  1. Yes!! It is for the most part all pick and choose!! They give you a whole bunch of info, and you can take pretty much anything you want out of it.. The only thing you can not do is use anyone else for your food and bev.. oh--and flowers.. but if you have ideas for anything, they do a great job catering to you. I am on a very small budget because we are paying for this ourselves, so the WC is great with our ideas (i.e. we are bringing our own officiant down to make it more personal..and to not pay those fees--we'll get married here at a courthouse to make it legal, we're doing a cupcake cake to save on cutting fees, we're getting our own photographer,..etc..) Let me know if you need help getting in contact with the people!
  2. Hey everyone! I just got back from a weekend trip to Vegas, and passed a booth in the mall that I was interested in.. Would anyone consider having this dress as a bridesmaid dress? Orr--is it to,..i don't know, Paris Hilton (no offense to Paris.. I'm just not sure if it's wedding appropriate--regardless of destination or not). Let me know before I bring it up to my girls! (p.s. they are only like $65)
  3. BAHAHHAHAHHA!!! I just cracked up when reading that!
  4. Thanks so much for putting your script up Tammy!! I am starting to plan mine, and this totally helped!
  5. I definitely have to start thinking of something.. guys trips always seem more adventurous!! fishing... golfing... I like the photo contest idea.. maybe the winner gets a free spa treatment or something?!
  6. I didnt even think of this!! omg,.. I've been on the fence about whether or not to go with fake or real flowers, and I really wanted to make a shadow box with the items from my wedding (my friend made one and it is absolutely gorgeous), and if I don't have my bouquet in there it would really be a bummer. guess I better start my search!!
  7. i tried that on! it is great for a destination wedding, but.. if you don't like it, search for something else and when you find the perfect one, just tell her, sell the dress, and pay her back! If money is an issue, you can check out ebay, craigslist, or any of the discount wedding dress sites.. im sure you can find something you like for a comparable price. heck, i didnt like the dress i chose originally (and yes, my mom was part of the sayso in the purchase), but then I found a fantastic NEW dress on ebay for $50 (yes, $50 brand new from J.Crew!)..and my mom completely understood, and agreed afterwards that it suited me better. It's all about how comfortable YOU feel in your dress because you want to feel great the day of your wedding! Best of luck in whatever you decide on doing!!
  8. if you feel like your dress is a little to fancy for going barefoot, why not wear some fancy footwear like this: thats what I plan on doing, and then switching into the heels for the reception.
  9. im so sorry to hear about your videographer.. the one i wanted was booked too, so we are just having my brother and his friends videotape and then editing it. about your FI mom,..she needs to chill. She needs to realize that money doesnt fall from the sky, and if it did then you'd love to pay for everyone. Why doesn't she pay for her son??
  10. i know this is horrible,.. but i have a feeling the same thing is going to happen to me,.. regardless of me already telling them that we FULLY understand if they are unable to make it due to money or anything else for that matter. there are just some friends that hate putting anyone out, and would rather wait until some major event happens to say that they can't make it rather than telling us how it is upfront. i expect that from someone that has not been married before because they have absolutely zero concept of how stressful all the planning is, etc.. so hopefully it isn't one of my BM that is already married! but like everyone else said,..brush it off girl, and try not to stress. things always work out, and the main point is, YOU ARE GETTING MARRIED!! :0) i don't think its necessary for you to waste any more money on program changes either...guests understand that stuff happens..
  11. great finds!! i NEVER get there in time for all the worth while stuff in the $1 aisle!! I'll go tomorrow and see what happens!
  12. FI totally wants this! We're going to do a photo booth inspired area a our reception
  13. Jenn, We had the same issue, but found out that most people who told us they couldnt come originally still wanted invites to get us a wedding present because they were excited for our future together.. (the wedding is a little over 5 months away and I already have had two presents sent to me from guests that will not be able to make it, but still wanted to show they cared). That being said,.. the extra invites didnt turn out to be money wasted. As for the extra plates,..so far pretty much everyone that said they werent going to be able to make it are sticking to it for me, and there are even some who pulled out that originally were going to..so that changes all the time. I don't know about your hotel, but my hotel gives us until 3 days before the wedding for any definite numbers for food. We are also having an AHR after the wedding for the guests that cant make it to our destination wedding, and they all really appreciate it! Hope that helps!
  14. Sapphires are great (I originally wanted one before I knew that it was out of the price range at the time). MY ring has a geniune pink tourmaline (which is more precious than a diamond, and a third of the cost). I've had it for over a year and the color looks as beautiful as it did the day I set my eyes on it. Do some research on it! I know a great tourmaline jeweler in San Diego if you need one (mine wasnt from her.. I got mine in KY, but the SD woman is amazing with her gems.
  15. awww, they came out SO GOOD! It made me smile the whole way through! Loved the music too.. heehee

I plan to give them to them on the morning of the wedding. That's a VERY pretty necklace!! I may have to save up a little more to do that instead!!

(the $500 toward their trips).. All the bridesmaids that could make it for me WANTED to go down and considered it a great reason for a vacation, so I don't feel bad about the added costs... I'm almost happy that I was able to help spice up their year! lol
  18. Have the time of your life!! Can't wait to hear all about it!
  19. Jess-- I checked into Volaris, and can't believe the amazing prices (thank you).. however, EVERYONE I tell says its a horrible idea and theyd rather pay the 250 extra to not go into TJ because of how unsafe it is.. what do you think?? Can you help me persuade them that its a good idea based off of your experience??
  20. I also did electronic STD.. just to put the word out and to help them remember when they need to ask for vacation time for the upcoming year..
