CONGRATS & Welcome!!! This is a great place to get info. We are getting married January 17, 2009 at RIU MB. It was a little scary booking a wedding at a resort that was not even opened yet but then I found this forum and have been hooked ever since. In the wedding forums- you can click on the 'jamaica' thread. There is a lot of good info on there- including a RIU MB thread that has some links to recent pics. Have fun!

Does anyone know of a good (reliable!) TA in the North Dallas area? I'm in desperate need for one that knows what they are doing and works fast. Thanks!!!

GREAT question! I'm by no means an expert but from what I've experienced so far, I would only use a TA that specializes in DW's. There is a lot more to a DW than just picking the resort. (which is mainly all a TA will do) DW TA's will be familiar with all the wedding staff at your resort. They know how the process works and can recommend things you would have never thought of. They should also create a wedding website for you so your guests can easily book their trip as well. It's just nice to have someone that knows what's going on. It's essentially having a wedding planner for free- or a lot less! Hope this helps- I'd love to hear what other brides think. (and if they have a great DW TA) Congrats!!!

WOW- you ladies have your stuff together! I'm sooo glad this thread was created! We are getting married January 17, 2009 at Riu MB. I'm a little freaked out.. We just picked the location, resort and wedding time/place. I'm waiting on my TA to send me STD's but other than the TA's website with our info, I wasn't planning on sending invitations. I know some of the older family members (who aren't attending!) would want one though.. Urgh! I'm in the process of looking for a good "beach" dress. Anyone know of a good place to look? What are you doing about favors for your guests? So many questions...so many details!

Does anyone know of a good place to find wedding dresses for the beach? What's the attire when having a beach wedding?

Hello!! We are getting married on January 17, 2009 at the RIU Montego Bay that is supposed to open (hopefully!) soon. Does anyone have any info on this property or has anyone been married at a RIU before? Also- any additional info on beach destination beach weddings would be greatly appreciated. I sort of feel like I'm flying blind! ;-) Thanks for any info- Becky
