What a great idea. I wondered when we were going to do the first dance. You'll have to let me know how that works out. Is your wedding at 4:00 and your reception at 6:30?? Thats what mine is so I'll be looking for how that works out!! Thanks! I might go with fake flowers as well, I was just waiting to see what the prices would be. How far in advance did you have to order them?

FREE Snapfish Photo Book exp. 11/14
montegobay09 replied to princessina's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
AAARRRRRRHHHHHHH....I'm so frustrated with this Snapfish book thing! Sorry, I just needed to vent. I spent and hour and 15 minutes making that book last night and I made sure to save it and before I clicked "order this book" I decided to click on "share"...well.... that brought me back to the beginning with a blank album. I was so tired that I just played around for a bit to see if I could find it and then decided to just leave the page open and go to sleep since I knew I had till the 16th to order it. I got up this morning and clicked on "back to store" and I actually found the pics I had uploaded. I found them in what was called an album so I clicked on it but they only came up as individual prints so then I clicked on "order this book" and it took me to a page to order my prints individually...it won't let view the album I made so I guess I can't order it? I'm so frustrated!! I guess I should just forget about it since it's only a silly little free album but it's just the fact that I spent so much time editing it last night and all for nothing~!! I was so excited and now I'm just disappointed. Well, I left the page open just in case someone here knows how to help me so if anyone has any suggestions I'm very open to trying anything!! Thanks for listening to my vent!! It has helped me to de-stress! Gisele -
I assume that Riu Negril is pretty much the same as the other Riu's in Jamaica so yeah the first thing to do is to decide on a wedding package. As far as I can tell from the threads on here, probalby the best route is to go with the free package and then pay for the extras that you really want. If you contact your WC she'll be able to send you a price list for all that as well as book your reception location and time. I'm sure if you do a search for Riu Negril that you'll find more info. I found most of the price lists under Riu Montego Bay and some under Riu Ocho Rios but in the end they were all the same. Keep searching...it'll all come together! Here's what I learned that is necessary - if you don't want to go with the bouquets in the package you should contact the florist (ask WC) - find out who the resort photographer is and contact him/her to confirm a booking. - reserve your reception location and time early so that you don't have to settle for something that's not already booked by another bride! Like I said...keep using the search and you'll figure it all out!

People had over a year to plan and save for our wedding and I'm still hearing excuses and complaints. I just keep saying ..don't worry about it, we don't expect anyone to be able to come so the people who do come are a bonus! That's why we're having an AHR." Everytime we were ready to give up and say let's just get married in our hometown we would quickly realize that's not even close to what we want and we can't picture ourselves having a traditional wedding like everyone else. We want to enjoy our day and what better place to enjoy it than on a beach in the Caribbean??!!!!

We used eWedding.com You can get the free version which is very nice and then if you want the extras you can pay to upgrade your package. I didn't need to upgrade so it's all free! Someone said before that when they googles their name the website came up...If you make your website private (with a password) I don't think you'll be able to search for it on any search engine. Maybe you can't to this on all the websites? I wanted to make mine private cause ya never know who's lurking! haha

Feedback needed:Return Wedding Reception
montegobay09 replied to reevesbride's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I think it's pretty common! We're having a cocktail reception when we return and we've rented a DJ for the evening. We will have a slide show prepared of the Jamaica wedding so that everyone who's important to us has a chance to see the wedding/trip photos. I have read about others doing an outdoor bbq (which was my initial plan but it'll be too cold in April around here to do that), and others who are doing afternoon garden parties. I'm sure you'll get lots of ideas on this post. Also, if you're searching for other posts on this the letters AHR are what you're looking for! (I think it stands for After Honeymoon Reception?) -
Hello RMB ladies!! I was feeling like I didn't know enough info about everything and as much as I appreciate all the info that the ROR brides have, I didn't want to assume that everything would go the same way at RMB so after Indigo posted her info I sent quite a few emails and here's what I learned... (if you want any of the documents that I mention just pm me with your email and I'll send them to you...if it gets to be too much I'll try posting them here). WC at RMB I used the contact email address that we all have [email protected] and the person who replied to me was Chantelle Hemans who is now my WC at RMB. She seems to be on the ball and responded to my first email withing 24 hrs. Since then we have been emailing back and forth about booking the reception. She has emailed me now 3 times within the last 48 hrs. so she seems to be pretty easy to get a hold of! She sent me a ton of price lists for private beach party reception, conference room reception, etc. as well as price lists for the salon. She is super helpful! private receptions - I loved the idea of the beach BBQ dinner but it looks like they chard $20 pp for set up as well as $40 pp for the menu...a little too much for food that you've already paid for with the AI price! Photographer I contacted Michael ( [email protected] ) who is the resort's photographer who you do need to contact to book him for your wedding! (like Indigo said, outside photographers are not allowed in) In the same day he responded to my email with a price list and tons of samples of weddings he's done in Jamaica. I like his photos!! Now I need to fill out a form with my wedding day specifics and what package I would like to order..this is to confirm that he is booked for my wedding. He's also very easy to get a hold of. Florist I contacted the resort's florist because I really want white calla lillies and I've heard they have to order them in way ahead of time since their not easy to get. I wanted to make sure it wasn't too expensive...if so I will probably go with fake flowers. No one has contacted me from this store since I emailed over a week ago...I'll let you know if I hear anything! Excursions As I already mentioned in a prior post, my trip is booked with Sunquest and I was able to get a list of excursions in MoBay...when they leave and what days they are available. Our Sunquest person said that if we 12 people who wanted to book we could arrange for that ahead of time. I think that we'll hold off on that though...I'd hate to ask people to commit to spending more money before we even get there!! I think that's about all I have right now. If anyone has anything to add that would be amazing. I know we have two brides leaving in the next few weeks so I'm sure we'll have a lot more info when they get back! RMB12/4/08 and Indigo we're counting on you for very detailed wedding reviews about ceremony decorations, reception decor, extra costs...and lotsof pics!! I hope you have an amazing trip and that you enjoy every second of it! Don't stress about the wedding...just have a blast!

When do to welcome dinner... opinions...
montegobay09 replied to nscaper's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Hi there fellow Nova Scotians... and a fellow caper too!! I'm in the same boat as you. We also arrive late Saturday evening and I think what I plan to do is ask everyone to meet us for breakfast the next morning (Sunday) which is where I'll give out the OOT bags and let them know which excursions we're going on in case they want to join us, and maybe show them exactly where the wedding ceremony is. I thought it would be nice too if I made sure everyone understood that they don't all have to stick with us, just to enjoy their trip and do what they feel like doing. I don't know what their expectations are so I feel like if I just put it out there everything will work out. I havn't really thought about a rehersal dinner...I don't think I'm having one...is that awful? -
What do you think about these favors?
montegobay09 replied to montegobay09's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Of course I'll share. I got the address from a fellow BDW bride who had them at her wedding. The site is completely in spanish but if you click on the sandals one you get to see all of the designs. You can even design your own and ask them to do it for you. I contacted them through the website and they emailed me the next day telling me that the women's flip flops were $3.50 and the men's are $4.50 I think what I'm going to do is order women's sizes with brown bottoms and turquoise on the "thong" part and then men's all brown...and then just get our names and wedding date and location printed on them. I don't want to have to travel with them so I think I'll get them to ship one of each pair to me and then ship the rest directly to the resort...do you guys see any problems with that? Thanks so much for your input!!! I love this forum!! Here's the site! - Part Flops! Party Flops -
Hi girls! I'm not sure what to do for favors when we're in Jamaica and I was really wanting to order some custom flip-flops (I found a really great company to order from). Is it ok to give flip flops as favors..or is that tacky?...I know that favors are usually given out at the reception/dinner but is it ok to give the favors out before the ceremony so that guests have the option of wearing the flip flops in the sand if they choose to do so?

As I said before, I emailed that company and they were more than willing to ship to North America and said they even had a 1-800 number getting set up very soon. He told me that the women's sizes are $3.50 and the men's sizes are $4.50 I don't know if that helps anyone but I thought I'd let y'all know. Where did they get the cute bags they were packaged in??

I am trying to find a really nice dressy ones with rhinestones, etc... Here's a pic of the one's I found on ebay I really like them and they're super comfy so I'll be able to wear them all evening! There are lots of other beautiful wedge sandals that you can find...especially on ebay! Good luck! -

If you really want to do something push yourself extra hard at the gym and go for an extra 1/2 hour walk. Don't forget to drink lots of water! I finally broke my plateau this week and I'm really excited about losing even more now! FI just went and bought a ton of groceries so we don't have to resort to eating out. I'm so excited for next week's weigh in!! Hopefully I can reach my Christmas goal cause I have a feeling it's going to be a rough holiday season with all the yummy food everywhere! I noticed that after I ate Chinese food on Tuesday for supper that all day Wednesday I was craving junk food. There were cookies in the break room at work and they called out to me every time I walked by!! "EAT ME" But today my cravings are gone so I obviously got passed whatever caused the cravings! Has this happened to anyone else...you cave for one junk food and all the rest keep calling your name??

A quick question...I'm thinking of doing these now and I contacted that store in Mexico city and they're willing to make me up an order...but...my oot bags are pretty full and the cost of everything is beginning to pile up. I hadn't decided on wedding favors yet...would in be appropriate to have the flip flops as favors or is that tacky??
