What did or are you wearing on your flight?
Mel&B replied to Outdoor_girl1010's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Abercrombie capris and tank. Nothing special, but super comfy. I also took a long sleeved shirt in case it got chilly. I think the bride tank idea is cute! I have a just married bikini that I wore at the pool the day after the wedding. -

I am going crazy!!!!!!! Just wanted to know how you are getting through the wait!!!! ok...sorry for the talk off topic...now, Hi Andi, We actually have a ton of non-pro pics, well over 1,000, so I'm grateful to my guests. However, I know sifting through them and putting together a slide show will be a lot of work, so I'm waiting until most people upload their pics. Even with all of those non-pro pics, there are barely any of Bryan and I posing together, and there really are none of my and my friends. I can't wait to get my pro pics!! I'm making it through the wait because I know my photographer takes the time to go through all of the pics and pick out the very best for his blog. He's so awesome. His pics are really like works of art instead of snapshots. I know it'll be worth the wait! Plus, it's fun having something to look forward to now that the wedding is over!!

Ok, we totally intended on staying the night apart, but in the end, we both just wanted a really good night of sleep. We slept together, and I kinda denied him the night before. He left early in the morning, and we didn't see eachother again until the ceremony. We were so busy the night before, it would have been difficult for him to pack up all of his stuff and leave our room.

Lindsay said your lanters looked beautiful with the ring of flowers around the base, but she thought the hurricane's would be better on my tables because I didn't have flowers to accent the lanterns. -
We are date twins, and I was just up the road from you at Playa Fiesta. We were probably getting married at the same time... how fun!

11 guests canceled today - majorly frustrated!
Mel&B replied to katken's topic in Just venting or funnies
61 people is still a whole heck of a lot! It sounds like those people were looking for an excuse not to come. We had 4 people cancel while we were already in Mexico because of the flu. It did nothing to dampen our fun!! Trust me, this is a glitch. You will have an amazing wedding no matter what! -
Hey Mishka, I want to say thanks for your great ideas! We used your idea for the caricature portrait guest book. We had our caricature drawn on our first night in PV. Our fabulous WC had it matted for us, and we brought the pens for signing. I love the way it turned out. It's certainly more silly than elegant, but that's why I like it! It will provide us with great memories for years to come.

Ok ladies, here are my runners. My mom made them with Lindsay's spec's for 59 inch round tables. There are blue and green beads hanging at the end, but I don't know if you can see them. I loved the way my tables turned out. I'm also happy with my choice to get the wood chairs. -

Hi Lindsey, I did get my hair and makeup done. I knew I was going to be really picky about it, and I was totally pleased. I highly recommend doing the trail and BRING PICS of what you want. Cristi doesn't speak English, but she's really good and so is her assistant. Her assistant did my sister's hair. I was very happy with their work! No need to worry. I have about 1000 pics on our photoshare site, but I'm not sure how to organize them yet.... I think our pro pics will take a while. If anyone wants to dig through our shutterly mess, the address is www.melissaandbryan.shutterfly.com and our pass word is MayDay. -

Or is it $12.50 one night and $12.50 again. It just seems much more affordable than I thought it would be so I want to double check, ya know!! Of course, we will again clarify all of these things with them if we decide to go with PF--just trying to plan costs first! Thanks again for all your help!!!! I'd double check all of this with Adam & Lindsay. I had D&E package #1 and the cost was considerably higher than what you guys are talking about. The "per night" cost applied to each night of the stay, not just the nights of the dinner. For example if it's $10 per person, per night, the total cost per person is $50 for a 5 night stay. If the cost went down, that's great, but I'd still make sure to get the info direct from PF. -

Quote: Originally Posted by Bunsie3 For those of you trying to decide if PF is the place for you but are a little worried about the cost, I will share some of the things we have done to keep things affordable. We chose PF because it is beautiful, private, and offered everything we were looking for. I did not want to get married and celebrate aftwerwards with a bunch of strangers watching. PF offered us the privacy we desired and the opportunity to customize our wedding to match our personalities and wants. We were worried about the room costs, if our guests would think it was too much, and if we would be able to meet the required room minimum. We called around to our families, bridemaids and groomsmen to inquire about their availability and the cost and were pleasantly suprised at the number of them who thought it was a great idea and good price. We then took a trip to PF with my parents to make sure it was as gorgous in person as in pics, fell in love with it and Adam and Lindsay, and signed on the dotted line. We let everyone who we were inviting know the date we chose as soon as we signed the contract so that they could mark it on their calanders and start saving if they needed to. We also chose a weekday wedding package, guests arrive on Monday and will leave Friday. We are getting married the week of Thanksgiving and the wedding will be Wednesday. The room cost was cheaper for our guests but the airlines tickets were more b/c of the holiday. I would recommend also considering airlines costs when you are picking your date. The reason we chose that weekday package was that I desperately wanted my neices and nephews to be able to come and they are off of school for the whole week and we had to take into account people being able to get the time off of work and figured around the holiday would be easier. Once we sat down and looked at the wedding day costs, we knew we would need to cut some of the things we had invisioned. Lindsay is absolutely wonderful with making helpful suggestions to cut costs and with not pressuring you into anything. I agree with Kate's idea of ribbon and other little ways of customizing your event that have a small price tag. I am bringing ribbon to put on the cake(black), wrap my napkins(white), and for the bouquets (white and black). Our colors are black and white with hot pink accents (mostly via the flowers). Im making black and white table cloths (well to be honest my mom and aunt are making them), found black cloth napkins for under a dollar a piece, and I found a great vendor on ETSY (great site btw for invitations and other wedding purchases) to make coordinating menus and placecards at a great price!! I have spent endless hours on the internet searching for ways to customize our wedding at a good price so if any future or past PF brides wants to compare ideas or prices on things I would love it. The flower costs are high, but I agree that there are definately ways to lower the costs and that having the piece of mind that they will be there, ready and beautiful, on your big day is very important!! I chose white rannunculus for my bouquet and hot pink ones for the bridesmaids. Since I have seven bridesmaids I am using the jr size for them which is a little smaller than the normal bridesmaid size and is cheaper. For my flower girls I am getting hot pink carnation pomanders with black ribbon. I know carnations have a neg connotation as being cheap and I am included in those that scrunch there noses at the very thought of them. But I went to a wedding recently and there were these gorgeous pomanders hanging everywhere and I loved them so much that I had to ask what kind of flowers they were. To my shock they were carnations. When they are tightly packed, like in the pomanders, they look great and I was ecstatic at the price the PF florist qouted for them! I am also using hot pink carnations to create a place card bed. Wow! Everything sounds beautiful. -

We used the "wedding week availibility" link on PF's website to try to get some info, and after no luck with in a few days we tried the contact email listed on the site. Is there a better way to get ahold of them?? r Adam and Lindsay are crazy busy right now dealing with the swine flu trauma. They literally get 200 emails every morning from brides and weddings guests for weddings happening within the next few weeks. There is a lot of hysteria going on, and they are trying their best to educate brides, grooms, and their guests on the true state of PV (no swine flu there) but as you can imagine, they have quite a bit on their plate. Please look at the wine flu spread on BDW if you aren't sure what I'm talking about. I'm sure once things settle down and return to normal, you'll get all of the info you need. Their communication skills are seriously second to none, and that is what made my wedding planning process to easy breezy. As far as flowers go, you won't want to use an outside vendor. Lindsay has wedding planning down to a science, and you should trust her to provide you with the best vendors. It's such a relief to be able to rely on her and your vendors on the wedding day. Can you imagine having to worry about your flowers showing up on the wedding day? I got candle package #3, and the only flowers we bought we the bouquets, aisle flowers, and bouts for the guys. My mom made table runners. I'll post pics soon. I was sooo happy with the decor. Flowers are lovely, but I didn't miss them in the least. I loved the way everything looked and I wouldn't change one single thing. PF is gorgeous, and I personally didn't need or miss flowers. Whew! Hope that helped. -
