Wow, I actually think I've been procrastinating from posting all this because that means it's real and all of this planning truly is coming to an end! I can't imagine how much more difficult this would've been without everyone here on BDW. I've received great advice from everyone and found the bestest weight loss partner ever!! Thank you all so much for your advice and support I only have 6 more sleeps!!! I've been putting this together since the beginning so it's pretty long...here it goes Our engagement We got engaged on September 28th, 2007. We finally decided on RIU Montego Bay as our resort and since it wasn’t even open yet and they had great opening deals we got a great price! To allow our friends and family to save $$ for the trip we waited an extra year and we’re so happy our weddingmoon is finally here! Our monogram! After playing around for hours and asking lots of questions I finally found this site that is so well known here on BDW Sproullie Designs - Custom Photobooks, Invitations and more! She has great designs, awesome customer service and extremely reasonable prices!! Invitations We didn’t send STD’s because once we decided on the resort and booked the date people needed to start booking right away, so we sent emails, updated our website (we chose ewedding.com) and made lots of phone calls so that everyone would know how to book the trip if they wanted to. After a house fire (invite cardstock was in the house as well as laptop with invite layout) and a huge delay with our wedding planning we sent out invitations to all of our guests inviting them to our Jamaica wedding as well as our AHR the week after we get back. (inspiration pics from knottie brides) Our invites with DIY instructions on this thread http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t38771 (the font is just like the inspiration pic) more to come....

Legal question on signing wedding cert.
montegobay09 replied to tangles66's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
I would say you need to use your legal name right now...that's just an assumption though. -
Wish I could help. I'm going to RIU Montego Bay in 1 week but kids are allowed on that resort so I won't be much help to you! Sorry

Looking for a date/weight matched motivational buddy!
montegobay09 replied to Chanti's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Oh I hope you find one person that you click with!! I did the same and it worked amazingly!! I never thought I would lose this much weight and it's all because of the extra push of being accountable by my weight loss partner. It really worked best for us when we started emailing each other daily to share our gains and loses, our good decisions and our bad decisions (about food of course...well, sometimes we shared more than that!!). good luck!!! You can do it!! -
Wow, just enjoy every minute...even the waiting at the airport part!! You must be flying out of Halifax!?!! I'm guessing I have the same flight as you next week...Saturday at like 6:30pm?? haha,I think they just have the one flight that goes out!! Enjoy your time!!! Maybe I'll see you at the airport in Jamaica next Saturday...we'll never know!

You should PM Marshall1980 We write each other often enough and she's extremely helpful. I'm guessing she just didn't see this post or she would've helped you for sure. Her wedding is next Saturday and I'm going to see her there so if you don't get a hold of her repost something on here and I'll see it to let you know what I found out from her.

Canadian Real Touch Flowers...HELP!!!
montegobay09 replied to soccergurl3's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
A friend of mine used Bitter Sweet Wedding Designs (she posted above) and loved them so much that she convinced me to use them too. Crystal is great to communicate with and was able to deliver my flowers quickly since I was kind of last minute with my order! Great service so far! She sent them last week so I should get them very soon!! -

We got our cups in no time. We ordered the cups from eBay Store - Factory 21 Promotional Items: Shot Glasses, Steins, Pitchers And here's the final product... We also found Party Flops on this forum. They were great to work with. Alex was very responsive and friendly. He was extremely cooperative in working with us. He sent us a prototype using our own logo and let us use different colors for girls and boys, etc. I can not say enough good things about this company, I would definitely recommend them. Now I just can't wait to see the flip flops in person! The girls sandals are the white and blue, the boys are the tan. I'm so glad you had a good experience with PartyFlops too!! I love your design!! Now I wish I had taken more time to design ours...but I still love them!! Everything looks great!

Sunquest - Free stuff?
montegobay09 replied to soon2bmrsn's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
I'm not sure either. I thought it was through Sunquest as well but I'm aslo staying at a RIU -
I think it's really up to you. I can completely understand if you want the first look to be when you walk down the isle. FI felt the same way and then I showed him a thread on the topic. We then decided that we wanted our special "first look" moment to be betweem just me and him with no one but the photographer around. I think it'll be so nice to see him and take the edge off my nerves about the whole thing. There's so much pressure about walking down the isle (for me anyway cause I don't like being the centre of attention!!). We can't wait to share that special moment and get some bride/groom pics done before the ceremony so that we can spend more time with our guests after the ceremony and have more fun and less pressure. It really is up to you though!! It's kinda like the question about whether or not you'll spend the night before in the same room/bed...it's all about what both of you feel works best for you!

Is everyone doing a Sand Ceremony??
montegobay09 replied to YaelM's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We're not doing a sand ceremony...seemed like too much detail and then packing...not fun. It ddin't seem meaningful to us either. Instead we found something that was more appropriate and meaningful for us and we decided to do a hand ceremony instead... Sample Ceremony Here's a link for all the ceremonies -

Didn't get my documents on time...what now??
montegobay09 replied to YoursTruly's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Just to update...I contacted my WC and she found out that she didn't need that actual notarized copies until we get there. All she needs is the information on them. So I sent her the scanned copies that we made before we mailed them out and then we just have to arrive at the resort with our notarized copies (which we'll have to get done again now). Everything worked out fine after all! -
Sunquest - Free stuff?
montegobay09 replied to soon2bmrsn's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Yup, I got my free invites...I'm using them as a second invite to put in my welcome bags for the guests travelling to Jamaica with us. We wanted something with more character for our actual invitations but these free ones will be a nice extra. They're pretty nice too. We got the 17th trip free and used it for my trip...and I think we'll be taking the $200 voucher to the egift shop...thanks for the link!! We already have luggage so we don't need any more. -
