  1. Hi Ladies, Well, swine flu, or no swine flu...we have been fortunate b/c non of our guests have cancelled on us (whether from the swine flu or issues with the drug cartel)... Our date is Oct 24, and I sent our our STD's last month. As for group rates/resort prices/flights...we are using a travel agent who is wonderful! Her name is AnnaLynne [email protected] She is very knowledgable and, this way, if there are any issues, she is the person resolving them, not me... In regard to photographer, we are booked w/ del Sol...they are probably the best photogs in that area... The one thing we are contemplating is whether we should book a DJ...or just load an Ipod up and use the resorts equipment... We have a website Tracey & Brent - wedding website by mywedding.com but we have not mentioned anything about the swine flu...everyone knows what's going on...so no need to rebroadcast... I hope this is helpful...
  2. Question, If I choose a package, say the classic wedding package...it states that it is for "up to 12 guests"...does this include food for those 12 guests and you just pay per head for the rest?
  3. aerazo I have read that other brides have been able to sit large parties without the reservation requirement (but they also tipped the hostess well for the trouble). It's a gamble though. There has to be enough room for everyone to sit together. We are doing a welcome dinner and maybe a catamaran tour instead of the rehearsal dinner. And we are taking the gamble that we will all be able to sit with each other in one of the Royal Restaurants. I also have a very aggressive bridesmaid who plans on stalking the restaurant for me to ensure that we all sit together.
  4. Is anyone doing a catamaran tour (mini booze cruise)? We thought it would be a nice surprise for our guests. But we will have around 30 guests. So I am trying to find an economical way of doing it. Any ideas?

Does anyone else have concerns regarding this?
  6. Roni, Where did you get the starfish necklaces? Thanks for all of the pics and ideas!
  7. Our date is set...Oct 24, 2009. Can anyone who has been there in October tell me what the weather is like there at that time? I am hoping that it is warm enough to hang out on the beach/pool...also, what are the nights like that time of year? (warm, cool, cold, etc). Thanks!
  8. Yes, my WC was Laura, but I received an email from Zulma this week saying that Laura no longer works for the resort, and Zulma will be my new WC. I hope she doesn't get "bogged" down with all of the reassignments.
  9. Dcheung, In regards to your FunEver question...from the research I have done: FunEver basically contracts out photographers, they do not have 1 or 2 specific photographers...I think one that they use is Vanessa Vargas. I think you can google her name and her website will come up...I think I may use her...I LOVE Elizabeth Medina, but she is a bit pricey. I have also heard that it is cheaper to book Vargas through the resort. I hope this helps.
  10. OK, we finally booked our date Oct 24, 2009 We are currently working w/ Laura. I sent her my $300 deposit (via credit card authorization form) and she told me that I will have to make 2 more payments...one in 30 days and another in 60 days. Maybe she is just more strict b/c she is the wedding manager... Pics-who is this Rachel person? Does she have a website? I love Elizabeth Medina, but she is pricey. I will have about 40 people at my wedding, so I will already be spending a lot of money on food, etc... Food-Can you guys recommend a menu for the 3 course dinner? We wanted buffet style, but I think you have to have 50+ people for that. DJ-the DJ that is provided by RPDC...has anyone used them? If so, who was it and how was the music? Has anyone been to RPDC in October? I am wondering what the weather will be like there. I live in Louisiana and it is 40 degrees here right now...
  11. OK, we want to have our ceremony on the gazebo (which is in the resort), but our reception on the beach. The beach is not private, so how can the Royal regulate & enforce the vendor rule? And I know you guys said it is $50/person for food at the reception...but does this include alcohol? If not, how much does that normally run?
  12. wow! I am really bummed about the no outside vendors rule! we are planning on getting married at the Royal in October 2009. We expect to have 20-30 guests. what are the differences between getting married at the resort versus not getting married at the resort? Where else would you get married? Who would cater? Who would bartend? Is the gazebo on the resort grounds? and can you only get married there through the royal (or one of their other resorts)?
  13. Stacey, When is your date to get married?
  14. Thanks for everyones' warm welcomes!! I need help with vendor ideas. I saw some neat lounge furniture on a new bride-Heidi's page...and I would love to find out the contact info for that vendor. Also, vendors for: flowers photog music food set up for ceremony private vs regular beach Obviously, I need a lot of help! Can you guys shoot me some ideas on vendors?
  15. We are getting married at the RPDC, in October or November of 2009. Looking for lots of advice/suggestions.
  16. Can you give me the contact info for where you got the lounge furniture?
  17. Heidi, Can you send me the contact info for the companies you got the lounge furniture for the reception, chairs and chair covers & gazebo for the wedding? We plan on getting married at The Royal in October of next year. Thanks!
