Ack! I'm so excited but so nervous at the same time!! I haven't worn the dress since I bought it in October (they keep the dress at the store right up until your wedding date because they claim the store is temperature and humidity controlled for dresses....I kind of wonder if they don't just say that so they can let other girls try them on...THEY BETTER NOT! lol...) and my weight seems to be yo-yoing lately since I haven't been able to keep up with my healthy eating since the holiday season has started. So basically on any given day I weight what I did in October when I bought the dress to 4 or 5 lbs heavier...would it make much of a difference? I'll be so upset if it doesn't fit like it did before. Sorry to ramble, just really stressed!!

You look so gorgeous in your pics, congrats on your big day!! I love your dress! Who made it? -
Hi MarieSam! Interesting topic, personally, I want to wait until the ceremony before FI sees me for the first time...not because I'm superstitious but there's just something about the first look during the ceremony that gets me I guess haha. Anyhoo, I think that if you want to do some first look pics then you should. I've seen pictures of people doing that and they are quite lovely.

I'm from Calgary, Canada and my TA had requested that I contacted the WC for all the resorts that I'm looking into and get info directly from the WC myself. So, I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong..Any comments? JO Hey there! My TA told me to do the same thing, which agency are you using? I have been corresponding with the wc (Gabriela at Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar/Beach) and she always responds within 48 hrs. Let me know if I can help you out with anything!

Hey there! I'm from Edmonton too, although I am not required by my resort to translate my birth certificate, my TA mentioned to me that there aren't many places in the city that do a good job of it, she mentioned that she could give me a list of some reputable people in Calgary that can do it. Maybe talk to a TA and see if they can refer you to someone? Good luck!

My dress!
~*Kathy*~ replied to Ryan's girl's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Love it! That looks very similar to one of the first ones that I tried on but wasn't nearly as flattering on me as it is on. Nice work! -
I'd just let him wear what he wants, providing it isn't horribly tacky. It might not be exactly what you had in mind for him but I think he needs to be comfortable in what he has on. If he's uncomfortable in/with what he's wearing, it'll probably show all over his face in the pictures too. Hope this helps, it's just my opinion though. Good luck!!

Ugh! Don't get me wrong, I love the meaning of Christmas and everything...but I hate all the good (and horribly fattening) food being shoved under my nose everywhere I go. I'm still going to the gym and everything, which is good but I just loathe all the good food being around me 24/7. Are any of you girls feeling this way? After Christmas is over, I'll have about six weeks until my wedding, so I need to be very careful these days and this is just stressing me out!!

Soldering?
~*Kathy*~ replied to ~*Kathy*~'s topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Very interesting answers, thanks girls! I'm kind of on the same thought pattern as aeroo but my e-ring and wedding band fit together like puzzle pieces, so I can't wear the wedding band alone. I know that my mom had her e-ring and wedding band soldered together and when she doesn't want to wear her fancy rings (like when she travels), she wears a plain gold band that she bought herself as a placeholder of sorts...maybe this is what I will do too. -

Hey girls! I was just wondering how many of you are planning on or have gotten your e-ring and wedding band soldered together after your wedding? It is something I am seriously considering... If not, how come?

How much is your trip costing your guests???
~*Kathy*~ replied to Corvette79's topic in Honeymoon Forum
Depends how long our guests are staying but here's the general breakdown: Guests staying one week (this price includes flights & accommodations) - $2,220.25 Guests staying two weeks (includes flights & accommodations) - $2,980.75 Obviously, staying for two weeks is a great deal...if you can afford it! lol -

How fast can a DW be planned?

Little secret...I got married months ago in Vegas, so we wouldnt have to worry about Mexico. It's not a set waiting period for the entire country. It seems to vary by resort, and I was told that each resort has their own guidelines for how long they want you to be there before they will marry you, etc. My resort's policy is three or four working days (can't remember exact number). Just wanted to point that out. -
Overwhelmed
~*Kathy*~ replied to pinkpetals3's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Hey there! Does that $1,400 include airfare? What time of year are hoping to have your wedding? Prices for resorts vary often by high and low seasons. If you can find one for $1,400 for two weeks, I'd be impressed. Everyone who's staying at the Iberostar for my wedding for two weeks is paying $3,300 dollars or so after taxes (this price includes airfare mind you). When it comes to weddings, I wouldn't put all my stock in a seat sale, you may end up with all sorts of mishaps etc. When I was looking in to booking my wedding in the DR for Feb 09, the prices seemed just as expensive as Mexico if not MORE expensive. Sorry to be such a downer but with such specific criteria, you will definitely have a difficult time finding some place that meets it, but I'll poke around and see if I can find anything. Good luck! P.S. What part of our fair country are you in? -

How fast can a DW be planned?
~*Kathy*~ replied to townie princess's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Hmm, it depends on the time of year you want to go away. I started planning my February wedding this September and I was finding it extremely difficult locating resorts that were able to get me in for a civil ceremony with the Judge during February. Winter months are crazy busy since everyone wants to be where the warm weather is. Personally, if I called my TA today and tried to get a wedding date for Feb/March again, she would probably have no luck at all. But you never know til you try, I would call a TA and start asking! Good luck!! -
Water shoes/socks???
~*Kathy*~ replied to Shay2679's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
My FI and I found some really nice water shoes at Canadian Tire this past weekend for $20 each. That might be on the expensive side but they look really durable and could probably double as regular shoes for going to places like Xel-Ha and Xcaret. I hope this helps!
