  1. i'm sorry this is happening to you! how long were your guests planning on staying to begin with? this could wind up being better for your guests. besides, thursdays not so bad when you think about the money you're saving! also, my mom's a teacher and she'll be missing work for our wedding, but she's just not taking any time off leading up to it. i'm sure your mom would be willing to take some time off to be with you on this special day. plus, the school system should find a substitute for her, so that's not trouble that she'll have to deal with. try not to worry - i'm sure your FI will understand! everything will work out! your day will be beautiful regardless of when it is!
  2. this may be old news, but i thought i'd post it anyway. it might be a nice list to send to your guests a month or so before they come, so they can start planning their non-wedding-related activities... or you could put it in an OOT bag, or put a link on your wedding website. 52 Things To Do in Puerto Vallarta Jalisco Mexico hope this helps!
  3. wow. it's beautiful! it looks like it was made just for you. it fits you perfectly, and it's beyond flattering. your fiance is going to pass out!
  4. hahaha.. i've been waiting for this moment. i was best friend with his cousin in high school, and she would always deny it so hard. we all knew, but she swore up in down that there was no possible way. she would even get mad at us for saying so - i wonder what she'd say now!
  5. i was just wondering if the site visit was really necessary. it seems like it would require a lot of money we don't really have right now. the pictures of the destination look great, and i've heard some wonderful things about the it, but it seems everyone's doing site visits! have any of you booked without a site visit? those who are married and didn't do a site visit - did it work out for you? thanks for your help! sidenote: it is ridiculous how much time i've spent on bdw this week! i've been sick and therefore absent from life. i've spent practically all day in my bed on bdw. could i be anymore lame?

(this questions really applies to anyone who can answer!)
  7. mandy- if you find making your own invitations to be overwhelming and you're looking to go the less expensive route, i'd say definitely go with vistaprint. i used vistaprint for my engagement party invitations and they were beautiful. everyone commented on how nice they turned out. i only spent about $40 for 30 invites and invitations, but no one would've guessed!
  8. wish it was closer to my wedding, because that is a good deal. thanks for sharing!
  9. i agree with jaimelynne - you only get to do all of this once! showers can be overwhelming, but people want to show you that the love you, and they want to celebrate this amazing time with you - you should let them!
  10. YAY! so exciting! i'm waayyy jealous!
  11. these posts are my favorite here on BDW! your wedding (and you!) looked beautiful! sorry about the rain - i know thats going to happen to me, i can just feel it. i'm glad you posted the picture of the OOT bags. i like that you included a lock. i would've never thought of that, but it's a great idea! hope you're enjoying married life!
  12. i love pashminas. truly. i am so glad that i cam here, because i've seen them all over the place. the planning journal section of the forum has become my "wedding porn" (as the ladies from weddingbee like to call it). lots of brides are giving pashminas to the women attending their weddings, but i can't seem to find where they're getting them from. can anyone help me out with where i can find these? the cheaper the better
  13. i voted for number one. they're all nice, but the first one definitely grabbed my attention above the rest. good luck!
  14. welcome! newbies represent!
  15. welcome to the forum! i'm new here too, so we'll be learning and exploring together! you'll find this place is an invaluable resource. good luck and happy findings!

  17. nope! I don't have much planned yet, but i know this much. we don't live together now, and have never slept together, so it won't be any different that night. i'll be having a girls night in the wedding suite (which will probably include a lot of crying and giggling)! i've always dreamed of my man standing at the end of the aisle, and his face as he sees me for the first time in my wedding day get-up. i could never, ever spoil that. we won't see each other until the music starts playing! that being said, i can't wait to stay with him after the wedding! whoo hoo!
  18. here i go again... i have another question! i searched for this one as well, and either i am terrible at the searching thing or this question does not exist on the forum. my question is: has anyone been able to get a group rate for their guests? (i have been on a few missions trips to south america, and we had a cheaper group rate due to the number of people who went.) flight is not included in the package where i want to get married, and i don't want my guests to pay an outrageous amount on flying there. has anyone gotten a group rate for their guests? if so, from who and how much was it? thanks again! y'all are amazing!
  19. i love the necklace. too cute! like the others i'd say just go with the necklace. diamond (or cz!) studs for your earrings would be a nice compliment.
