  1. Hello RMB brides, I've been reading LOTS of posts and I just need some clarification. When we booked our trip we confirmed out wedding date and time immediately through our TA. We were told that we needed two working days on the resort not including our arrival day, before our wedding. We are arriving on Saturday, April 11th, so we figured our earliest day to get married was the Wednesday the 15th making Monday and Tuesday our 2 days on the resort before the wedding. Now, as I think about it I realize that Monday is possibly a holiday since it's Easter Monday and I don't know if that gives enough time to be on the resort. If they confirmed the wedding date does that mean they checked on all that or should I contact them. My TA is away for another 1.5 weeks so I thought I'd put that question out on this forum to see what you think. Also, I was told that I would be contacted 2 months before my wedding to decide on flowers, reception, etc. but I'm seeing that some people at the ROR at least have booked way ahead of time. Has anyone from RMB had the chance to book all this stuff or did you get the same message as I did? Thanks ahead of time for all your help and hopefully calming my nerves!

  3. I know these are old pictures now but every time I see a different picture of the resort I get sooooo excited. Can't wait!!
  4. I'm getting married at riu mobay and was told the same thing as you... i could make arrangements for reception, flowers, etc when I would be contacted 2 months before the wedding. However, it seems as though others have gotten different information so I'm going to contact the wc as soon as I can to see why there are conflicting messages. I'll let you know if/when I get a hold of them with an answer.
  5. Hello fellow nova scotian. Do I see that you're a caper too?? Good to know there's someone else in Cape Breton asking the same questions as me! I actually know of 2 other capers getting marred in jamaica in april too...congrats and happy planning!
  6. It's definately hard to keep up and I haven't figured out how many points you need to download files so I keep trying them and even though the files don't open cause they say I don't have enough points...my points disappear as if I used them. Not sure how this works yet...I guess I'll figure it out sometime!! As for keeping up with the posts...I have to get my computer fixed and didn't have it for 3 days....WOW!! I had a lot of emails and tons on unread threads!!! I just try to use the search and keep the the threads that relate to my wedding. I'm overwhelemed too so you're not alone!
  7. Thanks so much for the info on the calla lillies. I have my heart set on a long stem calla lilly bouquet and I don't think I'd be happy with anything else. I'm not picky about anything else but I'm not a flowery type so I want something very simple and elegant. Thanks again for letting me know it's possible!!
  8. Does anyone know what the $350 charge for the "free" package is?? Is it for the officiant and legal documents?? or do you have to pay even more for that since they're not included in the "free" wedding package?
  9. Welcome to a fellow Jamaica bride!!
  10. Wow, So happy to find this thread! I'm getting married on the 15th in Jamaica and the weight loss isn't going the best for me. My dress fits but I REALLY don't mind if I have to take it in. I want to loose 10 lbs before the wedding so that I feel completely comf in my dress and bikini! Hopefully realizing my wedding is only 6.5 months away will help!! So far our planning is going pretty well but I don't have the details picked out with the wedding coordinator...that's making me worry a bit. So far we have... booked and paid for the flight and hotel. bought by dress BM's bought their dresses bought BM sandals bought FI shirt and pants. bought my jewelry confirmed wedding date and time with wc (still need to confirm reception) designed invitations and did a trial print out set up website picked out rings (not ordered yet) bought GM shirts (they're getting their own pants) I think that's all but I feel like the time is flying by and I won't get the rest done!! Good job for all of you who seem to be sooooo organized! Thank-you for the motivation.
  11. I'm getting married at the new Riu Montego Bay on April 15, 2009! Planning is going well but seeing everyone's posts about how they contacted the wedding coordinator already has met thinking that I should have done that already!!!!
  12. I'm having a similar problem but I can't just go buy another pair of pants. My dress is white but when I ordered FI's pant thinking they were white and they came in off-white I was disappointed. Now that I see some pics though I'm feeling better about it too. It's hard to find a pair of white pants that aren't very thin linen
  13. I completely agree. The necklace is very nice but the earings would be too much. The toe ring sounds like a cute idea though.
  14. Welcome! You'll get lots of budget saving ideas on here...just look around!
  15. I hope I can have that much fun at mine!! Good for you!
  16. If you're not looking for anything pouffy I went with ordering a bridesmaid's dress in white. It's much more practical for a beach wedding and it much easier on the budget. As soon as you add the word wedding to anything the price goes sky hight. ...just a suggestion!
  17. You look so happy and gorgeous! We have the same wedding date!! Happy Planning!!!
  18. Congrats! I'm sure you'll find everything you need to know on here.
