That would be awesome if you could pm me when you get back to let me know how it went with your dress on the plane and everything. Thanks!!
  4. Wow, $800 is a fantastic price!! Anyhoo, don't feel bad about planning it in 8 months. Mine is six months to the day after my engagement, so yeah. I understand that for some people it may be difficult to afford but for those that matter, it should be ok. Good luck!

  6. Carrie - Yeah, that's why I was thinking of putting mine all the way up...less hassle at the end of the day. I guess I should mention that I am 90% certain that I am not having a beach ceremony as I am sort of in love with the gazebo at the Iberostar hehe, so I thought I'd let you ladies know. And now for your viewing pleasure, some hair inspiration pics...I'm kind of all over the place with ideas/styles... Style 1: HU/HD Style 2: All up Style 3: All up Style 4: All up (maybe too casual?)
  7. When I'm craving something (which isn't often as I usually eat six times/day), I reach for something with healthy fat/lots of protein. Protein will make you feel full, have a few unsalted almonds. Water helps too as you might not be hungry but dehydrated. I generally try to drink 4-5 litres of water per day.

What do we have to bring/get I think its a blood test in mexico, passport, and certified birth certificate -right - I'm I forgetting something? Somewhere I read something about an apostille do we need that and what is it? Ohhh, and what do we have to do (if anything) to make it legal in Illinois/USA? How do we change are name too? Any info. would greatly help... Thanks, Danielle Hey there! We're having a civil ceremony at paraiso beach (same side as del mar), Gabriela told me that all we need are our passports and our un-translated long form birth certificates. There is a blood test that will be done when you meet with Gabriela a few days prior to the wedding date. I think it's $100 each but not 100% sure of that cost. Also, if anyone getting married (civil ceremony) at Del Mar/Beach wants to see some of the stuff that Gabriela has you fill out prior to the wedding, let me know and I'll email em to you. She sent me some forms the other day requesting bride & groom information as well as witness in and another document requesting our preferences for the ceremony location, cake flavour, reception restaurant, etc.
  9. Aw thanks ladies! It's nice to get un-biased opinions. This is so tough! I love that Mexico pic too even though I was totally not happy with the way she did my hair though, but I guess she must have done ok since you all love it hehe. But then again, I feel the same as Fanny and Rach, there's something about it being all the way up with that dress that makes it seem sophisticated. Ugh, I couldn't make a decision if my life depended on it lol. Is there a way I can edit this post to make it a poll?
  10. Thanks for your input so far ladies! Quote: Originally Posted by *Casey* Can you post pics of your hair up, down, and half? Just curious. This is from my brother-in-law's wedding on the RM three years ago (I'm on the right), I was going for the same style as above but the hairstylist at the resort did it way wrong/different than how I've had it done here in Canada... Me with my hair down & straight...with my FI hehe Does this count as all the way up? I just put it in a hair clip for the pic. Geez my face looks bad in this one lol and my eyebrows! wtf Let me know what you think!
  11. Oh I just love those earrings!! I think they would go with your dress quite nicely!

  13. Hey ladies, I wasn't sure where I should post this, so I figured this might be the best place. I'm having an extremely tough time deciding what to do with my hair for the wedding and I fear that it'll be a last minute decision and I will end up hating it...and I don't want to!! So my question is: how did you decide how you were going to wear your hair for the big day? Was the dress a deciding factor? Weather? Stylist experience (didn't want to choose something so intricate that the stylist wouldn't be able to do it)? Please share, I'm killing myself over this and I'm hoping to decide soon because I just don't want to think about it anymore! lol Thanks in advance!!
  14. Same here! Thanks for the info Michelle, I just thought my pc was acting up!
  15. Well here goes: - As someone else said above "my dad is a douche" so he's not even invited to my wedding lol - My step-dad is paying for my two week stay and my FI's parents are paying for his two week stay - my mom paid for half of my dress - FI and I are footing the rest of the costs (photographer, wedding package cost, etc)

I originally hired a videographer but to get them for the ceremony & the reception I had to hire them for the whole day, which wasn't cheap, but it seemed like a waste cause there's not much to videotape while we're getting photos done & eating supper etc., so I decided I'd just get someone in the family to do it instead. That's funny! I'm having the same issues with my FI, right now we are thinking we may go with Sascha Gluck. And I agree, the resort photogs seem to make everyone who gets married at the Iberostar do the same cheesy poses ALL THE TIME! It is not something I want at all lol.

  18. So I took a look at the photographs that the woman on the Iberostar boards had taken by the resort photographers. They didn't blow me away, that's for sure!! I didn't see this "bee" that she was talking about though...so that was weird. After careful consideration, I think I may end up splurging for an outside photographer. It just seems worth it to work with someone who is fluent in English and who takes a more photojournalistic approach. We'll see!
