Amanda - haha thanks for agreeing with me and the other ladies. She went overboard on the eyes!! The lip color used was Chelsea Girls by NARS. Haha I only look pale because of that crappy cell-phone camera, if you look at my final fitting thread, you can see how tan I really am. She didn't use anything on my skin because she said she didn't need to. She complimented my skin when I first got there and asked me if I was already wearing foundation etc because it looked so clear. I will probably still wear a bit of powder/bronzer on my wedding day though. Tanning is going great! I haven't broken out in to a rash since I switched from lay-down beds to stand-up, so I'm thinking that it must have been the solution they used to clean they lay-down beds that was irritating my skin, weird eh?

Maggie Sottero Ireland dress
~*Kathy*~ replied to Detroitbride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I tried this dress on because yes, it's perfect for a DW...unfortunately it did not flatter my body at all and I thought it made me look preggo because of the way it cut me in half. But I've seen other girls trying it on who look fabulous in it. Best of luck to you, it's a gorgeous dress for sure!! -

Hi there! Though I'm not staying at Dreams Tulum, I can say that this was my problem and my TA assured me that the Iberostar Paraiso Beach was willing to make an exception for me. There is no set amount of days you have to be in Mexico to have a civil ceremony, it's just something that most hotels/resorts put in place so that they have the proper amount of time to get everything ready with the Judge and your blood tests etc. Talk to your TA and see if DT is willing to do this for you. You could always just do a symbolic ceremony and get married before you leave or after you get back in Canada. Lots of girls on this forum do that. Let me know how it turns out! Good luck!!

What is your Mom wearing?
~*Kathy*~ replied to imapepper's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
My mom bought herself a knee-length silvery dress with a sheer black overlay...and it's sleeveless. It's cute, I hope she's not too warm in it. -

Well, I just did my makeup on my lunch, I must say it looks a gazillion times better! I can't wait to upload the pics when I get home tonight to show you all. Ladies at work have been saying I "look like a model" lol it's probably embellishing a bit but it was sweet of them to say so. They love the eyeshadow colors, so at least she did good with that...I always figured it was an application problem. I'm very happy with how I did with it on my own at lunch haha. My boss must have thought I was crazy...I was doing it at my desk!

There's no Sephora in Vancouver?! I guess that makes sense now that I think about it. I was talking to my older sister on the phone last night (who lives in Vancouver) and she sounded shocked that there was a Sephora here in Edmonton lol...now I know why I guess. Yeah, Amanda has some great tips! The blush I bought practically looks like a bronzer to me, it's bareMinerals face color in "warm radiance". I've never used bronzer before, so I'm kind of scared. I asked for waterproof mascara and the lady gave me Tarte mascara (some kind of 4-in-1) and it wasn't even the waterproof version of it! The wand looks like it would make my lashes clump too, so I think I'm going to return it and get my favorite mascara - Lancome Definicils or Lancome L'extreme in waterproof.

lol thanks Amanda, you're so sweet!! You did your makeup?? It looks fantastic, I'm so jealous!! I would have someone coming down do it for me but the only girls that could even come close to doing it for me (and I'm being generous here) are my two sisters who can't even do their own makeup and my mom (who has very different tastes than I do). It's a very small wedding, only 16 adults including FH and I. I don't have a lot of options and I heard that they MUA at the Iberostar is less than ideal (and I'm very picky critical, so I'd probably just end up spazzing anyway lol). Yeah, she did make me look like a $2 hooker last night, it was awful!! lol I plan on doing my makeup at my desk today (since my final fitting is tonight right after work and I wanted to see how it would look with the dress on...) during my lunch lol. I think I'm going to do it a lot differently but still use the same colors and NO liquid liner! lol I'm having pics taken at the fitting tonight so I'll post them later for you girls!

And this woman ravaged my eyes!!! I told her I wanted a NATURAL smoky-ish eye and I wanted them to be the focus. Now normally I hardly wear any makeup at all, so when I looked in the mirror when she was done...I nearly shit a brick! She used way too much eyeliner not to mention liquidliner at that (which I never ever wear). I looked like I had two black eyes, I didn't even recognize myself. It all looked really pretty before she lined my eyes. Sorry, just wanted to vent. I will add a pic of it later when I get home so you can all see what I'm talking about. I just want to know how you would do your makeup if you were me? My pic is in my signature and I'm wearing very minimal makeup in that pic. I spent $170 there on makeup lastnight (didn't buy eyeliner, thank god lol) so I will be using the shadow and blush she recommended but yeah, wtf at that eyeliner. I'm just so frustrated, I have to do my own makeup for the wedding and I wanted it to be perfect... Here is a pic of me when I did my own makeup the last time I was in Mexico...thoughts? (I'm on the right)

Well, Valentine's day is two days before I head out for Mexico....so I will be using a spa gift-card my best friend got me as a wedding shower gift to get a French mani & pedi, haircut & style and deep conditioning. My FI is paying for my hair to get dyed that day too (yay, my hair is soooooooo boring right now!) so I'll probably be there for a good 4+ hours. I'm so excited!!!

Starfish Passing Thread
~*Kathy*~ replied to becks's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Aw, I wish I could have borrowed someone's starfish for my wedding.. Well congrats to whoever gets this one!! -
Bianca, I feel the same as you, when I go for a long time w/o working out, I don't know why I do that...and I don't know why it's so hard to get back to it either. But I can say that once you're in the habit of going almost everyday, it's somehow easier, just like when you're in the habit of not going everyday it's just easier to keep not going. Vicious, horrible cycle...
