I thought it would take them a long time since I have so much hair but it took them maybe an hour at the most to do my hair. I was out of there around 1 p.m. give or take a few minutes. What kind of hair style do you have in mind for your wedding?
  2. Hi there! My DH and I recently were married in the Riviera Maya on Feb 19/09. No one in our group of 18 had any problems. Good luck!
  3. Congrats and welcome around! I was just married at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach on Feb 19/09. Can't wait to hear all about your big day!
  4. WOW, great review Amarillis!! I'm so happy that everything turned out just how you wanted. I love your chair decorations too, the pop of color is brilliant! You look just so gorgeous and happy. Congrats again!!
  5. Wow, what a great slideshow! Congrats on your big day (one day before mine hehe)...you were a stunning bride! Elizabeth is so talented!
  6. I totally agree with request #2! My DH's aunt showed up to our wedding the day of (I knew that they were as these were the flights they got) however, when I was walking down the aisle, I did a double take of his aunt whose boobs were just hanging out of her dress for the whole world to see. It was completely distracting and they weren't small boobs either. Needless to say, I was pretty irritated. I didn't actually think that I would have to tell someone who should have enough common sense and decency to NOT show up wearing a really tasteless low-cut dress to my wedding. Sheesh! Don't worry, if she loves you as a mother should, she'll get over it and comply with your very reasonable requests. Good luck!!
  7. #1 and #4 are my favorites, I think they flatter you the most too. You look so gorgeous (love the hair flower too btw hehe)! Good luck!!
  8. Ryan's girl - Good luck and have an amazing wedding day! I was wondering where you had been Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back!!
  9. Hello fellow Albertan! Just wanted to say thanks for posting your review and congrats on your big day! You looked gorgeous and I love your dress! That cake-topper is too cute.
  10. This sounds so fun and this would give me some much needed motivation...I'm just thinking if we're doing this strictly scale-wise, I won't be much of a competitor as I lift a lot of weights (and I'm told muscle weighs more than fat). Are we allowed to enter if we use personal training? What does the entry fee cover? Sorry for all the dumb questions, just wondering how it all works. Thanks!
  11. I wore waterproof makeup just in case but somehow I managed to hold it together...which was shocking to me since I was positive I was going to bawl like a baby. Good luck though, it's tough not to!!
  12. Nicole - I love that...it's beautiful and the color is gorgeous! Is that the color you're getting it in?
  13. Thanks for sharing your review of your special day. I took a peek at your pics and they are amazing. I love your dress, is it a Maggie Sottero?? Everything looked perfect, including you. Congrats!
  14. Great pics, thanks for sharing and congrats on being a Mrs. now!! You looked so beautiful, everything looked perfect...from your hair to your dress to your bms (they were so cute and I loved their dresses). You couldn't have had a better day! That's so funny about the license saying "spinster"!
  15. Stacey - lol I'm surprised that's not how MY night went! I tend to go overboard when I drink sometimes, doesn't help that I'm a cheap drunk either I suppose.
  16. This probably isn't the most helpful answer but that's exactly why DH and I had a DW. We didn't want any of the traditional wedding stuff. But if that's what you have your heart set on then I think you two should definitely work something out. As some of the girls already mentioned in this thread, there are lots of options. Maybe make a list of the places you're most interested in and why and you and FI could go over it and come to decision together. Hopefully your FI will be understanding to the fact that this is a huge moment in most girls' lives and they want it to be personal and special...and that means something different to everyone. I wish you the best of luck!
  17. Amanda - awwww you were robbed! Haha that's ok, my DH is lucky we did it at all since I'm usually the kind of girl that prefers to do it in the morning rather than at bed time cause I'm too sleepy by then lol. Nic - LMAO, that's all I can say to your post! hehe Mrs. Martin - hehe, DH had a hard time de-corseting me from my dress as well lol he gave up half-way through, went to the washroom and then came back to do the rest of it. He did muse about cutting it off me, but I was NOT laughing lol.
  18. Wow, tight race huh? Just wanted to say good luck to my fellow nominated Mrses!!
  19. We totally did! hehe But I think that it's only because we had a really informal wedding/reception plus no dance, so we weren't as exhausted as other couples have been. If we had a dance and all the fancy stuff, I probably would have been too pooped to.
  20. Lindobride2009 - that is so exciting! Best of luck with everything and I can't wait to see your pics and hear all about it when you get back!
