Jewels, 2 weeks is a very long time but its not unusual for her. I finally heard back from her today after sending an email 5 days ago and my wedding is next week! I think they are under staffed and have an influx of wedding emails!

Okay...sorry to be a pain but I thought that Amy purchased a bag of orchids, so that's what I've been looking for. I have seen the stems of orchids at Walmart and Michael's but it just seems like it will be a better deal to find a bag of them. So for anyone who has done this did you purchase the stems or bags?? ~Mesita

I am the "other" girl. This is a very unfortunate situation and I hope that we both get what we were promised. My shoot was free as well but I was very clear with him as to when I needed the book and he said ok. I have everything in writing. It is not definite that I will get my book on tomorrow as I am still waiting to hear back from him. I leave next week so I hope he responds to my email soon!

I leave for Mexico on the 17th. So we will only be there one day before...it was going to be 2 days the first time but at this point I'm just like whatever. Yamina still hasnt sent me the final run down of everything that I have selected but I'm really tryng not to stress. I keep breaking out in hives and I don't know if it's stress or if I've developed an allergy to something. My guests have not rebooked. Some people are still afraid and for others the new date did not work. So my parents are going, supposedly his mom, my photog and his wife and maybe 2 of my friends. So I was totally bummed at first but I still plan to have a good time. Never expected to have a wedding with no wedding guests, bridesmaids, or a best man! Maybe we'll make friends at the resort and invite them! I still want to have a mini reception afterwards with music and dancing so I'm hoping it will still be fun. A little upset that when I look back on my pics no one will be in them : ( We are having a BBQ on the 4th of July when we get back to celebrate with everyone else.

Hey I had a few things like this happen to me along the way. I can definitely say that planning a destination wedding has opened my eyes and showed people's true colors. I know it hurts but all you can do is keep it moving. Maybe let her know how you feel so that you won't keep all these feelings inside. Your day will still be perfect no matter what!

I was way nervous too! In fact I had a martini to calm my nerves. lol

I'm having way less guests than you are and we still plan to do our first dance, and the bouquet and garter toss. We are also having an AHR and I will do it again! I'm not compromising my big day just because not a lot of people will be there!

Hey I forgot to tell you girls that I had my BD shoot about a week ago. It was soooo much fun and I can't wait until he gets the book! He is totally going to freak out. So if you are thinking about it I strongly reccommend you do them. I wanted to post the link to the gallery but I have a few nude shots so I don't want the whole world seeing my assets! ; ) ttyl

I did a few topless and nude shots! It was sooo much fun and the pics turned out great. With the completely nude one I had a big lolipop covering my private area and its so cute! I don't mind sharing if you promise to keep them to your eyes only!! PM me if u want to see the pics. Mesita

Yes my date is getting here very fast! It was actually supposed to be on May 14th, but we decided to postpone b/c of the darn swine flu. I have lost a lot of my guests and people still have not re-booked their trip! This has been an emotional roller coaster but we still plan to have fun no matter who it there! That website took me to the buns so thanks Savannah! Debra I had my final fitting on yesterday. I had already purchased my veil which i still plan to wear but I tried on a birdcage veil with this fabulous flower/feather piece and it was stunning! I can't wait to wear it!

Hi girls! I am so glad I found this thread! Monique's side ponytail looks great on her. I think I am going to do a side part and wear back in some sort of bun/chignon. I also like the side ponytail look so idk... I am also wearing a bird cage veil so not sure how the side ponytail will look. Any thoughts? For you weave pros out there my hair is not long enough to look full in a bun. So would I need to get a sew in to obtain a full bun or can I just get clip ins or one of those pony tails that have the elastic Help! Thanks! Mesita

I am having hair issues too! I am doing a TTD session but I have to do it the day before the wedding because my photog has to leave the morning after! I want to have the pictures where my hair is wet but I'm thinking that I won't be able to do that! It is so hard for me to get my hair straight when I wash it because it is so thick. I am loving the Alicia Keys pic that was posted. I am so nervous that the salon in Mexico won't know how to style my hair!

Just a warning that Yamina will take forever to respond to your emails. I am just doing the Silver package...I no longer have that many guest coming and figured that if the food is horrible we can go to another restaurant afterwards! There is a fee of $45 per person (I think) once you go over 20 people. That may increase for 2010 so be sure to ask Yamina. I have not used destinationweddings.com. I agree. I work in sales for a hotel and I do corporate and social events. I would be in so much trouble if I took that long to respond to emails! We do have to keep in mind that they don't practice the same service response time that we do here in the US. But it's still ridiculous! I did not get an answer from one of my emails and I forwarded it to her and was like did you get this? You take a while to respond. It still took her 2 days and she wrote back saying she was so sorry and blah blah blah.... A destination wedding was supposed to be easier! I find comfort in knowing that they are supposedly very attentive once you get there and take care of everything. So feel free to email the general manager. You should definitely get a response and if not that would be a very bad thing!
