  1. Jax - That sounds really taste, I'll take one of those right now please! Amanda - My heart really goes out to you, if I thought my pictures were awful, I'd want to wallow in my own self-pitty and bitterness too! And I WOULD expect DH to understand damnit! It is a huge deal to any girl and to make you feel like you should let it go is silly. I would do a re-do photoshoot like you are thinking about doing. I would insist on it actually. Tracy - haha that is an awesome idea! I hope you get the VIP treatment too so you can come back and tell us all about your amazing time in Mexico...take that media!
  2. Hehe, been there done that! I was a total slacker up until about one month before my wedding date. I can't really offer much advice other than you're the only person that can really motivate yourself. You have a goal, so that's a good starting point, now all you need is a plan of action and possibly a reward system (that doesn't involve food hehe) to keep yourself motivated. Wishing you the best of luck, let us know how it goes!

Apparently people forget that a dream wedding means a lot of different things to different people. Just because the global economy is in the crapper doesn't mean that brides should give up their dream day just to support their home country. Some people need to get a grip. Unbelievable!
  4. Amanda - I've heard that Newfoundland is like another world (in a good way of course!). I've never heard anyone say anything negative about it...it sounds like a fun place to be and I'd love to visit there someday!
  5. Woo hoo, congrats lady! Can't wait to hear all about it!!
  6. Jax - Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed but at least, like you said, we can turn this in to something positive! Are your grandparents from a small town here? I grew up in a town north-east of Edmonton with a population of 6,000 (4,000 in the municipal district though). So I know what you mean. I lived on an acreage til I was 18....fed the cows and all that "fun" stuff haha.
  7. Estella - Yeah, I find empire-waisted shirts and dresses to be extremely flattering and forgiving on my awkwardly shaped body. Thanks for posting this, it is a great tip for all girls with a similar problem. Michelle - I hear ya! I'm 5.5" and I'm all leg with no torso and no neck. I get so damn frustrated some days because all the weight that I gain goes to the worst spots imaginable and makes me seem even bigger in the gut since I have no room there to stretch it over (if that makes any sense lol it does to me). Ha, if someone said that near me, I would probably get in to a fight with them too. Not everyone needs to be a 00 to be happy (no offense to anyone that is 00). I think if you are comfortable and confident in your own skin then that's all that matters. P.S. Post more Michelle, I miss reading your posts!
  8. Jax - You never gave the impression to me of hating Ontario, just have a soft-spot in your heart for good ole' Alberta
  9. BBtoB - Thanks so much! I'm glad you like them! Gail - Group wedding with a big ass party, that sounds fun right about now! I can't tell you how sorry I am that this is happening to you and all upcoming brides, my heart is breaking for you all. If there's anything I can do to help you out, please let me know! <3 I think that you worded that letter perfectly. I hope your friends and family will be understanding of your feelings and the situation.
  10. Yael - Awww hun I'm so sad for you! Come to my place and get drunk with me, I know a really yummy German white wine we can have hehe!
  11. I love the color but I can't really tell from the side whether or not it makes you look preggo. From that angle, I don't think you look preggo but I can see why you don't like the way it kind of drapes down in an unflattering way. Would it be possible to suggest that they alter your for a more fitted look? Not all bridesmaids dresses need to be identical. These days, many brides will have bm dresses that are in the same color but different cuts/styles for different girls or some brides will have their bm dresses in the same style but different colors. I think it's a neat idea if you can convince your bride to go for it. Good luck!
  12. Lisaloo - I don't have a pic of my tattoo on my pc but I have a yellow rose on my right shoulder, I got it when I was 16. I love your tattoos, very nicely done! Calia - That's awesome and really romantic!
  13. Ugh, are any of you girls short-waisted by any chance? I am and it is the bane of my existence, shirts always fit strange because of this and I basically look like I have no torso so I'm always trying to find clothes that will give me the "illusion" of having a long body. Short body, long legs....sigh, why can't I have both? I guess I'm borderline plus too, I can wear anything from size 8 to 12, it's so crazy!
  14. Stephanie - lol I do that to DH too but I think he actually likes some of her stuff too, not that he'd ever admit it out loud. My favorite thing about Lady Gaga is that she isn't afraid to be herself. Have you read some of her interviews? Wow, she has "balls"! And her outrageous outfits she goes out in are always so fascinating (not that I'd ever wear them but wow!). Lisa - Go buy yourself a copy of Lady Gaga's album "The Fame" and you will be totally hooked!! Her songs are so catchy (and fun to work out to)! P.S. I also confess that I am a total blog-stalker lol! I'll stalk wedding photog blogs, Perez Hilton, Go Fug Yourself...I LOVE them all! hehehe
  15. Everything looks amazing! I especially love your wedding colors and the bouquets. Your pink shoes are a cute touch! Can't wait to hear all about your big day when you get back!
  16. I wouldn't mind a cross-country move. Sometimes I feel like the ILs impose too much since we're so accessible to them here. I know that sounds awful but MIL isn't fond of me lol.

OMG, yours says that too?!?! I HATE that line! I guess I better add a confession. I confess that I LOVE Lady Gaga's entire album and listen to it all the time and know almost all of the words to each song haha. I heard she was going to do a world tour some time, I'd love to see her if she came to Edmonton to do a show. DH would never take me haha so I guess I'd have to ask my best buddy.
  18. Hey cool thread! I don't know if I'm allowed to post here since I guess I'm not officially plus-sized but I am a lot bigger than most girls my height (although I did lose 20 lbs last year, go me I guess haha). I find it really difficult to find clothes that fit me properly still. Since losing weight, my boobs got smaller but my legs and butt became more toned and added a lot more muscle so I still have to wear larger pant sizes on the bottom. I have to buy large tops still because my gut is stubborn. My favorite stores are Old Navy, Jacob Connexion and Smart Set...for work clothes anyway.
  19. Ugh, like you wouldn't believe! I go in to an absolute frenzy! haha
  20. Danielle - omg girl, you are having a bad bout of bad luck! I'm so sorry you have to go through all this but like the girls said, you have a great attitude, so I'm sure you'll persevere! *hugs*

Oh Lisa! I know how you feel! You know how he can say "oh well" so easily? He probably didn't put a ton of time and effort in to planning the thing...YOU did, that's why you're upset and he isn't. He probably figures if you guys need to, you can always get married at home or some small JOP thing (DH suggested this multiple times). Re: arguments, that sounds like us haha. I sit there and lose my shit and he just kind of shrugs it off, which of course only makes me crazier! haha
  22. Aw that's awesome! Wish they had those prior to our wedding, thanks for sharing Miranda!
  23. Great pics and review! You looked stunning! Thank you for sharing!!!
