Anyone have a trick for getting a great deal on a hotel?
FoxyBride replied to rodent's topic in Honeymoon Forum
I love Priceline for hotels too, especially in this economy. Even the busiest hotels have tons of rooms that they need to fill and more and more are using Priceline. I booked a 3.5 star in Cleveland for $40/night. When I checked in there was a lady in front of me asking for rates and the desk clerk told her $120/night. -

So, I am also super jealous but happy for you that you got such a great deal. Plus I'm glad to see someone else liked this dress style. It took my mom and aunts about two months to decide that the dress was not all that bad - I still don't think they actually like the dress. They would have rather seen my MOH and I choose a dress that is more BM-like. But, we loved it. I can see where moms & aunts might not be too sure about the dress since it's far from traditional. I absolutely didn't want a traditional dress but my mom hasn't seen the dress yet. If she hates it though, I suppose she can just sit in the back... LOL.

Our dogs are known escape artists so I texted my FI and asked him did he leave the dog's out of their kennels. He said no so I told him they must've broke out because there was paper and dog poo all over the house. He was flipping out talking about how he made sure he closed the doors and how much trouble they were in. I let him go on for a few minutes before I told him the dogs were calmly sitting at my feet and hadn't damaged anything. His friends were in the car with him so they were making fun of him b/c I tricked him.

We were thinking of ordering custom linen suits from Studiosuits.com, Custom Suits | Designer Suits. I'd love to see your review of Hugestore.com YoursTruly. We were also looking at ordering from there. -

One thing to consider is whether a foundation has sunscreen in it or not. Makeup artists will tend to avoid foundations with sunscreen for events where you will be photoigraphed (such as weddings!) because they tend to contain titanium dioxide. Titanium dioxide may give your face a white-ish cast with flash photography. AFAIK, MAC Studio Fix Fluid contains sunscreen (has SPF 15) so you might want to test out how it looks on you in flash photography before you commit to using it your wedding. (BTW, I use MAC Studio Fix Fluid myself and love it, but will not be using it for my wedding) For MAC foundations, the Studio Stick (or the airbrush makeup) is considered the best for flash photography. I don't know about the new Studio Sculpt. Right now I am trying out Makeup Forever (MUFE) HD Foundation and am really liking it. I'm going to get airbrush makeup by a pro for my actual wedding, but will probably use the MUFE foundation for other situations where my pictures are being taken. It's quite long-wearing and natural-looking. If you have a Sephora around you, you could make an appointment with someone there to try it out. I've also used Clinique Superfit, which also photographs well, but IME, doesn't come in as many shades as either MAC or MUFE. I have oily skin, and have found that MAC Studio Fix, MUFE HD, and Clinique all wear well on my skin. Others tend to just slide off my face at the end of the day. I do mostly make-up for models on photo shoots and I haven't had a problem with the SPF in any of the MAC foundations. Definitely test it out though if you think you'll have any sort of problem. MUFE is great too. You can find it at Sephora.

I had my MOH with me, who is doing my makeup for the wedding, so I didn't get a chart, but they will make one up for you with no problems. Then you can just go home and practice a bit. Be prepared to spent a bit of money, but it is so worth it. And honestly, I picked up 2 eye shadows, liner, lip liner, gloss and foundation and it came to $110. Was way cheaper then I've spent at Lancome before. I love Studio Sculpt! It is sold out in so many MAC stores from us pros snatching it up. I'd still say Fix is better for hot weather, but Sculpt is a close 2nd.

If you're going to doing it yourself, here's what I'd recommend. They are all MAC products. Try the Studio Fix fluid for foundation. Looking at your pics, you'd probably be about an NC45, maybe NC50. It's very good for oily skin and/or hot weather (which Vegas in July DEFINITELY is). You can finish it with Prep + Prime in natural matte finish. As for the eyes try Stubborn Brown or Cork eyeliner on the top and bottom. Blend a little of the Bamboo eyeshadow on your lid and a little Sable into the crease. Finish your eyes off with the waterproof Prep + Prime mascara (it lengthen and thickens) so you won't have to bother with false lashes. Put a little Flirt blush on and throw a little Boy Bait creamy lip gloss and that's it!

Ok here is the template I made for mine. It was too big to upload here so I used yousendit. The guidelines are there because I am getting mine printed through a printer I use often and you need to leave .125 along the edge for cutting and then another .125 to make sure the text is within it. You will probably have to modify it if you a printing it yourself all on one page. Let me know if you have questions. ($150 for each girl to pay on her own? not too bad. $450 for me to pay by myself? No can do.) Everything I found in the under $100 never seemed fancy enough or they seemed cheaply mad. I'm over the moon I found these!

I've been going back and forth with what colors I wanted the girls to wear but I decided on orange when FI decided that he wanted to wear a light colored suit. (So I'm thinking light suit, white shirt, orange tie would be cute.) I went into Marshall's today looking for wedding shoes (no luck) but I did come out with awesome bridesmaid's dresses! They are actually coral which I was going to stay away from b/c it's too close to pink for me (I hate pink.) but these were too cute -- and a steal at 39.99! On top of all that, they had each of my girls sizes. (My 3 sisters are my BMs.) It's a little big on me, but I wanted to show m sisters what they look like. We are all in different states.
