  1. Thank you so much for the feedback on the pictures. The bridesmaids dresses are Melissa Sweet dresses. We got them from a local boutique in Raleigh, NC but they have them a lot of different dress stores.
  2. Thank you so much. I ordered the maracas from a lady in Mexico. Her company is called Mishka Designs. She was wonderful to work with and it was very easy! I sent her a picture of my invitations that were designed and made by Sarah Sprouille and then they came up with a design. I recommend the both of them!
  3. The flowers in my hair were just small white orchids that I requested from the wedding coordinator at the resort.
  4. The cylinder vases were provided by the resort. We also used the sashes from the resort. We were going to get our own sashes to take down with us but we already had 14 suitcases as it was and couldn't worry about putting one more thing in.
  5. The bmaids dresses are mellisa sweet dresses. We got them at a boutique called bella bridesmaid.
  6. I actually just requested to have small orchids from the resort and they brought them to me at the salon. Then the stylist just pinned them in
  7. Thanks everyone! We really did have an amazing time! The ceremony was on the beach by the seaside grille, the cocktail hour was on the lobby terrace and the reception was at the seaside griile. We brought down the majority of the decorations: Candle holders (the shell ones) were from zgalleri, We tool woven brown bead placemants to put under all of the cnterpieces (from target) The blue paper around the vases were from. Mihaelscraft store and Anabel just glued them on for us, we brought down the paper flowers to hang from the ceiling, and we had maracas hand painted by midhka designs in Mexico. I think I answered all of the questions

  9. We just received our slideshow of our wedding pictures and we are so excited! Claudia Rodriguez did an incredible job and we couldn't be any happier! Claudia Rodriguez | Wedding Photographer | Shannon & Michael | July 31th 2009 | Dreams, Tulum Mexico
  10. Claudia is absolutely amazing! She truly made our wedding day wonderful and our pictures just show it all! I would recommend her to everyone. She is so easy and wonderful to work with and all of my guests enjoyed having her and her brother at the wedding. Here is the slideshow of our pictures! THANK YOU CLAUDIA! You are incredible Claudia Rodriguez | Wedding Photographer | Shannon & Michael | July 31th 2009 | Dreams, Tulum Mexico

I so wish we had done a casual photoshoot on the resort with our photographer. Thanks SunBride. It was def. a casual photoshoot. We felt really bad because we were trying to rush the photographer the whole time because we weren't really planning on using him at all. So we told him that we didnt want him to come to the dinner, so we just gave hime about 30-40 minutes to do pictures because we wanted to get to dinner with everyone. I wish that I would have realized that they actually took good pictures because I would have asked them to come to the dinner and the actual rehearsal but oh well. Plus because of Natalia's schedule and the other coordinators, we werent able to have the rehearsal until 8:30, after dinner and everything else. So I don't know if he would have stayed that long without being paid more.
  13. I am back from my wedding and honeymoon and will start working on my review soon, I promise. But in the meantime I wanted to give you all the link to the pictures that we have so far from the week of the wedding. We created a site on shutterfly.com yesterday so people from our wedding can upload their pictures, download pictures they want, and order prints that they want. There is an album on the site that is rehearsal dinner pictures that the photographer from the resort took. I must admit we hired an outside photographer (Claudia Rodriguez) for the wedding because we didnt know just how good the resort photographer would be but let me just say... WE WERE AMAZED by the pictures that we got from the resort photographer for the rehearsal dinner. All of the pictures on the site are just regulalr colored ones but he did an amazing job of changing some of the pictures to black and white and sepia tone and he printed those for an album that we got. I hope that you enjoy looking at them and as soon as I get pictures from Claudia Rodriguez I will post those. Here is the link: http://michaelandshannonpageswedding.shutterfly.com/
  14. Ivan was an absolute pleasure to work with! He was extremely organized and so professional. When I mentioned to my father that we would be hiring an outside DJ to come to Dreams Tulum to dj the wedding, he was a little worried and skeptical but after meeting Ivan at our meeting he was absolutely amazed by his professionalism. Ivan had all of our emails and information straight and had gotten all of our music together for the wedding. Needless to say my Dad was so excited that I had done all of the research to find an amazing DJ in the Riviera Maya that would do a great job at the wedding. Ivan arrived early in the evening to prepare for the wedding and was very flexible when we decided to switch things around last minute. I cannot speak highly enough of Ivan and his assistants. They made our wedding truly amazing and everyone had the most wonderful time. He kept everyone dancing and the time flew by way too fast. Our guests were talking about him for the rest of week and wondering how we found such an incredible DJ! I cannot thank him enough for making my wedding reception perfect and showing our 50 guests how people in Mexico can dance and party!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH IVAN! If you are looking for a great DJ please contact Ivan because he will do such an amazing job
  15. Good morning everyone, I just wanted to let everyone know just how wonderful Dreams was! It was absolutely incredible and just like everyone has said in the past, they take care of everything and anything that you could imagine. We had 52 people come with us to the wedding and absolutely no one had a single complaint through the whole week. Their only complaint was not wanting to leave. I am at Secrets Maroma Beach now and loving every moment of it. I will post a review and photos when I get home next week. Again...absolutely no stressing is needed because once you get there everyone takes care of everything!
  16. So I am getting extremely excited and nervouse because I am packing things up and I leave on Saturday morning. I cannot believe that the time is here and it has flown by! So thank you to everyone for all of your help and ideas. Hopefully everything that we have packed will make it safely to Mexico and hopefully the resort lives up to all of the expectations that everyone has set:) Thank you all again and I will let you know how it goes!

I think that should totally ease your mind of worries regarding the things I encountered! Thanks - I'm glad you liked our planning thread! I found those to be so helpful. I had emailed our wedding coordinator the pics of my preferred bouquet (below) in my wedding form, but they really didn't do anything with this info. When I showed Anabel the copies that I had brought during our meeting, she seemed to be looking at the for the first time and hadn't contacted the florist by that time or anything. She told me that the flowers in my bouquet pic were very expensive, so I just told her that they could use whatever flowers were local and in season, but to try and mimic the bouquet pic as much as possible (particularly the colors). I really liked it in the end, but wish it had been a tad bigger. We didn't have to pay any extra beyond the package for it, though, so that was good. I know there were some type of small orchids in it - the small ones that you can see on my husband's boutinneire and in my hair. She never called them by their actual name - just "small orchid" - so I'm not sure exactly what they are. Here are some better pics of the flowers in my hair, and in the bouquet. As for the private event fee - I think you're right, but I can't speak from experience because we didn't face any of that. What type of flowers did you ask for for your hair?! I love them!!!
  18. Hey everyone, So I am having the hardest time trying to figure out what to include on my programs. My main problem is that since I am just doing a civil ceremony (not legal) I am not sure what exactly they will do. Could anyone tell me what they have included in theirs? Thank you so much:)
  19. Lindz... I am so excited for you and Matt and I wish that Michael and I could make it to see your wedding! We will be so excited to hear all about it and to see your pictures. I still think it is so crazy that we are getting married at the same place:). I hope that you have a wonderful week and I know that you will be an absolutely beautiful bride! Congrats!
  20. Thank you all so much for posting all of this! It has really helped me get my playlist started!
  21. I am in the process of trying to decide exactly what I want my centerpieces to look like and I was wondering if anyone had any problems with the resort not being able to get different types of vases. Do they give you any options or did you have to bring your own?
  22. Your pictures are beautiful! I loved your tables at the reception. Did you buy the table runners and take them with you or did they have them at the resort? if you bought them, do you remember where you got them from? Thanks:)
  23. Hey ladies, I have been searching the site today trying to find the forum that talks about the ceremoney readings and vows. I stumbled across the forum a few months ago and liked a lot of the things that I had read in there and now that I need it, I can't find it. Some people had absolutely wonderful readings and vows and I just need some inspiration. If anyone has seen it lately or can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
  24. Hey ladies! So I wanted to give you all and update on the cost or the tiffany chairs... I emailed Anabel about 2 or 3 weeks ago asking if the price was still $6 like it said in my original Guide. She responded tonight and said they are $18 now.... That's triple the cost!! I am amazed how they change their costs on everything so frequently and without consistent answers.
