  2. This is a question for any past brides that got there make up done at the spa....do you know what brand of make up they use? I am not a make up person, but I do want to look flawless on my wedding day! I was thinking about going to the MAC counter at Macys to look at stuff. Do girls think it would be better to bring down my own make up for them to use or just use their stuff. I'm scared of getting a bad reaction on my wedding day
  3. My WC also has a service fee added of 15%, I don't know if that 15% actually goes to her or the hotel so I may give her some money anyway. I was also planning on tipping the DJ, waitstaff, the girl that does my hair/make-up. Kelie, I also have a "mexican trio" playing at my cocktail hour and it didn't even cross my mind to tip them, I guess I should. By the way I love you save the date.

  5. i think we finally decided on Love Me Tender by Nora Jones. It's originally an Elvis song.
  6. I know many of you have bought a second dress for your TTD. I don't want to use my wedding gown for my ttd since it's going to be pretty heavy when it gets wet and I just don't want to ruin it. I also want to use the same ttd dress for my church wedding before we leave for mexico. So my question is, what stores did you buy your second dresses from? I've looked in bloomingdales, macys, lord & taylor, etc. but haven't found anything yet. I don't want to spend more than $150-$200 bucks on another dress.

If anyone wants to buy them after my wedding, let me know. i just checked quickly online and it looks like it will cost about $11 bucks or so to ship. So if you want all of them, I'll sell them to you for $35?

You may be able to see some pics of the set up in my planning thread =) I am thinking of having my reception by the dolphin pool. I originally thought the adult pool but i don't want to hear the nightly entertainment which I think is by el patio. I am having 40 guests, do you think there will be enough room for tables and dancing by the Dolphin pool? I also hired DJ Doremixx and got the light up dance floor. Will there be room for a dance floor or should I just get rid of it?
  11. Angie, I wired the deposit to my DJ thru Western Union. I wasn't able to complete my transaction online though i had to go to a western union rep. But everything went smoothly with them.
  12. so i have three months left!! I remember when i first found BDW and my ticker said 1 year and 6 months!! Time is flying by! I hired DJ Doremixx and got the dance floor. I am thinking of having my reception by the adult pool or dolphin pool. Does anyone know if there is room for a dancefloor by either of them

  14. i'm still waiting for my teasers!! i hope she sends me a few soon!
  15. For my shoot, we started at 11:30 and I was out by 1:30. The shoot itself was probably about an hour, but i had to wait a bit to get my hair and make up done.
  16. Here are the links to the catamaran websites. There are different prices depending on the amount of people. I never heard back from the last company, Cancun Catamarans, and i just noticed on their webste that tours are non-refundable once you reserve so i rather not go with them. Reserve Your Mayan Riviera Tour Online with Paradise Catamarans Private Catamaran Charter in the Riviera Maya
  17. ok...so i just got back from my shoot! I hired Kamila Harris and she was absolutely great to work with! She directed me how to pose and showed pics as we went along. The only thing I did not like was my make up. The girl who did it just put too much foundation and made my eyes to dark. I told her before we started that I never ever wear make up so i wanted something natural. She said that the eyes would need to be a little dark so that it could show up in the photos. I am waiting for teaser pics and i really really hope that i look ok. I am scared that my FI may not like the photos because of the make up
  18. ooooo....love it!! I'm not sure if it will fit me, i'm around a 6 street size. I need to find a dress for my legal day and TTD!!

I received an email from Anabel about the prices for vases. (I think someone a few posts back wanted to know about this). Hope this is helpful. A small vase is $12; large vase is $16 Candles are $6 each which I think is crazy! Steam with orchids (submerged in water) $18 each

I know you can add it on through Dreams, but I think it's around $800. Ouch! Also, has anyone thought about renting a catamaran for guests? Maybe the money I save from not doing the Ultimate package I could put towards a catamaran. It is so important that my guests have a great time I'm having trouble deciding which would be a better use of money. Any input much appreciated! I am planning on taking my guests out on a catamaran the day before the wedding. I have looked into booking through cancun discounts, Paradise Catamarans or Cancun Catamarans (i am waiting to hear back from them one a quote).

Great review. Thanks for being so detailed. After reading it though, I am beginning to rethink going with the ultimate package.

  23. What kind of gifts are you girls getting your bridal party? I only have 2 girls so I wanted to get them something nice. Here are some of the things that I still need to do: - Call people who rsvp'd yes but haven't booked (this is probably what has stressed me out the most) - Make a list of Must Play and Must Not Play songs for the dj - Buy my wedding shoes and garter - I need to book the catamaran execursion we are taking our guests on the day before the wedding - Buy bridal party gifts - Finish ceremony/vows - FI needs to look for and buy his suit! - I need to find a TTD dress - Print out menus and place cards I know there is more, but that's all i can remember at the moment.
  24. did anyone tip the photographer? I am wondering if I am supposed to. I am planning to tip the girl who will do my hair/make-up $20.
