  1. I don't know what to do anymore! I sent these pics to my mom and she said that it didn't flatter my figure, made my waist look bigger than it is, and made me look "boxy". I don't want to look like any of the words she used to describe it. I'm so bummed out right now...
  2. Both of those dresses are gorgeous and it sounds like you got a great deal, congrats!!
  3. Cayo, that's amazing that you know the store just by looking at the inside haha! Yeah, it's The Bridal House here in Edmonton, they had great service, I'm so glad I was able to do that last night.
  4. Thanks so much ladies! I love it! So now my problem is...hair up or hair down? Veil or no veil? Thoughts?
  5. Congrats and welcome Selina! I was considering the Azul Sensatori for my wedding (it looks amazing), but decided not to go with them because it was a little too quiet for my taste. Good luck with your planning!
  6. Ok girls! I went dress shopping after work for about 2.5 hrs with my good friend, we were able to get a consultation even though we were walk-in clients. Boy am I ever glad we got a consultation tonight! I walked around and "tagged" a bunch of dresses to try on that I thought I would like but the one I ended up falling in love with was one that the consultant found. It's very different than what I thought I wanted but I guess that's how it goes. Dress Stats: Color - Diamond White Neckline - Sweetheart Silhouette - A-line Train - Yes Bussel - Yes Now for the pics!! Here's a full length of me in the dress from the front (please excuse my awful hair lol) Here's a full length from the back, I love the train, I didn't think I wanted one but this one is beautiful Here's a full length side view of the dress Here it is close up from the front, hair up and no veil Close up from the front, hair up with veil And finally, close up from the front, hair down with veil So what do you lovely ladies make of this one? I'm very excited about it!
  7. Yeah, I'm definately looking for something that is shape-flattering on me. I don't know if any of you other ladies are short-waisted, but I am, and it is so damn hard to find anything that flatters a girl like me with my short waist...not to mention I could stand to lose a few more still, I'm sure glad I lost 20 lbs though or this would have been unbearable I think lol.
  8. Awww you ladies are so sweet, thank so much for the compliments. I don't really see myself as thin or pretty but I'm blushing right now! I don't have a lot of time left before the big day, so what if I never find "the one"? I just don't know if I'll be able to know right away if it's the one... Thanks for your opinions, I really appreciate getting your non-biased opinions! It's much better than asking friends and family because you know for sure that it's impartial.
  9. Thanks sunsetbride, I appreciate your honesty. The search continues! I agree, I want somewhat of a combination of those two dresses, don't know if I can find it though :/ I prefer the sweetheart neckline but I love the chiffon on the other one...this is tough!!
  10. Hehe, thank you! Well, I love the chiffon on the first one but I'm not crazy about the neckline on it, if I bought it though, I would be asking a seamstress to make it a sweetheart neckline for me. The first one is only $500 too which is nice, I didn't find out how much the second one was. There's still a few places/styles I wan to try but never hurts to have opinions.
  11. P.S. Please ignore that stupid face I'm making in the second pic lol oh and the second one is strapless, I just didn't take off my bra when I tried that one on, it was also a size or two too big so I was trying to hold it tight against me hehe.
  12. Hi Ladies! I breifly tried on dresses this past saturday with my mom and took pics of two that we thought were ok...just wondering which you like better. Opinions welcome!! Be brutally honest too! haha First Dress I tried: Second Dress I tried:
  13. I went to Vegas last November, I stayed at the Red Rock Resort & Casino (off the strip though) for the first two days. It's a really nice place and has many amenities right there including a bowling alley and a movie theater and a bunch of fancy restaurants and a club. The pool area is nice too. For the other 5 days, I stayed at The Signature at MGM Grand near the strip. Nice hotel for a decent price, and we managed to snag a room with a balcony, so that was nice too. The room we had also had a jacuzzi bathtub. Sadly, not many pools seemed to be open in November around Vegas... Anyhoo, I really enjoyed my stay at both hotels and I'd recommend either of them for a nice, relaxing time. Good luck!
  14. Hopping on the #3 love train here, I think it would go best with your dress. Good luck!

It's an honor to do it, truly, but whenever I'm up there, in the back of my mind I always wish I could be sitting and watching with everyone else.
  16. My FI and I are not having a bridal party. We thought it would be nice to just let everyone enjoy and watch, rather than have them stand up there.
  17. Oh my goodness! I love your dish! Thanks for all the good ideas girls!
  18. That's beautiful! You did an amazing job on that!
  19. That necklace is too cute! I would totally wear that to my wedding!
  20. So a little update for you ladies. Gabriela Palacios from the Iberostar Paraiso Beach has been corresponding with me throughout the day, she reassured me up and down that everything would go exactly as I wish, so I guess I'll just have to take her word for it and stop stressing over it. Also, she is a very sweet woman, a pleasure to deal with so far!
  21. I'm starting to think that might have been the smarter thing to do...
  22. Hey everyone, I received "comfirmation" from Gabriela Palacious at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach regarding my situation with dates. Here's what she said "Regarding the paperwork, yes, it’s important to arrive 4 working days in advance if you already booked like and you cant change it we can live it like this but please its really important to come with us the following day to do all the paperwork also I will need your witnesses come with you either because I need their signatures per some documents." Would this put your mind at ease or would you still be worried? I don't know how I feel about all this...
  23. Hi everyone! I don't know if this has been asked before but I'm a bit stumped here and I couldn't find this question when I searched. My FI and I are not having a wedding party or anyone stand up there with us when we get married, so my question is....what do I do with the rings until I need them? My FI will have pockets so I guess he can keep his there but what about me? Do I have my mom sit in the front row and have her quickly bring it up to me during the ceremony when it's time? What is the proper thing to do in this instance? Thanks!!
  24. Welcome and good luck with your planning!
  25. Welcome around! I was looking at the Barcelo too before I picked the Iberostar.
