Hi, We just booked our flights for our wedding/honeymoon but were wondering about customs. We are going from JFK to NTE with a 45 min layover in CDG. Will we go through customs at CDG or in NTE at our final destination? Thx!!!

If you know the names of the various resorts and/or hotels, check out tripadvisor. They have great reviews of the actual locations and candid photos of what the place looks like. And the forums there are really helpful so that you can ask questions. :-)

Thanks Everyone for the advice!!! I really like the idea of the thank you note. Is it redundant to write the thank you note since everyone already knows that the accommodations are being taken care of? I don't want to seem like I'm being "in their faces" about it.

Hi Everyone, I have a question that's been puzzling me for a while. Do you have to give wedding favors or OOT bags if you are paying for everyone's accommodations (for approx. 28 adults/3 children - 14 bedrooms)? Can the wedding favor be the accommodations being provided for? If so, we've already let people know that the accommodations will be taken care of, but how do you present it as a wedding favor to them? Thx!

We initially set our budget for $16K, but we already blew that out of the water when we picked our location/accommodations so here's our new expected costs for 28 adults (including ourselves) and 3 children (ages 1, 5, and 7). Accommodations for a week for everyone - $14,000 Welcome dinner 1st night - included in accommodations Breakfast every morning for all guests - included in accommodations Dress/Tux - $2000 (including alterations) Wedding & Reception (chapel, cake, & bouquet/boutenniere incl.) - $6000 Fireworks show - $2400 Musicians - $800 Photographer - $2500 Pastor/Officiant - $650 Hair/Makeup (Bride & MOH) - $500 Hair/Makeup (Mothers of Bride/Groom) - $500 Airfare (U.S to France, London, Amsterdam and back)- $3500 Rings - $3000 Invites & STD's - $300 Wedding Favors/OOT gifts - $200 Transportation (Train, Taxi, Car, etc) - $500 Honeymoon accommodations - $1500 Total = Just under $38K for everything (haven't thought about AHR but will do backyard bbq) Am I forgetting anything?? Also, we got quoted in Euros. Now that the Euro is dropping, we're saving a few thousand in the currency exchange. We were first quoted these prices when the Euro was at $1.46. Now the Euro is at about $1.23.

I definitely agree with the posts above about finding a good bridal shop. A lot of dresses now have multiple zippers for the various sizes so that whether you are a size 2 or a size 20, it can be zipped up so you can try it on and see how it will look. Keep searching. You will find the one that you will feel is "The One" and don't let people around you make you feel like you are any less beautiful!

We are actually paying for our guests accommodations so we are sending STD's and formal invites only to the people we have already spoken with and found out if they are a yes. For everyone else, we will send a more casual invite for our AHR. (Is evite too tacky for that?) Thx,

I just ordered the sample for my invite from Beyond the Invite. It's very very different from the standard invitation. The one we picked is in the FairyTale/Garden section - The Classic Set. It's a bit pricey per invite, but if you have a small group (we have only 15-18 invites we have to send out since we are only going to have about 30 people who are all couples), the total price isn't that bad. Anyone doing a beach/island wedding should check out the tropical/nautical ones. They are soooooo cute!!!! Hi Everyone, Here's our Boarding Pass STD. I have to thank Anna and the others for their advice from before when I posted my 1st attempt cuz I had a gaudy flower on it that they advised me to take off. Looks so much cleaner and better now! I think there is a sticky that people have posted to about the costs/budgets of their weddings.

I'm indifferent about changing my last name or not. But one thing's for sure, I can't hyphenate it. My last name is Oh. If I put it before FH's last name, it sounds Irish/Scottish, and if I put it at the end, his last name is an italian last name and I end up sounding like a can of Spaghetti-O's. LOL!
