Show us your wedding dress!

This is my dress. Does anyone think that it's too formal for a beach wedding?? I keep looking at how long the train is! I love it anyway though -
Found my dress!

Here it is! -
Well I found my dress and ordered it last week! It is the complete opposite of what I thought I wanted...which I think seems to happen quite often after reading several threads here. I thought I wanted more of a sheath beachy looking dress. I ended up loving the 2nd of about 30 dresses I tried on. It is made of taffeta and organza so it is still pretty light. Corset back and more on the gowny side with lots of beading on the top half and some along the train (which happens to be longer than I originally intended) and on the bottom front of the skirt. I can't wait until it comes in (about 6-8 months). I keep looking at my photos of it! I am trying to post pictures of it but keep getting a message that it's an unvalid file

I was thinking about emailing the WC now and telling them what locations I want!

In case Aurora tells us that we can't, it would be helpful to have the extra info! Thanks for letting us know! I originally asked about the two entrees from Natalia a few weeks ago who agreed that it would be possible as long as we give her a head count before hand. I have also been emailing Landy lately who seems to be the head WC there and she also agreed that I am able to offer only 2 entrees (i tried for 3 but she wouldn't give). FYI, Landy has an out office message stating that she will be away until May 22nd in case you don't hear from her right away.

Teesha's Dreams Tulum Resort and Wedding Review

Congratulations and thanks for the review. Your pictures look beautiful. I really liked your bridesmaid's dresses! Where did you get them from? Who are they made by? -

I was thinking about going on a Tuesday to be there one day early, but then I felt like it would be kind of lame to go to work just one day on Monday and then leave Tuesday. We plan to have some activities for guests planned Wed-Sun, but maybe we should change the travel days to Tuesday-Saturday. Any thoughts? I think we are leaving either Tues or Wed for our wedding on Saturday. I'm still taking off from work that whole week since I would need to pack and get married legally also before we leave so might as well take the extra day or two. I am actually leaning towards leaving on Wed so that I don't get too much sun and have tan lines! LOL Who want's that!

Thanks!! Is it completely different I know the guide that was sent to me no longer gave a soup course. I also had asked Natalia if the menu will be changing and she said it wouldn't. Is it possible for you to post the menu she sent you

This is for any upcoming brides and past brides....I am allowed to offer my guests two entrees. I am using the ultimate package so I am supposed to pick my two entrees from the gold menu, however, I really want the chicken from the silver menu and the surf & turf from the gold menu. Has anyone been allowed to do this? Choose one item from the silver menu even though you have the gold menu?? I have been emailing Landy, Natalia, Aurora and Anabel and none of them have given me a straight answer!!! It's getting to be frustrating since I think this is a very simple question.

How long did you have to plan?
jerzygirl85 replied to SandDD's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
For us, it was a question of saving money since we are paying for the wedding ourselves. We got engaged in October 2008 and set our date for April 2010 which is a one and a half year engagement. We figured that would give us enough time to save up some money and plan. HTH and happy planning! -
FI and I have blocked off some rooms at our resort. We need to release any unnecessary rooms by a certain date. We would like an rsvp date of 8/15/09 and also want people to at least put a deposit on their room down by this date so we know who will be going and if we need to release any rooms or block off more. As anyone else done this? How do you tell your guests to book without being pushy Can i ask this on the rsvp card like "please rsvp/book by..." or will is that not proper etiquette? Thanks

Sunset Cruise in RM?
jerzygirl85 replied to beachbride2009's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Wedding Vendors
I believe one bride used cancundiscounts.com to book a catamaran trip. I was looking into doing this also as a little thank you for our guests. I am hoping to not spend more than $50 a person. -
Can't wait to see them!! I just booked them for my wedding! For those of you who haven't checked their website in a few days, there are some new slideshows posted. Also, Lori emailed me and let me know that they will no longer be preparing albums. We can purchase an album and design it ourselves directly thru pictage.com

Congratulations to all the new Mrs.'s!! Denise - I believe you used Moments that Matter. I am thinking of using them as well and would love to hear about them. And, of course, would love to see your pics when you get them!!! I have another question regarding food...i have a few vegetarians in my group. Does anyone know what they serve them during the reception Also, has anyone offered three entrees? I know that we can have more than 1 entree as long as we give them a headcount. Thanks ladies

Within this 7 days we need to have 10 people book so that they can hold the price. I have been to a couple destination weddings and we never had to book this quickly. Anyone experience this or have any advise? Also, my fiance would really prefer to wait to book until the end of May or beginning of June. He thinks that we will have more people prepared to pay their deposit then. I would really prefer the sooner we get something in place the more at ease I will feel. I would hate for us to pick our resort and then find out that they don't have alot of options for wedding date/time. Any advise on when we should book or how quickly we need to pick a date/time?? Hi there, first let me say that I don't think you or your guests should book any travel without first booking your wedding date with the hotel you choose! Also, I don't think it is reasonable for your TA to only give you and your guests a 7 day window to book at a certain rate. Maybe you should look into a different TA. I just finalized my group contract and my guests basically have from now until next March to book at the rate me and my FI agreed to. (btw I used one of the TA's from this forum) However, if you only have 10 guests, maybe it would just be easier to have everyone book on their own through expedia or something. It could save you a headache. I am waiting for the airfare for April 2010 to come out before I book my travel. HTH -

2010 Brides
jerzygirl85 replied to leogurl's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Hey 2010 brides!! I was able to block off rooms at Dreams Tulum for my guests! I am starting to feel like I'm actually planning my wedding. Now I'm trying to decide a photographer, I have narrowed it down to two - Claudia Rodriguez or Moments That Matter. Happy planning everyone! -
I am in the process of blocking rooms now and my ta said that guests can call to book also. Since my wedding is also a year away, I am not worried about no one booking now. besides airfares aren't out yet, so i think most people will wait anyway until those fares come out that way they call the ta and book the air and hotel at the same time. My rsvp date will be August 15th since I need to release x amount of unused rooms without penalty sometime in the fall. Plus i will get an idea of who will actually go so i can arrange other things.
