Getting a copy of your Jamaica Marriage Certificate
Lexico replied to ~*petals*~'s topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
We were married at the Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort in June (5-12, 2009) and just received our marriage certificates about 2 weeks ago. Jascynthia, the wedding co-ordinator (whom I understand is no longer the wedding co-ordinator) told us 6-8 weeks, and it was pretty much double that and then some.....but we did receive it nonetheless (without having to call and follow up about where it was)..... Petals....did you get the little gift the resort advised would be sent when you received your marriage certificate?? We didn't. No big deal, I'm just happy the Certificate arrived! -
We have yet to receive ours. Thanks Petals. We were married June 10, 2009....so I can breathe easy that it will be on its way shortly (hopefully). Did it come with the little gift they said it would?

~*petals*~ LONG GP Jamaica Wedding Review *PIC HEAVY*

I love your review!! I too got married at the Grand Palladium in June and have to say the resort was gorgeous! You looked beautiful! -

I was married June 10, 2009 at the Grand Palladium Jamaica. You do not have to use True Colours Photography for your photos. Depending on what wedding package you choose, you may get 7-8 complimentary 5x7 photos. We flew our photographer down with us for the week and told the wedding co-ordinator we would not need their photographer, however they showed up on the day of the ceremony and snapped their photos even though we told them we would not be purchasing any photos from them, as we had our own photographer. They were a bit intrusive in that our own photographer couldn't even get up close to us to shoot (2 resort photographers present). Our guests were shouting to our photographer to "GET IN THERE" and "Tell them to get out of the way" thats how in the way of our photographer they were. They did take some nice photos though. You are allowed to bring your own photographer, you are just not allowed to hire a local Jamaican photographer from the surrounding areas. Obviously the Grand Palladium has an Agreement with True Colours and that would take away from any of the profits True Colours was to make, if you were to hire an local, outside photographer. I understand there is a new Wedding Co-ordinator now....I dealt with Jascynthia, so just double check with the new co-ordinator in case things have changed (as it appears this happens often). Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask! Cheers Ladies!

I just wanted to let you know that your review is fantastic! I too was a Mexico Bride re-routed to Jamaica - Grand Palladium Jamaica. We were married onsite and I nor my guests have one bad complaint about this resort or the staff working there. I wish you had posted your review before my wedding. It would have put me at ease. Your posts will help many future brides make their decision a lot easier. I have yet to post my review and photos of our wedding, but rest assured for all of you ladies and gents out there having second thoughts about the Grand Palladium Jamaica/Lady Hamilton...DON'T! This resort truly is fantastic. Thanks again for your posts/review! Cheers!

Hi Ladies! Your reviews are great. Trinkit, I'm glad to hear that's how you felt about the GP Jamaica! I've been to the GP in Mexico before and knew what we were getting into. I was out of my comfort zone for a bit, but I'm just going with the flow now. Danalauren....I will definitely let you know how things transpire! We leave on Friday... We do not have our ceremony location or reception dinner accommodations confirmed yet....OY! I'm over stressing now. From Petal's Review and Trinkit's I am confident that everything will be wonderful and work out just fine. The countdown is on! Cheers ladies (and gents)!

Hi Ladies, I have read a few of the reviews of your weddings just of late and feel a bit relieved. I'm a bit stressed! I'm a displaced Mexico Bride and am actually getting super excited to depart for our wedding (after such a huge let down being advised our flights were cancelled to Mexico). I leave in 2 weeks and have not heard from Jascynthia at all! I don't know if I should just go with the flow and trust that everything will work itself out once we arrive at the resort and meet with her, or panic and having everything firmed up prior. I'm going with the Tropical Pkg.....I'm confused about the menu options. and we don't have a location for the reception yet - can I just confirm the location of our ceremony with her too when we get there - since it seems like I'm not getting a reply. Snow Angel - thank you for your review. If you have any information to pass along that would be fantastic. All of this was arranged already for our Mexico departure, and now it's all up in the air again. Petals - CONGRATULATIONS!! I'm really looking forward to seeing your pictures and reading your review! I hope you are having a fantastic week! How was Jascynthia? Thank you ladies!! Cheers Lee

Congratulations!! Love the teaser pics already. Enjoy the rest of your vacation Mrs.! Can't wait for your review! Cheers -
Hi ladies, I am another Mexico Bride switching to the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton last minute. I have yet to look at all the menu options, and whatnot. I'm a bit stressed out with this last minute switch. I have not emailed with the WC yet either. we just got confirmation today from our TA of the switch. Oy!!! If anyone has any info they can share that would be great. What's the most important thing I should confirm with the WC first? Thank you

well....I didn't think it would actually come to this.....our flight cancellation has been extended into the end of June and our Mexico Wedding is no longer!! I am so upset...We have been planning this for over a year now, and for what? We are not getting married in Mexico now. We need to come up with a plan B NOW....and I don't have it within me to do so. I wish all of you ladies the best of luck - the Grand Palladium is amazing, and I hope your weddings are more than memorable! Cheers Lee
