  1. Thanks MayBride2009! Those are some of my additional questions as well lol. Ugh...it's not difficult to see why so many people get married locally first...
  2. Thanks Katy! This is totally the one I'm going with, I can't wait to have it in my hands....it's going to be a long 2.5 months I think haha.
  3. Ok, so firstly, please forgive me if this is in the wrong place. On to the good stuff: I am losing my mind here! My wedding is less than 3 months away and I'm STILL not sure what to do about this civil ceremony in Mexico stuff! The internet can be a fabulous wealth of information, or if you're like me, a place to totally confuse you and make you paranoid. Here's the lowdown: I am booked to have a civil ceremony at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach (Mayan Riviera, Mexico) on Feb 19/09. My WC at the Ib* told me that all that is required from my FI is our long-form (un-translated) birth certificates and our passports. However, EVERYWHERE that I have read/researched online explicitly states that we MUST have our long-form birth certificates translated in to Spanish and authenticated (can someone explain the authentication process to me?). So, if there are any of you brides out here on BDW that are from Canada (even better...Alberta resident or born here) and are having a civil ceremony in the Mayan Riviera please enlighten me! I will do whatever I need to do, I just have no idea what that is and I'm freaking out. Sorry for the long post, I know you have all probably seen posts similar to this before but everytime I look something up about this stuff, I learn that I need to do something else or something new. It's so frustrating. Thanks in advance!

Eee, sorry for the late reply! lol Here's the color of my dress: I think it should go with it ok. I spoke to my WC and she said that they do not have yellow calla lilies (which is ok) and would add more white ones instead (I was going to suggest this anyway). What do you think?
  5. Beautiful pics, you two are such a cute couple!
  6. No worries! I think wedding stress gets the best of all of us some days hehe
  7. Great idea Maureen! I just looked up my flights to and from Cancun and they're still there...whew what a relief!! Here's the link in case any of you ladies want to look up your flights, good luck! http://www.airtransat.ca/en/3_0.asp
  8. Air Transat? I hope not! That's who I'm using, maybe I'll send my TA an email tomorrow about this... :/
  9. As other ladies have just said: Iron Man, Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean (all three, if he's in to em). If you really want to see how amazing Blu-Ray looks on an expensive flat screen plasma or LCD tv, I would suggest any Pixar movie (Cars, Ratatouille, etc)...cartoons always look amazing, especially on Blu-Ray. My FI is somewhat of a Blu-Ray and expensive TV (much to my dismay sometimes lol) enthusiast hehe. Do you have a sound system?

  11. I exercised today...unfortunately! lol My PT kicked my ass for an hour, oh well, at least he's fun to vent to about wedding stuff. Poor man doesn't get paid enough for all the ass kicking and counseling he does! No wonder most PTs start their own businesses!
  12. Hi Gail! Congrats on your upcoming wedding and finally choosing a resort -- I know exactly how you feel!! Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar and Paraiso Beach are on the same side, so I can probably help you with some of your questions. The name of wedding coordinator I have been corresponding with is Gabriela Palacios, she is an absolute pleasure to work with and usually answers my emails within a few hours to about two days, so very fast responses. Good luck and happy planning!!

  14. No offense to anyone with a blonde bf or FI here, but blonde guys and facial hair do not make a good match about 75% + of the time lol JMO! I don't watch the show but I've read enough about these two on Perez to make me barf forever and ever, so fake and so cheesy!!
  15. I've had acne problems since I was very young and started taking BC (dermatologist prescribed) when I was 13. I think it's helped a lot but it came at a price of a dry scalp among other things...I still take it though because as soon as I stop taking them, I break out like crazy, it's awful! Best of luck to you. Maybe talk to your dr. about Clyndoxyl (sp?), it's a pretty good prescription zit cream, but be careful, it will bleach your towels as well. lol Just a heads up! I wouldn't take Accutane unless absolutely necessary, last resort kind of thing, I've heard it's pretty hard on your system...
  16. I love both of them but number 2 is my favorite (I'm a minority on that one I guess hehe). I love its simplicity and you look like you have killer curves in it. Whichever one you pick, I'm sure you will feel amazing in. Good luck!

  18. Michelle - Did you happen to get your wedding dress steamed at all while you were at the Lindo? I'm thinking of getting mine steamed and was just wonderng if they have the service available and if they're good. Thanks!
  19. This is too awesome! I showed my FI and he said "I'm too poor to buy you any of that" lol
  20. No problem ladies!! MarieSam - That's awesome, hope you end up picking one of them, I'd love to see one on a REAL bride! If I didn't already have my dress, I would be looking in to these new ones too. I like her new DW dresses better than her old ones as well.
  21. Hey girls! The new Maggie Sottero collection is up on her website today. I am so in love with pretty much all of the new dresses. Any bride would be gorgeous in them. 22. Hi Michelle! I wouldn't sweat it too much, it's a pretty normal thing to go through. FI and I have been dating for 8 years and living together for 5 years. I know it's an adjustment for anyone when the "honeymoon" phase of a relationship has past. I still sometimes wish that my FI would do the sweet things he used to, like surprise me with my favorite flowers, etc...but I know that he's so practical in nature that he has a hard time justifying to himself why he's buying flowers (or jewelery lol) in the first place. I can't blame him either! My FI has always been a quiet person so getting him to have long, deep conversations with me can be like pulling teeth sometimes. Most week nights, we usually do our own thing. I usually go to the gym for 1-1.5 hours after work and he does stuff around the house or if he has a hockey game (plays on two teams) he does that. If we are both home together at the same time, we'll watch a movie together (if it's one I'm interested in) or both browse the web (sad I know lol). We used to be online video game addicts (we'd play one in particular together for hours), but we figured it was cutting too much in to our real life, so we both quit that. I guess, like others in this thread have said, you just have to make the time. We like to spend our weekends doing things together like going for dinner and a movie, or shopping. Please don't be disapointed in your relationship or your FI, everyone is too busy nowadays and it is very difficult to make time for each other. You will be ok!!!
  23. Michelle - aww I'm sorry to hear about your surgery. I hope you're recovering well! I agree with SunBride, I don't think any of us wishes we had that problem now :/ Good luck with your quest to gain weight!!
  24. Wow, awesome review Michelle! Thank you so much for this. Sounds like you had a great day and I think you look lovely in your pics. The train on your dress is soooo gorgeous!!!
  25. bakerisacat - lol oh dear!! That's hilarious! On that note, any cute lingerie for Valentines day? That's two days before I leave for Mexico, maybe I'll swing by one of em and pick something up haha.
