Wedding Band Prices
~*Kathy*~ replied to ~*Kathy*~'s topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Thanks for your thoughts ladies. I didn't really have a budget in mind for the one I wanted, I would have been totally thrilled if it was less than $1000, I just wish I had bargained with that guy more lol Lesson learned I guess! -
Bestfriend or Sister as MOH?
~*Kathy*~ replied to latinalocany's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I would just make the both MOHs or have none at all. I like to avoid confrontation though haha. Good luck! -
I'm still so confused about this! My wc at Iberostar Paraiso Beach told me that we need the long version of our birth certificates and our passports. She said that we didn't need to translate the certificates, which surprised me. Can anyone else staying that the Iberstar confirm this? She's making me paranoid! lol

Wedding Gowns - You VS Model
~*Kathy*~ replied to ~Melissa~'s topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I'm completely in love with my dress too, NJ! It's funny, the first time I went to that bridal shop, I didn't even notice it on the rack, the bridal shop coordinator picked it out for me, but I couldn't be happier with it! I love that hairstyle too and might consider doing something similar. -

Wedding Band Prices
~*Kathy*~ replied to ~*Kathy*~'s topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Well I figured since I thought I was paying for it (this was my idea) that it wouldn't be a problem for him. So then he tells me he was thinking about paying for it before I went and picked out a $1500 ring. Would be nice if he would verbalize his thoughts more often lol. Oh well, I told him if I feels bad for not paying for it because it's too expensive then he can pay for part of it. Doesn't make a difference to me. We didn't have a budget but he figured I would have the good sense to question the jeweler. I even asked my FI to come with me and he said no....this is exactly why I wanted him to come with me though! lol -

Wedding Band Prices

I went to the same jeweler my FI went to to make my ering. My wedding band will have channel set diamonds on each side of the top of the band and is set in 14k white gold. I didn't specify how many diamonds I wanted, so maybe that's where I went wrong. He drew for me exactly the band that I was looking for/had in mind so I guess I kind of jumped in to it. -
Good morning everyone! My FH and I got in to a "heated discussion" let's say last night about the price of the wedding band I'm getting custom made to match my engagement ring. I was quoted $1500 for the band and maybe it's because I'm all hopped up on painkillers this week, but it didn't occur to me to bargain with the jeweler who is making it. I'm not going to lie, $1500 is more than I wanted to pay, but if I love it and have to look at it forever, it may as well be something I'm in love with, right? I feel like I'm crazy!! My FH, being the practical guy that he is, doesn't see spending that kind of money on a wedding band (piece of jewelry to him...ha!) as being practical. Needless to say we kind of had a big blowout about it. He's over it now but it got me wondering, how much are you all spending on your wedding bands ladies? Surely there must be someone who sees my point of view on this! lol

Hi Ladies, I figured I'd make a new thread for this so you gals can give me your very educated and appreciated opinions on things!! So, here's a pic of me in my dress: So, what to you ladies figure? Hair up or hair down? I'm still not sure...I was leaning towards these updo's: Updo 1 Updo 2 Or half up, half down like this (I'm on the right in the teal dress, not the greatest pic of my hair with the wind blowing and all that, I'll post a better pic of it later): Which earrings are better? Earrings 1: Earrings 2: I'm so indecisive! I can't make these choices alone haha

Ok, so here's what I was quoted leaving from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada: One week stay - $1,734.25 per child ages 4 - 12 One week stay - $1,257.25 per child ages 2 - 3 Children 0 - 2 stay free. Hope this helps! I think most of that price quoted is the cost for the flight since I'm using a travel agency.

I didn't catch this episode of Oprah but hopefully I'll see a rerun of it sometime. I find it very interesting and I agree that a lot of people need much better manners in their everyday lives. It's interesting that you ladies bring up the service industry jobs and how poorly people are treated in these jobs. I worked for a retailer part time during high school and some of the people there were the worst. There's a website I like to read from time to time called notalwaysright.com, it's true tales of rude and just plain stupid people and the wonderful people who live to tell the tales of stupidity and ignorance. Check it out if you're ever bored, you'll laugh, cry, and cringe. In fact, most of the time you'll probably pee your pants laughing.

beachbride08, I got your email of the wedding slideshow, thanks! I must say I'm pretty impressed/happy with the resort photographer and the picture he took of their wedding. That's calming my fears a little as we plan on using the Iberostar photographer as well since it's more cost-effective. I mean, sure it's not as amazing as many of the professional photographers that post here but he did a good job and that's all I ask for.

I know this is going to sound horrible, but I can't wait to drop my current last name. I won't bore you all with the long details but it's my dad's last name and he and I (and pretty much his side of the family) do not get along and I haven't spoken to my dad or have seen him in almost ten years. My FH's last name is more difficult to spell for people but I don't care, I know I'm going to love being Mrs. ___, as corny as that might be.

I promise the moment I get back from my wedding/honeymoon in Feb/March I will try to post many pictures of Iberostar Paraiso Beach & Del Mar and maybe a review so that all of you ladies will have something to go on.

To all Fake N Bake's which lotion do you use??
~*Kathy*~ replied to 2bebridejamaica's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Bumping an old thread but I used Australian Gold tanning lotion with hemp in it in the beginning of August and I had a really bad allergic reaction to the hemp, just a warning if you've never used a hemp lotion. I had no idea until then that I was allergic to anything, let alone hemp. It was miserable. -
Ours will probably cost about $5000 total. $2,400 of that is for the cost of the resort's wedding package and probably another $700 on top of that for the resort's photographer. My dress is $1,300. Everyone is paying their own way to Mexico and my FH's parents are paying for his two week stay and my parents are paying for my two week stay as a wedding gift.
