I believe you should be able to bring your own speakers if you are doing a private reception. If we decided to do a private reception by the pool we are bring down our bose portable speakers but we will have a smaller group. I dont know how well they will for a larger group. But others from the forum have used it and said it was loud enough. -

Since I'm one of the first brides for 2010 (March 15) I would take the stuff down to the DR in extra suitcases and we could split that cost as well. For example, I want to do tangerine/fuschia paper lanterns inside the Gazebo and potentially hanging from the ceiling in the SSG. I also want to do rectangle tables and have white ceramic square vases with bunches of flowers in them. I think fuschia or coral orange silk table runners would be great over the simple white linens. Finally, I think silver chargers would be good and I'm not sure if Tiara can offer those. I'm also planning on using starfish as a decorative item. I tried to post some pics to give some idea of what I'm thinking but I am technically challenged when it comes to using this site. If you're interested in sharing some stuff, please email directly [email protected] and we can talk more. Thanks! Bridget Hey Bridget, i emailed you with what i'm planning as well and hopefully we will be able to share somethings. As Amy mentioned, would love to see some pics. We had looked at the organza chair sashes/runners on this site: 8x108 Organza Sash - Fuchsia50509(10pcs/pk) (those are just the fuscia ones, I would like a mix of orange and fuscia) Their prices seems pretty good, but if you have any other sites/suggestions that'd be great! I like your other ideas as well! I would definitely like to work together to share some decor! If you could email me some of your pics that'd be great! Thanks for re-posting the link, i couldnt find it! Quote: Originally Posted by nsimpson Hey DLR brides! Are any of you doing a rehearsal dinner and if so where? Currently we have the Love package and the photographer is included as well but i was going to see if i could trade them for something else like the musical trio since i'm flying down my photographers. -

Maybe once you've spoken to her, you can get her to write everything down that you've discussed so it doesn't change once we get there. The only plus is that i believe you only have to pay the $20 for guests 13-20 and not the first 12. I found this on the dreams tulum thread on hope it is the same case. -
Wow it looks great and such a great price!

I know i asked her about having a bonfire on the beach back in March and i believe she said no, but it cant hurt to re-ask as their policies could of changed and maybe do that and bring down some music. there might be a certain time music would have to be off by. If someone has a specific response that says, "no music at the SSG deck" please post so that I can address this w/ Tiara asap. Thanks!! Why does this all have to be so confusing, dont know if you saw this link but go to page 11 and it better spells out the reception options. -
Activities/ Excursions in La Romana
dolfinluck replied to nsimpson's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
I have been in contact with seavis, they are located right in bayahibe so its an easy walk to their boats, plus if you do a private tour they will pick you up right at dreams. Just email on what you are looking for, they are very quick to respond and are very flexible in what you want. I will mostly likely be doing a private tour at sunset to Saona Island by speed boat with dinner on beach. -

I'm pretty sure they are talking about doing a semi-private at the SSG and you cant have music or dancing but if your renting it out i am sure you can have both. -

Ok - if you're due on or near the wedding - yes that makes sense. Or if you JUST had the baby right before the wedding - like a month or so within the wedding date. But people who are only a few months prego can still fly... and can still go on vacation. Same with people with small infants. Most family friendly hotels will still accomodate infants. My SIL will be bringing her 5 month old. Its like some people will use any excuse, you know?? (Again, this statement doesn't apply to people with difficult pregnancies, or who literally JUST had a child, or are due on or around the wedding date. Obviously, they can't travel. Its just teh ones who use it as an excuse not to travel that get me.) I completely understand! FBIL's girlfriend (of less than a year) is due two months before the wedding and they are not coming because of it! I dont understand it, its your brother and your not coming! the girlfriend's mom could watch the baby.

I think you can then have a dance floor and get a dj or might be able to use the restaurant's sound system. Does anyone know if you do the semi-private reception at one of the restaurants do you have to start at a certain time? For some reason I thought I recalled reading somewhere the the dinner has to start at 6:30. -

I've had to stop going to the dog park, because even huskies that are supposedly so well behaved (according to their owners) just snap and attack him! This has happened on a few occassions with different huskies, so I'm really scared to leave him at a place with other dogs. I would hope my husky would be good with your dog, her favorite buddy at the dog park is a Jug (jack russel/pug). luckly she is very passive and if a dog scares her she will run to us -

So i'm thinking either bottles of Mamajuana or m+m's that are personalized or cookies in the shape of a wedding cake. -

It was really beautiful but casual. What is your wedding date? Mine is May 3. I was wondering if it is in the same week? I was reading the information from the resort last night and it is saying only up to 20 guests can eat at any of the restaurants except the World cafe, where it can be more. I have 30 people coming, but don't want to have it at the world cafe. I was thinking of doing the dinner beside the pool but I can't find a price on this. I hope I am not the only confused bride. Also thinking I might bring an Ipod dock for the first dance... by the pool and then go to the disco for the dance part of the reception. What are you doing for the reception? I read about getting a DJ and a dance floor. Good luck with your planning. Keep posting!! May 15 is our date and should be getting there May 12 so maybe will cross paths! The price for reception by the pool is the cost of the silver or gold package for dinner ( i think around $32 per head plus taxes for silver). We are also thinking of this as well, will not be sure until we get there and see the locations and decided if its worth the extra money to be at the pool. We are thinking of the ipod dock as well, but it says that no music can be played in the restaurants if you do not rent it out. So hopefully if we go with one of the restaurants there are ppl walking around playing music. Most of my plans are ideas as not sure on final head count.
