I mean, dumb question from the chick holding her wedding gown... but still. I just don't want any problems. And for past brides when they went through your stuff... did they mess everything up? I am soooo anal, and pack like I am playing Tetrus. LOL I remember back a month after 9/11 I flew to Vegas and on the way home while going through customs the officer asked if at any time did we leave our luggage unattended. I STUPIDLY said yes, with the hotel concierge... he went through everything right there in front of everyone incl. a plastic bag full of dirty underwear. ? You are good to go. One bag compared to the 12 I brought will be nothing for them. Yup just be honest saying you are there for your wedding, smile, be pleasant and everything will be ok. In our case they didn't mess with anything. They opened up about 4 of the 12 luggages, saw the receipts on top and closed it. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be.

Tan/white Suit
EmenGeeRoxx replied to amybermuda's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
I wore a diamond white suit with an ivory vest. Was going to go with black but the wifey didn't want it. Glad I went with this. -

There is a great thread on this. I can't seem to find it now but everyone gives really good advice. You can try searching for it. Can someone help me regarding my question about the photographer. I am really worried that if I give my full payment in cash to my photographer I will never hear from him again. How are the rest of you paying for it? Thanks alot!! I saw that you are using Mike Cantarell. He is from Claudia Rodriguez' team. I used Citlalli Rico and Jerry Guzman from the same team. They were straight up pros. I wouldn't worry. They have a pretty good track record if you search the posts on this forum.

I am pretty disappointed in Zulma. She never emailed or returned my calls regarding my deposit. She said I could use my deposit for a massage. We actually went down to the Royal last Sunday but the Wedding Center was closed. It is actually a huge designated office so not sure how they can be so overwhelmed. The place where I got married has weddings almost daily and the coordinator there was on point and so responsive.

CRAP! but they were very nice, opened, poked around a little, asked her if she was coming down for a wedding- she said yes, they closed the bags, that's it. they didn't ask for any receipts. good thing, because i had them, and trying to explain why i didn't claim the bags in the first place might have been tough. the other important note to add here is that i had just about $300 worth of merchandise, and did not have OOT bag stuff. i think that if they saw some of that stuff they would have wanted receipits. i did have: 24 raffia fans 50 plastic cups 20 wine toppers 30 4" starfish happy packing! We had so many luggages that they asked us if we had any gifts. I said we had 80 gift bags for our guests and I said NOT for resale. They let us pass. I think they were overwhelmed with all the other crap we had they just let it go. I honestly think just being nice and smiling helped a lot.

Mariachi Band - Riveria Maya
EmenGeeRoxx replied to marny61's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Wedding Vendors
I paid $350USD for a 4 piece band but it came with 7. They played over the 45 minutes required and followed us down 5th and kept playing. Amazing! -

I am sorry Morgan had a bad experience, but my experience was great. I dealt with someone named Enrique Astudillo and he was prompt to answer all my questions. I also used Playa.info to book six 14 passenger vans to transfer all my guests from the resort to the city and back. They were also great and punctual. No complaints here only praises!

Mariachi Band - Riveria Maya
EmenGeeRoxx replied to marny61's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Wedding Vendors
The Mariachi Band I had was amazing: Coral del Caribe and the person in charge of them is Efrain Coral. His phone number is 984 105 1542 but he only speaks spanish. -
Just got back after 11 days. Amazing time. Words cannot possibly even come close to describing what an incredible experience this was. Marialma is great to work with and yes don't worry about a deposit. You just have to pay when you get there. When we arrived we met with Marialma and all of the vendors. She had everything all on lock and setup. She runs a tight ship so don't worry about anything. Thanks for all the tips from everyone here. Sarao did a spectacular job with the decorations. The Mariachi band was a nice touch to our Ceremony. Citla Rico from Claudia Rodriguez Photography was also a pleasure to work with. Lomas provided the Limo and Playa.info transported all our guests to the Capilla in town. Doranna is also amazing and my wife's hair was beautiful. We even danced a four minute salsa/lyrical/tango routine and it stayed in tact. Honestly just too many great things that happened the whole week+ trip and especially the wedding day. I'll post a FULL review soon to make sure I don't miss anything. Just have to let the tequila leave the system so I can function normally again! The resort is huge but if there is one thing I can suggest is bring 2 way radios or walkie talkies. We had 80 people and these devices were a must to organize everyone. Ok time for sleep!

Hi everyone I was originally supposed to stay at the Royal but had to move everyone because of cost. I am leaving in a few hours for my wedding but I wanted to thank everyone here on this thread who helped along the way. I am just a groomzilla but you all made me feel welcome and were so helpful. Thanks again and best of luck to all of you on your upcoming weddings.

Dollerama Finds
EmenGeeRoxx replied to isaidyes's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Dollarama rules. We pretty much got all our OOT stuff from here. The 4 pack axe effect is awesome. We also found great picture frames we will use for our tables. There are some similar stuff here that is found at Michaels but literally 10x cheaper. Very happy to have discovered Dollerama! -

Hope this helps, good luck Thanks for ALL the info. We are going to Doranna's place for the trial. I'll drop off the fiancee and then head to 5th and meet the rest of my guests.

I am using Claudia Rodriguez as my photographer... From what I understand $65 is for a half day. So hairstylist usually comes in the morning only. Full day pass = $125. So if you have a vendor like a photographer from morning to night then this is what you have to pay. Also some photographers bring an assistant so that will double your cost. Make sure you find that out. I am bringing Claudia's team: Citlalli (photo) + her assistant + Gerardo (video) for the whole day so that is $125x3. Lucky me!

Thanks just making sure Zulma was still around. Yeah I have her email stating I could use my deposit for something else like the spa and my deposit receipt from the bank. Guess I'll just show up at the Resort with all of this.

If there is another person I should contact that is more responsive please let me know. Thank you in advance. Just bumping my own post if anyone has any info. Thanks and Happy New Year

We rented a speaker to hook up to my ipod for like $50, and one of my guests was the mc. The only problem was my heels kept getting caught in between the planks of the deck. It was very windy which kept the guests cool. My legs were a bit hot under my dress though but I think it was worth it to be so close to the ocean. professional pics pictures by dawnandjeremy09 - Photobucket There is the address to look at my professional pics on photobucket. You can see the girl who did my hair who was great. She is from the spa at the resort and the girl who did my sisters hair who was not so fabulous as her hair was falling out in the room before the wedding. My hair was falling out after the wedding but with such high humidity and the wind I accepted it as being a downfall of the beautiful location. You can also see the reception site. Hope this helps. Dawn Thanks! Do you mind if I send one of your pics to Marialma so she can identify the "good" hairdresser? And for the ladies that brought in Doranna, is $190US her coming to the resort? Is that including all her travel and parking. Did you have to pay for a daypass for her or was she excused? Thanks!
