought my FI's ring this weekend and we picked out my setting. I'm not having a band but I am selecting a new setting for my stone. I've had my eye out on a ring made by Tacori and I have finally decided to move forward with the purchase. The jeweler is suppose to phone me on Tuesday for prices. I can't wait!!!
  4. I was just wondering what the others brides were doing for the actual set-up of the reception tables. What color of linens are you using? Also, are you renting chavari chairs? Is so, what color? Jess
  5. Everything looks great!!! I love the colors!!! Jess

He suggested that we get sand from each of these places and combine all that sand for our sand ceremony instead of doing colors so it's really all the pieces of our life coming together as one. I thought it was the sweetest thing to have it be that personal and love the idea. And this way we don't have to buy anything except a holder (which btw does anyone know where to get a sand frame?? I've seen some people on here use it and I like the idea better than a vase)!! Woohoo another thing off the list! This is a great idea!!!! It's make the ceremony more special and personal. Jess

I will have orchids and crystals hanging from the willow. I'm going to soft colors such as white, light pink, and yellow. Hope this helps.
  8. The pictures came out so good!!! I'm still working on losing a couple of pounds before I work up the courage. Jess
  9. This is a great thread. Thank you for posting. I love your BD album!!! Jess

Tammy, Yesika has not told me about any fee for outside vendors. When is this effective? Jess

I was thinking I should have the trio there like 15 mins before to play for people while they wait....I have no clue! I hired a mariachi group to play 15 mins before the ceremony and about 30 mins into the cocktail hour. Then DJ Mijares is going to take over and play the guitar. Jess
  12. I was wondering what reception location other brides where using. Can you please share?
  13. I never thought of a cruise. Do you have any additional information that you can share? Thanks!!!

With that in mind, although there is lots to see in Athens, I would definitely try and get off the beaten path and only stay in Athens for a day or two. Athens is VERY crowded and actually a little dirty to be honest, but it's worth seeing the sights. Once outside of Athens, the countryside and beaches are gorgeous!!!! I also recommend the Isle of Capri in Italy. The last time I was in Greece we first flew into Rome and spend a few days in capri and ferried over to Greece. I've never been to Bali, but Capri is the most beautiful place I've ever been. I think it depends what you're looking for though - a tropical island getaway (Bali) or some European culture and tourism (Greece). I have to agree with you on Capri. I've been there before and it's just amazing and so beautiful!!!! I think for a honeymoon I was just looking for something beautiful to wake up to every morning and enjoy the sights without having to deal with lots of people and traffic. Jess

I know I wouldn't go to Crete or Zakynthos-I was in Zakynthos last September for my friends wedding...didn't like it that much to be honest. We stayed in Tsilvi and spent 2 weeks driving around to look at all the other towns...not great . Kefalonia is where the Nicholas Cage film, 'Captain Corelli's mandolin' was filmed so if you want to see it, rent the movie If you choose Bali I believe Nusa Dua beach or Ubud are the spots to look at. Go on Tripadvisor and go to Bali...it will give you the hotels in order from best to worst as reviewed by regular people. I live by it, esp for photo's! I think you will get MUCH better quality in Bali. Unfortunately, Greece is the only country in the world that I have travelled to where the 'star rating' does not equal anywhere else! We have always stayed in 4* Hotels & they really do not compare to 2* back home. The Greeks rarely do 'luxury' the way we know it. Their plumbing systems on the Islands is terrible-be warned or be prepared!! LOL!!!! Try tripadvisor for both countries & see which you like the look of more! Hope this helps! Nickola Just an after-thought...but while in Greece we have met many people from The States that are Island-hoping. 3 or 4 days in one place, then another, then another. Lots of the islands are reachable by ferry! If you get a good TA this should be an option for you! Thank you for the feedback!!! Greece is somewhere I have always wanted to go but after reading your note above I think I might be leaning towards Bali. For a honeymoon, I want to feel pampered and have a nice hotel room to enjoy. Jess
  16. I feel that I'm right on track. The only things that I have left to do is: -Buy shoes and hairpiece -Day of the wedding stationary -OOT bag goodies -Finalize music selection I think 4 months is enough time for me to complete these tasks. I don't know about you guys but I'm not really enjoy the engagement period per say. I look forward to the actual wedding day!!!!
  17. I just booked my hairsylist. I'm using Suzanne Morel in Cabo. I seen her work and I'm excited that she was still available. Jess

I can't imagine that!!!
  19. I'm with Michelle. I'm not big on bright colors for a wedding. I went with mocha and soft yellow. At the end, I just want my pictures to look good. Jess
  20. I haven't seen this but it does sound fun. I'm not sure if this would be fit for a wedding where guests do not know the area. Jess
  21. What hotel are you getting married at? Often hotels offer theme nights that you can select from for you guests such as casino night. As far as boats, I am not aware of any boats leaving San Jose. I think that the drive from San Jose to Cabo is about 40 mins. Jess
  22. We are going to be staying a total of 10 days in Cabo but we are not counting this as our honeymoon but more like a family reunion. We plan on going to a honeymoon three months after the wedding!!! Jess

If you want a completely unique holiday,go bali! If you want something quite similar to home then Greece is the spot! If you want any further info on Greece let me know...not that i'm as good as a travel agent or anything, but it is only 4 hour trip from home for me, My mother lived there for a few years when she was younger, and even my name is spelt in Greek! Hope you are able to narrow it down! Nickola Thanks for the response. Where do you recommend that I should go to in Greece? I know for sure I would want to visit Athens but I'm not sure which island I should go to. I was thinking of Crete. What do you think? Jess

There are so many amazing hotels that they all look very appealing. Jess
