I wanted to do a bonfire but it doesn't sound like that is an option any longer Also, I am not sure if this has been answered lately, but does anyone know what the nightly schedule of events is? i.e. Mexican and Caribbean fiestas, fire dancers, etc. I am getting married on a Saturday and was told by the WC that the fire dancers are on that night. I think someone once mentioned that the Mexican fiesta was on Fridays.

Hi ladies!! For our ceremony FI is wearing a tanish suit with a white collar shirt and a white rose boutenneire. He has asked his groomsmen, there are only 2, to wear khaki pants and a white button down shirt. Should I have the groomsmen wear boutennieres? I am thinking it might look kind of silly to have a flower just pinned onto a white shirt instead of a suit jacket. Any thoughts??

Does anyone have any thoughts on this- Buying numerous Floralytes (Cheap LED Party 'Floralytes' $1.34 Wholesale LED Submersible Lights) and putting them in little glass candle holders, then filling the candle holder with crystal fibers or diamond vase filler... Think this is a good idea for lighting, or stupid/waste of $ idea? Am I thinking too much into the lighting situation?? I'm having my reception at the adult pool as well. I hired a dj who is bringing some of his own lighting for the booth which may help with the lighting situation. Also i think they can set up lights around any nearby trees. The luminaries don't really help but they do create a nice ambiance around the reception area. I was thinking of making my own little floralyte things and putting them in paper lanterns, but i just didn't feel like spending the money or the time on it.

Do you guys know of any outside vendor fee (vendors other than photographers)? Chair bows... I'm looking for 20 chair bows for the ceremony...in either blue (tiffany or slightly darker) or chocolate brown... where can I find them? Drapes/Fabics for the gazebo... Is anyone selling theirs or giving it away (good karma! I'll be sure to pass it on when I'm done too =D )? How did you guys make yours? I'm completely lost. Thanks so much everyone! My wedding is in ~75 days and am starting to get stressed!!! =( I am bringing down turquoise organza chair sashes as well as turquoise tulle for the gazebo. Let me know if your interested and I will leave them with the WC since I'm only getting married a couple of weeks before you. FYI, I'm not sure if the tulle is going to be in good condition after the ceremony.

Can any destination brides that have been to Dreams Tulum help me decide on a reception location that is private(ish) and has a cement floor with an overhang... basically, i want the tables to be set up on the sand but be next to an outdoor/indoor area, one with a cement floor and an overhang so that guests can dance there and we don't have to pay extra for a dance floor on the beach. Any suggestions?? 1. Look at the first page of this thread and you will see a list of brides and their wedding dates. 2. I don't really know if a location exists that you describe. Maybe El Patio or one of the pools may interest you, but neither have an over hang that you are looking for. Again, if you look on page 1 of the thread, sunbride has a description of each of the reception locations. HTH

I know that the wedding guide mentions that a 10% tax and 15% tip will be charged on the reception dinner. Does anyone know if that tip is for the WC or is it for the waiters? Did anyone or is anyone planning on tipping the WC separately? I most likely will tip the WC separately, but how much is enough?

I am so excited...I just want to be in mexico. At this point, I've come to the conclusion that just as long as Rich (my fiance) shows up, (which he will because we're flying down together HAHAHAHA) everything will be GREAT. i feel the same way!! At this point, i really don't care anymore. I just want to be at DT sipping on a nice frozen drink, hanging out with my FI and family.

Cheri, i am bringing down a few things for decor (chair sashes, tulle for the canopy and some candles) My main reason for bring these things down is money. I refuse to pay $6per candle when I just bought a dozen glass votives for the same amount here. If you decide to keep the basic set up DT provides it will still be beautiful!! Just do what makes you happy And like Katie said, if you get to the resort and you decide you want to add more decorations, the WC will be able to handle that for you.

In april the sunsets around 7:30. I originally had my ceremony set for 5, but my photographer suggested that we move it to 4 to allow enough time for pictures before the sunsets around 7:30. She said the pictures would take about 60-90 minutes. We may end up having some extra time to kill before the cocktail hour which will start at 6, but i prefer that instead of rushing.

I haven't gotten that form yet and my wedding is a month before yours!! Don't worry about people that don't go! I have some family that never even responded to my invitations. At first I was pretty upset, but after a while I just didn't care. The most important people to me are going and that's all that matters. Try not to stress out over it.

Guitar music during ceremony
jerzygirl85 replied to SDbeachgirl's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
I am pretty sure we are set on having a guitarist for the ceremony. My WC told me that the guitarist will have an amp so that everyone can hear it. Maybe you should ask about that. I'm also looking for suggestions for songs. I only care about the songs my bridesmaids walk down to, the song for me and the song for the end of the ceremony. -

But from what it seems, the WCs down there are pretty flexible and cool! I am bringing in an outside photographer. Initially I was told that I would need to buy a day pass for each photographer, however, since my photographer is staying over night, the fee is waived.

I think this new plaza used to be where they would drop you off and pick you up for the airport. (The main building used to be the lobby.) So that area is kinda close to the adult pool. Maybe I should have my reception by the dolphin pool then....

I just received an email from Landy stating that the nightly entertainment takes place in the plaza. Now where is the PLAZA!!! When I visited DT a few years back all the nightly entertainment took place in the plaza by the chapel courtyard and the sugar reef bar. Does anyone know if that's still the case?? Or is there a new plaza since they expanded the resort? I was planning to have my reception by the adult pool, but Landy said I could have the dolphin pool where its more secluded.

Hi everyone! I just booked our catamaran snorkeling excursion with Paradise Catamarans. So far all communication has gone extremely well with this vendor. The prices are not that bad either. You can include an open bar and snacks and they will also arrange for transportaion to and from your hotel. Here is the link to their website in case anyone is interested: About Paradise Catamarans - Sail, swim, snorkel, parasail, and enjoy the Mayan Riviera with Paradise Catamarans. Our private catamaran charters make every outing a memorable event.

Hopefully, I will get a chance to meet with Aurora and visit the wedding and reception location options. I'll try to take some pictures of all the locations and report back to everyone. I dealt with Aurora maybe once or twice. To me, all the WC's respond within a week or so. I guess it depends on how busy they are. As for the site visit...I was planning a trip last year and told one of the WCs that I would be there for a long weekend and that I would like to have a meeting with them. I got a response back with a date and time to meet so I don't think you will have a problem meeting with one of them.
