  1. That dress is beyond gorgeous, congrats on finding the one!!!
  2. I adore your pics!!! I especially love the one of you walking down the aisle with your DH's reaction to seeing you and the ringbearer with the sombraero (sp?) ring holder was too cute! These were definitely worth the wait! Congrats again!!!
  3. hahaha Erin! I totally agree with everything you just said! I think Kupono would be an awesome guy pal too, he seems totally fun and laid back. I'll go hunt some spoilers for you, I know a few places that I might be able to find some
  4. Wow everything looks amazing! I love your dress and the dress you got at winners!!

She delivered her lines without any real emotion it seemed like, she bored me.
  6. Erin, I shall keep you posted! I'm about 9 chapters in and I agree that the first chapter doesn't really grab you. It seems to get better further in, like Twilight, it's not aimed at "adults". The main characters in the book are all teens (and one of the co-authors is probably only in her 20s or so) so the dialogue is very teen-ish but I don't mind it. I'm reading it as fluff. I'll probably read more of it this weekend since the ILs are down and we probably won't be doing much other than sitting around talking about nothing.
  7. Ana that's so exciting!!! They look awesome!!! I am dying to see the rest now!
  8. Aw that's awful! I'm so sorry you are dealing with this mess. I really sincerely hope that she gets herself together and pays you soon, it's a very poor way to conduct business indeed.
  9. Well said, Kristin!! Re: Wave pool/lazy river? Really? Maybe they clamped down on security since February I guess. I never went over there during my stay but some people in my group said they got away with it. Oh well! hehe

But I will tell you this much, people in our group staying at the Iberostar Beach side did go to the Lindo/Maya side and used their wave pool without any trouble from the staff, I think the major concern is that (and I know this for a fact) they will not serve you any drinks, food, or any other use of their facilities there. My FIL tried to get a drink at one of their bars and they flat out told him that they would not serve him. Hope this helps!
  11. Hi! I hope you're talking about registering for gifts (sorry I'm a little slow today haha). Anyway, my DH and I decided against a gift registry as we felt our family's presence was gift enough for us...of course that didn't stop them from giving us cards filled with money anyway lol but they were not obligated or expected to give us anything and since DH and I had been living together for 5 years prior to the wedding, we already had everything we needed anyway.
  12. Amiee - That Carrie is gorgeous!! Love it! Eva - by Maggie Sottero This one looks really similar to my Carla except it doesn't have the lace and beading on the top, the cut is very similar though. It's beautiful! I think this is my favorite from the new collection though: Toni - by Maggie Sottero Perfect for a DW!!
  13. Carly - I agree, there's one other girl I have in mind that should have gone over the one they picked. Oooh, I can't wait for Karla to get hiphop! It should be awesome!
  14. I got mine almost exactly 3 months after the wedding even though they told me I would get it in 60 days. Oh well! Congrats on getting yours Amy!!
  15. Lisa that is gorgeous! I think your aunt is doing a great job of your dress and the lace is so pretty! I agree with you, I think the empire waist needs to be taken in to give you more definition, it looks too lose right now. I think if you want a strapless dress, then you should go for it, I personally think it looks better that way anyhow. Keep us posted on the progress!!
  16. Finleys7 & Tracyann - No problem! Glad I could help you gals out! Ctodd - I've seen a rehersal while I was at the Iberostar for my wedding, she's right, the officiant does not attend the rehersal which does make it kind of pointless (imo). I didn't bother with a rehersal and everything went smoothly for my wedding. I think it's whatever you're comfortable with...some people do rehersals so that the GMs and BMs know when to walk down and where to stand and all that jazz...I didn't have any GMs or BMs so it was pointless for me to do it anyway lol.
  17. I felt the same way as you about my wedding. We had 16 other people there with us (all family) and we did not send out formal invites or STDs. We basically just did word of mouth and told our parents to pass on to our family and friends that anyone who wished to attend could do so and I would forward the booking information their way. Due to the cost of attending a DW, most people did not express an interest...which was just fine with me! lol I say do whatever you're most comfortable with...anything goes with a DW, especially your own. Good luck!
  18. Gorgeous pics Tammy & Melissa, great work!!! I love the back of Andrea's dress...so beautiful!
  19. Happy wedding day (finally! ) Yael! I hope it's as awesome as you wanted it to be! Can't wait to hear all about it, congrats MRS!!!
  20. Carly - I totally agree! I really enjoyed Phillip's tango even if it wasn't "technically" up to their standards. Omg that "singer" tonight was totally lipsynching but she was awful at it, she wasn't in time with the song or anything, I literally laughed out loud about it. I am sad about the guy cut tonight but that's a tough one, if it were up to me, I wouldn't cut any of those guys. The girl cut I'm indifferent about, she's lukewarm for me and didn't really stand out in my mind.

I would like to stay at the Grand, but because there will most likely be little ones, we could not have the ceremony there, so I like the gazebo (at the Beach resort)for a location, would it be possible? Short answer is yes, you do have to stay at the resort you are staying at and hold the ceremony at that specific resort. The reason they do this is because they allow one wedding per day at each Iberostar resort on the property. The Del Mar/Beach are one resort so they allow only one wedding per day and the brides staying there get to use the venues on that property. Same goes for the Lindo/Maya resort and they are not permitted to use venues on the Del Mar/Beach side as there may already be another wedding that day using said venues. The Grand has a gorgeous wedding gazebo for its guests if you like gazebos, but you can only use the gazebo on the Grand property. Quote: Originally Posted by tracyann Also, does everyone need to stay at the same resort (if the ceremony is at the Beach resort, could people stay at the Lindo or Maya) or would we need to get day passes for those not at the resort that the ceremony is at? Thanks, Tracy This is going to be long-winded lol. Any guest staying at the Grand or the Lindo/Maya resort have complete free access to the Del Mar/Beach facilities (Del Mar/Beach is considered a "downgrade" and since you pay more to stay at the Lindo/Maya and Grand, I guess that's why they give guests free access to the Del Mar/Beach side), however, any guests staying at the Del Mar/Beach resort do not have transferrable access to the Lindo/Maya & Grand as they are considered fancier resorts (which would be an upgrade) Also, I believe that guests staying at any resort other than the Grand (were your wedding to be held at the Grand), would require a day pass to attend. The Grand does not under any circumstance allow children on the property as it is strictly an adults-only resort (not even for weddings). If you held your wedding at the Lindo/Maya and some of your guests were staying at the Del Mar/Beach, they would be required to purchase a day-pass to attend. The Del Mar/Beach and the Lindo/Maya resorts are all considered family resorts, so children would be allowed to attend weddings at either of these, just not the Grand. I hope this makes sense. Please let me know if I can further explain any of this.
  22. Missy - I got my marriage certificate back with what I believed to be the apostille but it didn't look like it was a "raised" stamp. It was a stamp on the back saying it was from the secretary of the government or something. Is that my official apostille? You have me worried now. lol
  23. Lisaloo - how in the heck did I miss this thread a week ago?! Anyhoo, I think it looks fab so far and it is going to look amazing when its finished! I adore the sweetheart neckline, you wear it very well. Looking gorgeous, lady! Oh wow, I just caught the second pic, that looks amazing!!! Your aunt is doing a great job, it is so beautiful!
  24. Wow, from running over a toe with a chair to amputation seems like a huge difference! My heart was breaking for your FMIL too when I read your post. I am so sorry to hear that she has to go through this, I can't imagine what it is like to lose a limb. I hope the surgery goes well and wish her a speedy recovery. Both you and your FMIL will be in my thoughts. *hugs*
