I got an e-mail from my wedding coordinator at the Barcelo last night. I had asked about the photographer process so I could have something in writing. In response she also told me they now have new photographers there and sent me a slideshow. The pictures look pretty good. There are a few cheesy ones, but other than that I was impressed. Anyone used the new photographers at the Barcelo yet? -
We got around $100 off per package that was purchased for each room booked. Then through the tour operator me and my FI will get a rebate of $50 per room booked after the wedding. I would really suggest looking into a travel agent with destination wedding experience. I know there are a few on here. But just the tips and tricks we got from ours was worth it, especially when trying to pick a location!

Hi Cara, I am just in the beginning stages of planning our weddiing at the Barcelo Maya. I have not heard anything about free weddings at this resort. I just recieved their 2009 packages and would be happy to send it to you. It's very large though so I cannot post. PM me with your e-mail and I'll send it your way. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. We are using a travel agent. I am actually very lucky in the fact that my mom owns a travel agency and has really cut down on my researching of different areas and resorts. It will also make it easy for our guests to book travel. I have already started verbally letting friends and family know so I think we are going to go ahead and book it. Yeah! Now all the fun begins!

That is what we are thinking also. We have pretty much decided on the Barcelo Maya. I like that our guests can choose between the resorts. I am also starting to let people know what we are thinking so hopefully by the time our STD's go out it will be pleanty of time. Thanks for the feedback.

Me and my FI want to go ahead and schedule our destination wedding for this spring. It is a 7 month planning time from now until the date we have secured. If we get our save the dates out ASAP do you think this is giving our guests enough time to plan for our big day? Any feedback is appreciated.

Hello! My name is Shannon and me and my Fiancé are planning an April wedding in the Mayan Riviera. Right now we are still looking into exact dates but are leaning towards the last week in April at the Barcelo Palace. Hoping to make a decision this week!
