  1. Thanks so much ladies! I'm sooooo excited to show you the rest AND share my review with you all!
  2. I'm so sorry to hear about your wedding struggles. I think with that many people already booked in, changing the venue is not an option at all. Talk to your FI and come up with a list of ways to make things easier on both you and your families financially. Good luck, I hope everything works out for you!
  3. Wow, those dresses are awesome! Nothing wrong with being a 3 dress bride if it makes you happy!
  4. Hi Ladies! My awesome wedding photog, Sascha Gluck lurks on these forums but is too modest to toot his own horn hehe, so I'm going to do the tooting today and let you all know that he put a few of my wedding pics up on his blog and in a slideshow...enjoy! I cannot wait to see the rest!!! Blog | Cancunphotos.net Here is the slideshow that was created - http://www.cancunphotos.net/darkroom/share/?n=Kathy
  5. Whew! I'm back girls! I had a blast and you all will love the Iberostar, I will post more as soon as I get a few more zzzzs! Love you guys!!
  6. I'm not doing OOT bags and it doesn't worry me. I don't think it's rude not to do them. Some girls do them, some don't...it's a matter of preference. Good luck with everything!!
  7. Erica, I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through this. It is an unfortunate situation and kudos to you for being the bigger person and putting your children and yourself first. Not only for the safety of your emotions but your physical safety as well. I really hope that your soon-to-be ex-husband gets the help he needs before he kills himself or someone else. You and your family will be in my thoughts.
  8. That's crazy, I can't imagine! I don't even yet feel I'm ready to have a pet, let alone a child! I shouldn't be judgemental either but I was more than a few years older than him when I did and we certainly took EVERY necessary percaution. I think there needs to be a lot more sexual education in schools and I do believe that they should talk about contraceptives, but that's just me. I know it's a controversial issue.
  9. Thanks LindoBride!! Yours is coming up very quickly too I see, I'm so excited for you!!!
  10. Cool thread idea! Skimp: - Pretty much the entire wedding I guess haha. I didn't do STDs, invitations, centre pieces or anything like that. - No live music, not even bringing my own music, just going with what is offered at the resort. - FI's titanium wedding band purchased at Metalsmith's for a modest $94! Splurge: - My awesome Maggie Sottero dress which cost $1,300 BEFORE alterations lol - My wedding band which was custom made and cost us $1,600...FI blew a gasket of course - My (after shipping costs) $85 earrings from Novica.com made by an extremely talented woman from India. - The wedding package itself comes in at $2,500 USD...in retrospect, I should have looked more carefully in to resorts that charge less or offer free wedding packages. - I'm not sure if this is a splurge or a skimp given our modest budget but we're getting a great deal on photography from Sascha Gluck, however, after the resort charges us their "outside vendor" fee for using Sascha, it will come in around $1,000 which is still a steal compared to others.
  11. Sarah - no worries, I was just saying again because I'm sure you're all sick of seeing that picture by now haha
  12. Thanks for all of your suggestions and thoughts girls, they are so helpful! Here's my dress (again, I know lol): And here are some inspiration pics: (from my HS grad lol) (on the right, this was taken from the last time I was in RM) possiblity for all the way up...

I think I want to leave down. Every wedding I am in I put up and HATE what I look like in pics.. ENJOY YOURSELF. Is there anything we can help with to get you ready Awww thanks Gail!! Your questions weren't silly at all!! Yeah, I know, I thought maybe I was just lazy but I think how much or how little you do for your DW is all personal preference, either way it will end up beautiful!! As far as hair goes, I'm still leaning toward the 1/2 up 1/2 down as I also hate how I look in pictures with my hair all the way up. I will definitely enjoy myself and will be thinking of you girls and taking as many notes as I can on everything so that my review is thorough and detailed. I LOVE YOU ALL, MY IBEROSTAR GALS!!! Thanks again for all of your info and support on this thread, it's been so helpful!!
  14. Ok, so...I'm freaking out! I still have no idea what I'm doing with my hair next Thursday (!!). I want to wear it 1/2 up 1/2 down but I'm really worried about my hair blowing in my face when we go to take pictures on the beach (ceremony is not being held on the beach, however). So my questions is...how did you ladies deal with this?! I'm seriously considering putting all my hair up so it doesn't look rediculous in the beach pictures...I don't know what to do anymore!
  15. Love those shoes! I saw someone post them on Projectwedding a few days ago. $400 is a lot but if you must have them then you MUST have them hehe Don't worry, FI would kill me too if I bought $400 shoes haha.
  16. Oooh, tough! I had the option of French bustle (which was gorgeous by the way!! Very elegant!) and a "regular" or American bustle as you call it. While I loved how the French bustle looked with my dress, at the end of the day, it was just too darn expensive. They wanted to charge me like $300 for the French bustle! The bustle I got done was only $60, so as much as I hate to say it...price was a big deciding factor for me. Here's a picture of my dress with the regular bustle, maybe this will help you envision it. Definitely when you go for your fitting, ask them to pin all the different bustles for you and take pics! Good luck!
  17. Thanks for the advice Andrea, I will definitely check in to that!
