hey ladies! I have a food question for any of the past brides that are still around....i have the gold menu and was thinking about choosing the "vanilla puff pastry cake with cognac sauce" for dessert. Now my question is...is it really like a cake or is it more of a cream puff?? if anyone had this as their dessert, please let me know what you thought of it. If it's a cake than I don't think I want it since we are also having a wedding cake.

second guess your dress?
jerzygirl85 replied to MsAmErika's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I definitely felt that way!! I ordered my dress in May and it won't be ready until January. About two months ago I started freaking out thinking I bought the wrong dress and I was looking at other dresses that were sooo beautiful, but my moh, SIL and mom all said stop looking at other dresses, the one you picked is gorgeous. Which of course made me feel better for a while. But i was able to "visit" my dress (well the sample of it) at the bridal shop the other day and i just fell in love with it all over again! -

MOH preggers?
jerzygirl85 replied to jerzygirl85's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
thanks everyone! I only have one other bm which makes this a bit easier. I was thinking about just giving them a color and letting them choose what they want. I found some really cute dresses by B2 which also make maternity dresses. Thanks Morgan for all the info! -
My sister is my MOH and has told me that she wants to have another baby! Which is fine by me but I'm a bit concerned about what dresses she will be able to wear. My wedding is in April and assuming she gets pregnant this month, she will be about 6 months pregnant. She thinks she will be okay to wear something with an empire waist. I have never been pregnant so I don't know how big you get when your 6 months pregnant. Do gals think an empire waist will be okay? anyone else ever had a pregnant bm/moh?

Bridesmaid Dresses
jerzygirl85 replied to SDbeachgirl's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
you can look into some dresses by B2. They have some really cute styles that come in a bunch of colors. Also most dresses that are floor length can be made into cocktail or teal length at no additional charge. -

Rehersal Dinner is it a "MUST"
jerzygirl85 replied to **~Linda~**'s topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I don't think a rehearsal dinner is a must for a DW. We are having a rehearsal with just the wedding party so we know what to do and where to stand during the ceremony. Instead of a rehearsal dinner we are chartering a catamaran and taking everyone snorkeling and swimming for a few hours. I think if you just have a welcome cocktail party that is enough. -

I have been talking to ALL 3 wedding planners and they have never really mentioned this option! If you can give me all the info you have on this option for dinner, instead of paying the $55-65 extra pp that would help us out sooo much!! Thanks Girls!! I am going with the ultimate package so I am paying $65 a head after the first 20 people and am planning to have my reception by one of the pools. I am not being charged extra for a second entree. I may be mistaken since I didn't really look into the $20 option, but I thought if you used that option, you are ordering off the regular restuarant menu when you are seated to eat. The $20 pp fee is really just a service charge, so anyone can order whatever they want. Again, I could be wrong about this. Also, the more than 1 entree deal is really not something they advertise. I think they would prefer not to do it. But if you want more than 1 entree, than definitely ask!!

Hi everyone. DT is letting me have 2 entrees at my reception as long as I give them a head count of each before hand. Now I know that some past brides have also been allowed to do this as well. I am just wondering, how do the waiters know which guest gets what entree Can any past brides let me know how this was handled? Thanks

Thanks This is what I am planning....my ceremony is supposed to start at 4pm after that I will be taking pics with my guests, family and then some solo shots of me and my FI around the hotel. My photographer said to block about 1-1.5 hours for the pics, so my cocktail hour will start around 6 or 6:30 (i want to go to it which is why i am starting it late) and then the reception at 7 or 7:30. As for your photography package, that is completely up to you. I have a full day package so I don't need to worry so much about the time.

we are having a church ceremony/legal part before leaving to Mexico. It only be the two of us plus the priest and a witness is necessary. We really aren't telling anyone about it since they would all want to attend. It may sound mean but the whole point of a dw is to have people watch you get married "away".

Tipping etiquette
jerzygirl85 replied to Ryan's girl's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
this is a great thread as all of us need to leave some sort of tip to vendors. I am planning on getting tips ready in an envelope with a thank you note for the photographer, dj (if i hire one), mexican trio and musician for the ceremony. I will probably just give tips for the girl that does my hair, the wait staff and bartenders. I am not tipping the WC since Dreams adds that to the package price. I may only tip her if she goes beyond what is necessary. I am not sure about the minister yet. -
giving oot bags!
jerzygirl85 replied to t&kJanuary2010's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
My guests are arriving on different days so i'm thinking about asking the front desk to hand them out as each guests checks in or will notify guests that we will be at a certain bar everyday at like 4pm and hand them out there. I originally thought about meeting each guest when they check in but I really don't want to be looking at the clock all the time. I just want to relax! -
Ok so I am signing my contract and sending in my deposit for my bd shoot with Kamila Harris! I'm excited but nervous at the same time and I need to figure out how I am going to keep this from my FI since I have a hard time trying to hide things from him lol! Now I need to find some cute little sexy outfits and find the courage to pose in front of the camera! Someone get the shots ready for me

There are no minimum required days for symbolic ceremonies since it is not a legal ceremony. You should probably get there a few days in advance though to meet with the WC to go over what you want and pay, etc.
