Michelle - even with some minor hiccups, I am sooo glad to hear everything went well!! I am so excited to see how they will do with the bouquet picture I sent them as I was told the florist there is very good! Also, I don't know if it's different on the Lindo/Maya side but the only chair-bow options that I was given as far as colors go were white, silver, or gold. I chose silver.

dont hate me but what is a healthy way to gain weight???

Agreed, and not only will it be hard to break the habit of eating junk food but also the fact that many people who appear/look skinny and eat whatever they want still might eventually clog their arteries from all of the junk they were eating. Outward appearance isn't always indicative of how healthy someone actually is....their insides might actually be better or worse than some people's, depending on their eating habits. Also, have you considered maybe lifting some weights to put on more weight? (lol that sounds redundant!) What about incorporating more protein in to your diet? I'm no nutritionist either, so I couldn't say for sure but I think other things that the girls have suggested such as 2% milk, etc are a good start. Almonds also have healthy fats in them, and I believe that 1/3 cup of almonds (unsalted) has about 25g of fat in it. Good luck, wish I had your problem! -

Great pics, you're positively radiant in them!! Congrats! -
Congrats and welcome! I soooo badly wanted to have my wedding there but sadly it was all booked up for Feb 09. Great choice, I'm sure you will love it!

I am wondering if I should keep it all. Does anyone know if the resort does any type of decorating, or should I just bring it all with me? I went to Gordman's and found such great things! My fiance even liked it! I was surprised he didn't say, "what is all this?" Just thought I would share. Hey! Congrats on your good finds! From what I understand, the Iberostar doesn't do much for reception area decorating other than a floral centrepiece at the head of the table. I've read many times (and I believe their pdf document says this too) that if you bring decorations, they will gladly set them up for you. I hope this helps!!

If you post in that thread with your email address requesting to see her pics, she'll gladly send them to you. That's what kind of pushed me to look elsewhere for a better photographer. Good luck! "The Straw That Broke This Camel's Back"
~*Kathy*~ replied to sunsetbride1's topic in Just venting or funnies
I hear ya girl! The first year that my FI and I started dating, I gained 20 lbs...from junk food and lack of activity. I'm STILL trying to get the weight off as over the years I had gained another 20 lbs (well over about 7 years). So last winter I set out to lose this weight that I shouldn't have gained, I'm half way there with 20 lbs down and 20 lbs to go. I'm sorry to hear you're so stressed about this though! My best advice, as others upthread have said, is to eat 5-6 small meals/day and make sure that each meal has a good balance of protein for satiety, carbs for energy, and fat because a little fat is good for you (I have about 8g fat/meal as per my PT's direction). You're athletic (as you said), so you should have no problem bouncing back I'm sure. We're here for you!! -
La Senza, really?
~*Kathy*~ replied to ~*Kathy*~'s topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Hey ladies! That's interesting! I guess I'm in my own little sheltered world sometimes...well not that I'm sheltered really, I've been to racier places before but was surprised to see that stuff at La Senza, which like Michelle said, used to be relatively tame. smf47 - no, I didn't buy it, the corset that is, but I totally wanted to! lol I was in a hurry so I didn't bother trying anything on, just peeking around and getting some ideas hehe. The whip...eh not so much, my FI isn't as adventurous as that...yet! haha -
I didn't know where to put this, so forgive me if it's in the wrong place. I just thought this was too funny/weird not to share. For those of you who may not know, La Senza is a lingerie store, kind of like VS. Anyhoo, I was at the mall yesterday to drop off my rings to get sized when I decided to stop by La Senza to look at possible honeymoon clothing. So I'm looking around and I see these cute hot pink corsets etc, then I notice that beside them were these cat-o-nine whips (I think that's what they're called)! I just thought that was so random! I'd expect to see that at you know, the "Love Boutique" or something, but I certainly wasn't expecting to see that at La Senza where many younger ladies (in their teens and such) shop. Am I crazy for finding that strange? lol

anyone have childhood stuffed animals or blankies still???
~*Kathy*~ replied to Michelle's topic in Random Thoughts
This is such a cute thread idea I slept with my yellow blankie until I moved in with my FI when I was 18 lol. I still have it, it's in my closet...it's so tattered though haha. -

Once you have your marriage license (ask fr a couple copies!) you have to apply for a new social security card first to change your name. You can download the form online and just need to send the form, marriage license and make a copy of your driver's license (the SS card is free). I got my new SS card in the mail while we were gone so I took that with my marriage license to the DMV to get my new license and ID, and then I went to change my bank info. I still need to change all my credit cards and bills, but at least the big stuff is done. I had to pay $25 for my license and ID, but my ID was expired. If it wasn't it would have cost $15. Hey Michelle! I'm glad your back and that you had a great time, I'm anxious to read your review! When you say you know that you have to get the paperwork translated, what do you mean? Do you mean the marriage certificates they give you in Spanish need to be translated in to English after you get them in the mail? Or do you mean our birth certificates need to be translated in to Spanish before we go? I'm so confused about the whole birth certificate translation thing since Gabriela (wc) told me that she does not need them translated. Please let me know if you can. Thanks!!
-
Congrats and welcome fellow Iberostar bride! Since you and I will in all likelihood have the same wc (Gabriela Palacios), shoot me a pm or post on the Iberostar thread sometime and I will try to give the info that she has already given me. Good luck with your planning!!

RyanAmanda's Bahia Principe Tulum/Del Sol Review
~*Kathy*~ replied to RyanAmanda's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Thanks for the great review! Sorry to hear about that Air Canada mess, no wonder they're practically going out of business...terrible customer service, I can't stand them! Re: The Spa, this must be a common problem at most resort spas in Mexico. When I was staying at the Grand Palladium in the Mayan Riviera three years ago for my FBIL's wedding, I gave them the exact picture of how I wanted my hair (since I was bm) and they totally messed it up! It looked nothing how I wanted and I was completely dissatisfied with it, and like you said, the hairstylist didn't speak a lick of English, so there was really nothing I could do about it. This makes me nervous since I will be getting my bridal hair done at the spa at the Iberostar for my wedding. I pray that they get it right (once I figure out what I want lol). Congrats on your wedding!!! Can't wait to see the pics! -
Post your bouquet and inspiration pics here
~*Kathy*~ replied to EDYTA's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I'm kind of in love with this one as it has everything I love in it! Purple irises, yellow roses (my favorite flower), and white & yellow mini calla lilies. I just don't know if it'll go with the color of my dress That and there are so many other bouquets that I've seen and love that I don't know what to do... -
I exercised today with my PT for the first time in six weeks and I hurt all over. He was really hard on me!! Oh well, that's why I pay him I guess! lol
