Hi ladies haven't kept up with this thread since I changed resorts. Is Zulma still around? I gave my $300 deposit last year but then decided to change resorts. She told me I can still use it for whatever I wanted (spa for example). Anyway would like to get that confirmed before I head over. If there is another person I should contact that is more responsive please let me know. Thank you in advance.

Has anyone rented the A/V equipment on site? We are dealing with the resident company AVI SPL and we are renting everything from speakers to a projector. Total is around $2000 USD. Anyway they have been great to deal with. My only issue is that they want me to pay everything by cash. No travelers cheques no credit card. I don't plan on bringing $2000USD with me on the plane nor do I plan to venture to town and go to the local bank and withdraw the money. They said they need cash so they can pay their workers at the end of our wedding. I argued we can give them the travelers cheques the day we arrive (4 days before our wedding) and he can cash it and have the money ready for his workers. Or I could pay pal him the money or pay by credit card over the phone today. Or I can pay Marialma by credit card and she can pay him. Did anyone have any issues with this?

Photobooth rental in PDC?
EmenGeeRoxx replied to EmenGeeRoxx's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Wedding Vendors
Here is another option Instant Digital Camera - Polaroid You will need a ton of batteries though as it only prints 20 photos per battery. If you go to eBay you can probably get some cheap batteries. -

Photobooth rental in PDC?

Contacted these guys, but website says 2012 Wedding DJs in Mayan Riviera Mexico Photo Booths -
Does anyone know of a company that provides a photobooth service. I have seen these at a few weddings where the guests will enter a photobooth and have 4 shots taken and they simply stick it on a scrap book and sign a message. Looked more creative and fun than your standard guestbook. Anyway if anyone has info or recommendations/reviews please let me know. Thanks.

Hmmm I wanted to send things down too. I asked my wedding coordinator about this and this is her response "Not a problem. You can send as many things as you want ahead of time; I'll store them for you. Now please before you send anything check with the company you are using if what you are sending is allowed into Mexico. I had past experiences with brides that they lost everything because one thing is their box wasn't allowed and they couldn't rescue anything. Everything was thrown away by customs." I am curious to know also how many things get "misplaced" or "lost" by customs.

Any chance to get them done based on Canadian passports since we're from Canada? I am sure she can do anything. We are Canadian, but we just followed a template Ana had and modified it. So I am sure you can do the same to make it look exactly how you want it.

I think it is the coolest, most interesting wedding invitation that I've ever seen!!! Can't wait to go!!!"

But, here are some of the emails I am getting from our guests "we got the invitation today!! we are SO impressed with it! WOW great job you guys! cant wait!" "OMG your invitiation is the best thing i have ever seen" "hey i received your invite i luv it..its so original" "Love the invitation!"

Quote: Originally Posted by svetayasofiya Wow..... sounds like we are all experiencing the same disappointments. I am lucky all our family is booked, but last night (the day before final payment was due) my fiancee's two groom men backed out. I was shocked to say the least because they committed months ago and even paid deposits. They've known for a year about our plans and now all of a sudden... one can't afford it so the other is backing out too because he doesn't want to go alone. I couldn't believe it. I was working hard last night trying to get him a good rate for single occupancy and he says "if I knew ____ wasn't going to come I wouldn't have booked because I don't want to go alone". I was so hurt by that comment, I started to cry and said you'd miss your best friends wedding because you don't want to go alone? I was so upset I had to hang up. The worst is my fiancee is really upset and extremely hurt, but he tells them it's ok. NO IT'S NOT!! He even said to me last night that in the beginning he didn't think anyone would come, then when they all put down their deposits he got all excited... backing out like this is such a blow. He has one friend coming now. I have three bridesmaids and he has a best man. We are all going to be lopsided, lol But seriously.... how do you get past the selfishness of others? We are really starting to see who our true friends are. I dunno... if it was me I would have been saving for months and without question would be there. Sorry to hear. We ran into the same issue. My fiancee originally had 5 bridesmaids but 3 backed out. I had already asked 5 of my closest friends to be groomsmen and they all accepted. Now with only 2 bridesmaids it created an imbalance so I decided to cut 3 groomsmen. I decided keeping the guys who were partnered with the 2 remaining bridesmaids. Luckily my uys are cool and totally understood; no drama and no fuss. I still have them part of the wedding doing some important stuff for us like that veil, cord and coin (cultural stuff). It works out as the 2 bridesmaids who remain are way more responsible and caring. The others who backed out seemed to be in their own little bubble and who wants that? I don't have patience for that sh!t. All in all we have 78 people now confirmed. However there are a few key people that we really wanted to come who promised and now they backed out. My fiancee was really hurt and disappointed, but I told her not to worry about those people. What matters is the 78 people who have booked and are coming to spend an amazing week with us. Those are the people that took the time to save and plan their vacation so they can spend the week with us. Those are the truly important people and we are grateful for them. -
