We have just had some really bad luck with friends and family, deaths lost jobs etc. I feel like we are jinxing them. We did the partial takeover and have 12 rooms filled. We need 18. We have offered to pay half of the cost of the rooms for many people but still couldn't get them to come. We also have two couples staying offsite in a crappy condo . We offered to let them pay what they are at the condo and we will pay the rest but they didn't want to take our money. They just don't understand. Adam even broke down costs for us but they still wouldn't stay with us and they are in the wedding. Lets just say I want to kick them out!!! I don't know what else to do to fill rooms. I think we can get two more for sure but other than that we are stuck. We will have to pay for four rooms. Does anyone know what rate you pay? Since the rooms will be empty do we have to pay for the open bar/breakfast and the D&E if no one will be using it? we have had to cut things that we really wanted b.c we just can't fill the rooms. Anyone else have this problem? HELP!!!! Hi, We were able to book all of our room, but I just wanted to offer my support. Your stress will melt away once you get there. Your friends that are renting the condo are going to miss out on so much. It's really sad. I think my parents helped some of our guests out financially, and that's how we were able to get all of our rooms booked. I think it was understood that we would lose even more money if guests decided to stay elsewhere. The few that thought of staying elsewhere were so happy that they decided to stay at PF. We did have some guests stay down the road, but that was because they couldn't commit to 5 nights. As far and D&E costs go, we didn't include D&E in the room bill. We paid for it on the final bill, and I think we only paid per person and for the people that were there. So if one room only had one person in it, we only paid D&E for one person. This might be just because we didn't include in the room bill. I'm sorry for the stress you are going through, but you have the best week of your life to look forward to, so please be so happy for that! -
Seems like everyone is on the same page here! Yes, Jeff is HOT!! Where do you read BB after dark? CBS.com? It seems like we miss out on so much just watching the episodes on tv. I'd like to commend CBS for finally getting some interesting people in the house- annoying, yes, but at least its not just a bunch of hot, dumb airheads like they've had had in the past few seasons.
-
So is it confirmed by the live-feed watchers that Jesse and Lydiot are really getting it on? Or are we just assuming that?
-
Any more inside info I would like to say that I'm glad BB has a diverse crew this season. In past seasons, it seems like most people would have all come from the "popular" clique. Lydia and Natalie both annoy the crap out of me. How many time per episode does Lydia cry?? The love triangle is hilarious becuase I think they are all twits!

Ewww. I would die if my weight was posted on tv. That's just wrong!!! I hope the show doesn't focus on weight the whole time.

We had a group of guys that body-surfed everyday. The water is really clean and pretty in front of Playa Fiesta. As far as being bored at PF, there is no way! We had activities 3 out of 5 nights there (D&E Dinner, D&E Dinner, & Wedding). One night we went out for bachlorette and bachelor dinners, and on the last night there almost every person went to dinner at Le Kliff. -

With the whole swing flu thing, the prices have really come down for Mexico vacations. So everyone seems to be looking for the best deal. I'm just doing my best to sell the whole experience to my guests instead of a budget vacation. I've been to out of town weddings and it's not as much fun if you don't stay with the rest of the group. And that's not even for a beach DW! I'm sure we will get all the rooms booked, but I also want everyone to stay there for the best experience. I just know that the service they get at PF will be better than the other hotels. Anyone else in the same situation? I did have a few friends that were thinking about saving money and staying in a condo, but after it was all over, they told me how happy they were that they stayed at Playa Fiesta. I hope your crew decides to stay with you- they won't regret it! -

To be honest, I didn't get the date I wanted, and it was still perfect. It will be for you too! -

Unless the method of payment has changed, guests do not pay until they leave PF. They will give PF their credit card # when booking the room, but it won't be charged until they leave. There are no depsoits, per se. Jennie's right- it's best to contact Adam with specific questions about booking. You made a great decision!!! -
I'm also quite interested in the responses to your questions!

Dress shopping alone?
Mel&B replied to SDSteph's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I went alone. One the one hand, you don't have to deal with too many opinions, but it also made me kinda sad and crazy. I picked my favs, and then my sister flew in to help me. She cried when I put on the dress that became "the one." It was my fav, and her tears confirmed it. -

Evrim Icoz: A+ I’d like to let everyone know about Evrim Icoz, my amazing wedding photographer. I was referred to Evrim by Andrea from Sayulita Dream Weddings. We ended up having our wedding at Playa Fiesta in Puerto Vallarta, but I’ll always be thankful for Andrea to sharing Evrim’s work with me and my husband. We were instantly blown away the beauty of Evrim’s photographs. They capture so much more than what we are used to seeing from wedding photographs- group shots with the wedding party, posing by the cake, etc. Evrim’s pictures capture the emotion on people’s face and the beauty in the small things that happen throughout your wedding day. For example, one of our favorite pictures is of a drink being poured at the bar. It’s so unique that we are going to order it, and put it above the wet bar at our own house. We actually don’t even have a wet bar, but we’d like one, so I guess we’re putting the cart before the horse. The picture is so fabulous that we’re buying furniture to match it! We first met Evrim at our rehearsal dinner. He arrived in town early and stopped by to meet us. It was really nice to get to know him the day before the wedding, and he was able to get a feel for our venue. I think most of our guests met him that night too, and pretty soon he was just like one of our crew! Evrim is really easy to get along with, and that made it fun to work with him. He’s also extremely conscientious. We had lunch with him during our day after shoot, and he locked his camera case to his chair. Yes, he cares about his equipment, but more importantly he cares about your pictures. Evrim also takes a tremendous amount of care with his editing and handling of his images. He’ll use several different cameras, lenses, and other forms of technology I don’t understand to make sure he has the best pictures possible. I’ll let him explain all of that to you, but I do know the results are impressive! Evrim arrived early on the day of the wedding and went to work taking pictures of Playa Fiesta, our guests relaxing, and our getting-ready process. The wedding started, and Evrim didn’t miss a moment of the action. We took our group shots, and then he was off and running capturing everything that happened that evening. I’ve never seen a photographer carry so many cameras and work so hard in order not to miss a single special moment. When my friend leapt two feet into the air to catch my bouquet, he got the picture! We now consider Evrim our friend, and I want to highly recommend him to EVERYONE! We’ve spent a couple of evenings going through our pictures, and the only problem is that there are way too many amazing photographs. We don’t have enough wall space for all of the pictures we want to print! We’ll have these pictures for the rest of our lives, and they will always bring back the happiness in our hearts and the beauty of our wedding day at Playa Fiesta. Evrim, we thank you!!! Playa Fiesta Beachclub & Hotel Wedding Review Our wedding was on May 1, 2009, and it was a truly perfect wedding and magical day. Playa Fiesta is a beautiful hotel in Puerto Vallarta, and the owners are Adam and Lindsay Burgess. Adam runs the hotel and Lindsay plans the weddings. The have an amazing partnership and work together to ensure that you and your guests will feel like kings and queen for the duration of your stay. Lindsay Burgess A+: I’m starting out with Lindsay because she was the key to our perfect wedding. From the start, Lindsay was available to answer every question. She is one of the most organized and detail oriented people I’ve ever met. About 6 months from our big day, we started receiving the checklists that would help us to plan our wedding. Every detail was accounted for, and Lindsay knew the answers to our questions even before we asked them. She was always sweet and patient and made me feel like planning my wedding was the only thing she had to do (yeah, right!). I don’t know what time she gets up on the wedding day, but by the time I made it down for breakfast, the preparations were well under way. Lindsay runs around all day to make sure that the bride doesn’t have to worry about a thing. All I had to do was get my hair and makeup done. During all of this craziness, Lindsay is so gracious. She can tell people to get their butts in gear without being aggressive. She made sure Bryan and I were fed after our group shots were over, and this was something we both appreciated! Lindsay had the entire evening under control and made sure everything went off just as planned. She is the master ringleader, and we just can’t thank her enough! I’d also like to give a shout out to Montce, Lindsay’s assistant. She was very helpful and sweet, and I know she works extremely hard. She did a great job! Food A+: We love to eat, so the food was very important to us! We had several meals at PF. We had the Fajita Fiesta for the Welcome Dinner and the Mexican BBQ for the Rehearsal Dinner. Both of these buffets were excellent. The Breakfast Buffet each morning was also delicious. Eggs are made to order, the fruit is very fresh and tasty, and there is more yummy food than you can even imagine. Bottom line, it’s all scrumptious. We also had the fried ice cream one night, and everyone loved it! I think it’s important to get dessert one night. Everyone appreciated the sweet treat. Our wedding meal was the Vallarta Buffet. It was also really good, but to be honest, I don’t remember the food on that night as well as the other nights. Oh, but I do remember the appetizers very well because Lindsay saved us a plate (as I mentioned earlier). The tuna tar tar is out of this world!!! The sliders are also yummy. Our guests also loved the sangria. I was very impressed with the food all week! Wedding Cake A+: We did our cake testing on Monday. Lindsay brought us several different kinds of cake, fillings, and fruit to try. We picked chocolate cake, chocolate icing, and raspberries for the bottom layer and vanilla, cool whip icing, and strawberries for the top layer. The cake was the best wedding cake I’ve ever tasted (of course I am biased). Most brides say they don’t eat cake on their wedding night. I ate at least 3 pieces! Music A+: DJ Aldo totally rocked it out. We gave him very little guidance, but we danced all night, so I know the music was awesome. He has all of the newest music, so no worries there. I was so happy with DJ Aldo. We had a mariachi band play for our ceremony. I think I was too excited to listen to them, but I did love having them there. I thought it was a really nice touch. Hair & Makeup A: I was really nervous about making sure my hair and makeup were perfect. I got my makeup done at Laura Mercier and MAC in the weeks before my wedding. I brought the makeup from these at-home trials with me. I also brought pictures of how I wanted my makeup and hair to look. I think the preparation really paid off because Cristi, the hair and makeup artist, really understood the look I was going for. She executed my ideas perfectly. She used a little bit of my makeup and a lot of her own. Her English is kind of like my Spanish (not great!), so the visuals I brought were definitely necessary. I ended up being very, very pleased with her work, and I felt beautiful! Her assistant did my sister’s hair, and it was also beautiful. The one thing I want to stress again is bring pictures of exactly what you want. They can copy any hairstyle perfectly, but I wouldn’t come with only ideas in your head unless you speak Spanish very well. Fireworks A+: The fireworks were so much fun! They really capped the night of perfectly and excited our guests. Everyone was really impressed. Hint; get fireworks package #2. Flowers A: The only flowers I had were my bouquet, my sister’s bouquet and the bouts for the guys. We had ivory roses with green mums. They were lovely and exactly as I pictured they would be. I brought a flower wrap crocheted by my grandma, and the florist did a great job incorporating into my bouquet. Lindsay warned me that mums make for a thick bouquet. If you are concerned about that, I wouldn’t get mums, but I had no problem with it. I didn’t have a lot of money left in my budget for flowers, and I’m so glad I didn’t splurge on them anyways. They were the last thing on my mind the day of. Playa Fiesta is so beautiful. If you can’t afford a few thousand dollars for flowers, I wouldn’t even worry about it. If you love flowers and they are “your thing,†then I know Lindsay and her florist will do a beautiful job with your flowers. Ceremony Site A+: The ceremony is held on the sundeck, and pictures really don’t do it justice. It’s really breathtaking. Texas Hold’Em with Adam A+: We chose Texas Hold’Em with Adam as our entertainment (D&E package #1). I didn’t know what to expect, but it was really a blast. Adam is a great teacher. It was also another way for our guests to get to know one another. I’m so happy that we chose this option. Drummers & Fire Juggler A+: After our first group dinner (Tuesday night), we had a special performance by drummers and a fire juggler. The performance was first rate and so much fun. It set the mood for the rest of the week’s festivities, and I know our group really enjoyed it. It was a great surprise for our guests! Also, the performance goes on and on, so you absolutely get your money’s worth. I am so happy we decided to treat our guests to this show. Staff A+: I feel funny using the word “staff†because everyone at Playa Fiesta is like a big family. Charlie, one of the bartenders, told me that everyone works so hard because they are inspired by Adam & Lindsay’s hard work and motivation. The employees respect the owners and vice versa. Aldo, Charlie, Ramon, Pato, Carlos, Celso… these guys are all so awesome! They remember your name, keep you entertained, and just generally make you feel good (I’m sure the drinks help!). Our guests were blown away by all of the PF employees. Jefe A+: Jefe is the dog. I couldn’t leave him out of the review! He guards the hotel with a lot of tenacity, but he’s never to busy for a game of fetch. He’s a very sweet little guy, and our guests loved him. If you are still trying to decide where to get married, get married at Playa Fiesta!!! I don’t think the amount of personal attention received can be equaled anywhere else. We had the best week of our lives, and I know our guests appreciated our decision to have our wedding at Playa Fiesta. They would have traveled anywhere for us, but they ended up loving PF so much that they were sad to leave. We will be definitely go back as soon as we can! P.S. Puerto Vallarta is a lovely town. There is so much to do and a lot of history. I look forward to exploring this beautiful city more extensively on our anniversary trip. Here's a link to more of my pics by Evrim Icoz.
