Thanks girls - it's sooo hard to choose! sjmacphe - I was sort of leaning towards #1 because I really like the idea of all lace, but there is something about #2 that I keep going back to. I think I'm going to bring my mom and try on both again to see which gets the best reaction! scubadiva - #2 is by Venus Bridals, here's a link: Venus Bridals -

Wow this is SO detailed - I certainly see why you call it your masterpiece, lol! Thanks so much for sharing, I think a lot of brides will find this so useful. -
We are staying for 2 weeks at our resort. First week with everyone and the second week alone. We are booked into the Royal Service section of the resort, but probably won't spend much time there the first week as we'll be hanging with everyone else. We'll enjoy the privacy and perks of the RS during our second week - "honeymoon week"!

I find they arent always that responsive, and I guess this is their busiest time of year. Good Luck

I'm having an orange and blue wedding - any ideas? -
I think you're making a good decision. I had chosen to have my reception on La Barcaza because I was so disappointed with the costs for the reception at the Melia. And now this foolishness! Oh my! It's too bad because I think the Melia resort is just beautiful. We chose the resort because we had such a fabulous time there when we were there in 06. If the fee is for the photographers, I'm sure they'll start fighting back. Who could afford that - it's more than we are paying for our photo package!
-
Jennierin - I'm freaking a bit after just reading your post! We have booked an outside photographer - HDC Photo. But I thought we just had to pay a $95 day pass for them to come to the resort. Paying a copyright fee is CRAZY! There is no way I'm paying that!!! Did you ever get a response from the wedding coordinator confirming that's true??

This is a fun thread! If I had extra $$ I would add the horse and carriage and musical trio to the ceremony. To cut $$, I think I'm considering not doing OOT bags and just doing mugs for everyone. -
Your right, all the "night life" is at one end of the resort. We stayed there in 06 and our room ended up being closer to the lobby end rather than the beach end. We liked that because we were closer to our room after dinner/drinks, etc. During the day when we'd head to the pools/beach we'd be there all day, so didnt really need to be close to our rooms. I agree, it really sucks having to pay for a bar when you are on an all inclusive resort and every other time everything is at your disposal for free. That's why we decided to have our reception off the resort. Just made more sense to us. Good luck with your planning! There's lots to think about!

I'm not sure how quickly they book up. Are you hoping to reserve it for your wedding reception - but wait until you get down there? Or just for an excursion for everyone? I'd be hesitant to wait if it's for our reception, but if it's for an excursion you could probably wait as I'm sure you'll be a bit more flexible on day or even time when you do it. The coordinator for the boat - Flori - is awesome to deal with. She's super responsive and has been great!
