I emailed her again and she did finally email me back saying she was delayed due to all the storms they are having and the power being out..she said she will try to have mine out to me by next week so hopefully yours will be done in the same time frame! Let me know! Jen

I emailed her last week for an update and still haven't heard back so I will be emailing her again this morning! I'll let you know what she says! Jen

So many nice ones to choose from it was hard!

There is sooo much to choose from with so many restaurants! The food was always hot, cooked well and had tons of flavor. My fav restaurants were the italian, indian and Jamaican! The sports bar had these wicked sandwiches and the chicken nuggets tasted like the ones from McDonalds!! Hope that helps!

Like I would like to have a private recp at either place but no word back...ugh. Any tricks of the trade to get them to respond? Hey, you can for sure have a private reception at the GP, the trick is the keep emailing and maybe suggest your are deciding between them and another venue and then seeing they want the business it may trigger them to respond!! Hope that helps!

Yes the Gazebo is up on the cliff..called look out point and it was 100% private and the view was amazing!
  13. I'm glad that they were nice and helpful for your wedding, maybe they were just having an off day with me and hopefully everyone else will get the same level of service that you did!

  15. One complaint is that we asked for a Civil ceremony and we had some God references in the readings but we let it go. Make sure you tell Jascynthia which one you want and make sure she lets the judge/Minister know. Did you specifically tell them that you didn't want any mention of God? Or do you think we'd just need to really hammer it in when we have the civil ceremony that we really don't want any mention of that at our wedding. We said Civil and ya i said it was really important to not mention God in any of it and i guess the message didn't get across, apparently my guests told me she was holding a sign halfway through that said Civil so the minister could see it but maybe he just ignored her? Just be VERY clear to her and hopefully it will be fine. He only said it maybe 3 times to it wasn't the end of the world. The music was played through our ipod and was very good sound and they use a microphone so all the guests could here no problem. We did not get the DJ, we had 2 MC’s and our IPOD and they gave us a wireless mic and speaker, very easy to use and sound was great. The dance floor was in the hub to the left of us were we danced till 10pm and then went to party with the reggae band upstairs which were AMAZING! How did it work to have the IPOD for the ceremony - did someone just hit play and just went from there? The DJ was there and he controlled it and for the lag time he played music and had music while we were doing the signing as well. All in all the day was great, yes our wedding was delayed 45min, Did you have enough filler music for your delayed ceremony or did you not have music during the delay? As above the DJ was there and took care of it and that is included in your package for him to be there its no extra. Just make sure when Jascynthia sets your meeting that its actually with her, b/c the first time I met I got her assistant who was useless and I had a total melt down and met with Jascynthia the next day. She managed to get most things right but she isn’t the nicest of people. We think they really need to hire someone with a little more passion for weddings! Also, and I guess this is for everyone - is the resort very crowded? Are the buffets super crowded and hard to get to the food and the pools very full? When we were there it was at 52% capcity so we never had to wait in line for a la carte, buffets and had chairs for everyone by the beach and pool. It was great! If u need anything else just let me know! Jen
  16. Girls you have nothing to worry about with this resort. I was there for 2 weeks and loved every minute of it. Yes pool tiles were missing and yes I did cut my foot, BUT it did not ruin my week or my wedding! We got married at 3pm and it was HOT, so if you have a big dress like I did I suggest getting married a little later. We got married at the Gazebo and it was beautiful, the view and the set up. There are also shaded areas up there for your guests to cool off. The judge was amazing and so funny and kept the whole mood light. One complaint is that we asked for a Civil ceremony and we had some God references in the readings but we let it go. Make sure you tell Jascynthia which one you want and make sure she lets the judge/Minister know. The music was played through our ipod and was very good sound and they use a microphone so all the guests could here no problem. We did Champagne toast after and then a group shot and then family pics on site. We used Stacey Clarke and she was amazing!! I wouldn’t suggest using the hotel photographer as I saw him with a couple other weddings and he didn’t seem that great to me. Just add Stacey as a guest and pretend she is a friend from home and you’ll have no issues, then just tell the WC you don’t need the hotel photographer! We did the rest of our photos on the beach and in the lobby on the grand staircase all great locations. We then had our reception in the Blue Lagoon and it was set up so nice. We had a U shaped head table because I had 18 ppl in our wedding party and the other 6 tables were rectangle which I was unhappy about seeing I was told they would be round. BUT they were draped with white linens and the flowers used at the Gazebo were brought over for the head table and parents table and then we used the 9 bridesmaids bouquets for the rest and it all looked really nice. I made place cards and brought them down and gave the WC a seating chart and they managed to get it right! The cake table had flowers as well and the cake was gorgeous and actually delicious and was Vanilla. We did not get the DJ, we had 2 MC’s and our IPOD and they gave us a wireless mic and speaker, very easy to use and sound was great. The dance floor was in the hub to the left of us were we danced till 10pm and then went to party with the reggae band upstairs which were AMAZING! All in all the day was great, yes our wedding was delayed 45min, yes God was referenced and yes my tables were square but it didn’t matter. Anyways here is a link to our friends photos he took, I don’t have my professional ones in yet but this will give you a good idea of what it will look like! Picasa Web Albums - Paul - James and Jen... If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask! oh and the food was amazing!!! Jen 

Thank you so much for all of your posts over the past few months! You have helped me stay calm through all of this planning. I only have a month to go before I get married at the GP and after reading this review I feel like everything will go smoothly! You looked awesome and you both look very happy! Thanks again!!

Petals, For the menu choices, how does it work? Does she need the items for each guests or do you create the menu and your guests order the night of the wedding?? Thanks!!!
  20. Congrats on the newly married! Sounds like everything went smoothly!! Can't wait to see your amazing pics!!

I love it-- he's got the soca music going and everything... . lol Sent it around to some friends! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jC_uS3-QW4k OMG that is so great!! I will have to send it out to all my guests!
  22. Petals-Thanks for the info, I can't wait to see pics of your wedding, it looks like we are having around the same number of people! I asked if there was a schedule for the bands and Jacynthia said they don't have one, do you know if that has changed? We are struggling with what to do music and entertainment wise after the dinner. Thanks!!
  23. Hi Petals!! I'm so excited for you!! Less then 1 month to go!! Just a quick question for you regarding your seating plan. Do you know how many tables you are having and how many at each table? It's hard to tell how many ppl will fit in the blue lagoon from the pics. I have about 56 booked so far! Thanks!!!
  24. The way i got around this issue is letting them know my photographer is a friend as well and is a guest at the wedding. The WC said as long as it is not a local photographer that you can bring your own. Hope that helps!
  25. Hey! I am using her for my wedding on July 8, 2009 and she has been so great with all of my questions. She gets back to you the same day and her prices and work are way better then the hotel. Hope that helps! Jen
