I just ordered my hot pink shoes ($70) on heels.com. They are Chinese Laundry, color is "Berry" I hope they fit...I'm between an 8 and 9 depending on brand...but had to order an 8 since it's all they had and I was IN LOVE with them. I read through the reviews and the size evaluations were so mixed...some said they were true to size, some said they run small and some said they run big...I'm hoping for the latter! Heels.com offers free returns so I can send them back if they don't fit but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I bought fakes for my BMs from a fellow BDW bride on here but really wanted real flowers for myself. But things just keep adding up...my WC quoted me $250 for the bouquet I want (white flowers with just a few orchids) and FI almost dropped dead. So I ended up buying a real touch bouquet off ebay for $110. It was still expensive, but at least I don't have to leave it in Mexico (I couldn't stand the thought of leaving my flowers there to die!) At least this way, I can sell it when I get back maybe and get some money back for it. My flowers came in yesterday and they look real enough to me. I'm super excited, because now I know exactly what my flowers will look like and don't have to worry about being surprised/disappointed if I got them in Mexico.

Hi Girls... We're trying to find FI's shirt and are having trouble because he's a little picky... We want a white, or white with tonal stripes, french cuff long sleeve shirt, but without a pocket! Having the hardest time finding this... We found one but it was white and was $75...it was a little expensive and wasn't quite perfect...I'd prefer the white on white stripe to dress it up a little... Any help you can offer is much appreciated! I know there are some fabulous girls on here who know how to search.... TIA Rachel

Thanks Jena...graduation is soooo close!!! I think it's great that you're getting married close to home. I just came up with my back-up plan just in case everything falls through for Mexico, and I almost want to just do it. Mexico would obviously be more fun, but not as much of a headache. And, NO my BM hadn't gotten her dress. LIke I said, I think she planned on not going from the beginning and just needed a valid excuse. The swine flu just fit her plan perfectly I guess. She also used the excuse of not having money, which is understandable if it was true. She has lived at home since graduating college and has been saving money. She almsot bought a condo a few months ago and shared with me that she had 20% saved for a down-payment. The condo fell through and now she is signing a lease for an apartment in a few weeks. She said she can't afford Mexico because she needs to come up with 1st, last & security for her apartment! I think she forgot that she told me she had all that money saved...whatever, what it really comes down to is what she wants to do, and obviously it's not important for her to be there...makes me question her friendship a little but I won't go there....

Jena, I'm sooo sorry you had to cancel. But I completely understand with everything going on and with your FMIL's condition. It's making me so sad to hear about all of you out there who are cancelling. And it's making me nervous! I really don't know what to do. My mom called me the other day to ask if I was cancelling, and I said no. I'm not sure what she wanted to hear. She is usually pretty calm and "whatever" about these kinds of things so I was surprised she was asking at all. I'm not sure if she was just checking to see if I was freaking out, or if she was hoping I was cancelling. My bridesmaid just backed out citing the swine flu as her reasoning, but I think it was just an easy excuse. She hadn't booked yet and kept dropping hints making it seem like she wasn't going to be able to come anyway. I wish she had told me earlier, but whatever, that's a story for another day... So far we have 14 people booked. Our parents, our 2 siblings (each with their significant others), Scott's BM and one friend from high school (each with their significant others), and my cousin with her daughter who is supposed to be my flower girl. I haven't gotten a call from anyone else complaining or wondering what we are doing at this point, but who knows if it's coming....the only person I might be worried about is my flower girl. She will be 3 in July and everything I hear about the SF affecting kids makes me nervous for her. There's only 4 other people (my MOH and a friend and each of their significant others) that told us they were coming that haven't booked yet, but we also haven't received all our RSVP's back yet (even though I said April 1st!) so who knows. Especially now, I'm nervous that those people that were considering coming definitely won't now because of this whole thing. My MOH was about to book right before all this but decided to wait because she's hoping prices will drop. I'm not at all worried about her not going; I know she will be there for me no matter what happens, she just hasn't physically booked yet. Everyone else is up in the air. As for planning, I haven't really done anything since this all started. I have a list of a million things I still need to do, but I don't want to do them if I'm going to end up cancelling (or not having guests). In the last few weeks (before the SW even surfaced in the news) I was having second thoughts about the wedding and the choices we had made in resort and location and whatever else (none of this having anything to do with the SF). I guess I was just getting nervous that I made the wrong choice. I of course talked myself out of it and know that my wedding will be absolutely wonderful at ASP, but now I'm more prepared I guess if I am forced to cancel. I think everything happens for a reason, and if I can't get married in Mexico then that wasn't where I was meant to be married! At this point, I am NOT cancelling. My date isn't until mid-July and I'm really hoping everything will have blown over by then. I will decide for sure as it gets closer. The thought of coming up with a "Plan B" did cross my mind, but I just don't have time to do it right now. I'm finishing up grad school (3 weeks! yay!) and working 2 full time jobs. I don't even have enough time to sleep let alone plan ANYTHING right now. And it's just too much work to plan this all over again. But my heart goes out to everyone who has had to cancel It seems like such a waste (of both time and money and emotions) to cancel after all that planning, and it's so depressing! Jena, I hope you still get your dream wedding...is the hotel you are looking at close to home?

OMG! Again, I hate hate hate them...I'm so sorry that happened to you. I know you will find a dress that you love elsewhere! You've got plenty of time! If anyone is interested in an update, my DB dress (size 2) is still sitting in my closet. I need to make an appointment for alterations soon, as I'm coming up on 2 months. I guess I'm just not super-excited to wear it. I do love it, but I was hoping something else would come along (in my pricerange) that I love more, but that just hasn't happened. I'm also having an issue because the BM dresses I want are from DB, and I'm debating whether or not to give them any more money!

I have had a few of our guests call and ask if we are canceling, which as of now, we are not. Hopefully by July all of this will have blown over... I have also had a few people who were just about to book hold off now, which makes me more and more upset. One of my bridesmaids says she's not going now, but I'm hoping it all works out. I can't even imagine what it must be like for those of you getting married in the next few weeks. I'm so glad that this forum is here so we all have some support. My heart goes out to all of you! I hope everyone can still have their dream wedding somehow...

I HATE HATE HATE David's Bridal. I am so fed up with all the calls from vendors. I don't know how to explain to them that I don't need any local services, since I am a DW bride. zorlack76...I also had an issue with sizing...their customer service SUCKS! As soon as i had paid for the dress they could care less what happened to me. I refuse to get my dress fitted there and now have to find someone else to do it.

So FI just heard that he is NOT going to Afghanistan...it was all a mistake...the computer system had him listed as being stop-lossed until 2031, which was WRONG. He is out of the service, does not ever have to do anything again and now we can focus on the wedding and not on freaking out! Thanks for all your messages girls...I don't know what I would do without this place

Hey Jena- We told our WC we were planning to hire an outside photographer and she said it was fine as long as we got the daypass...but we ended up getting a room for her in the end so I guess it didn't matter...I will look and see if I have the Email from Yazmin saying it's ok....

Hey girls, I am turning to you for help because I am amazed at what some of you can find! I am in love with the dress that Debra Messing wore in The Wedding Date in the dance scene...it looks like a silk/chiffon, kind of a pale green color, and has spaghetti straps that criss cross in the back...I have searched the net trying to figure out where it's from but have had no luck. Maybe someone has seen something similar? I love the way it flows when she's dancing...I really want something like this for our welcome dinner... Thanks in advance for the help ladies...

I too am very fair skinned...I'm usually in SPF 50+ all summer...I have tanned in the past, and I would definitely recommend using a lotion, even in the early stages. Although it can cause you to burn if you're not careful, it helps to protect your skin too. There are a ton of different brands out there...I would ask someone at the salon you go to to recommend one for you. I would stay away from anything that has bronzers (they turn me a fake orange color) or "tingle" in it (it will turn your skin red for hours and can be painful!) Definitely work your way up the minute ladder slowly (I usually start at 3 min. for the first few times and then increase by only a minute each time.) I would also recommend using a moisturizing lotion after tanning! The lotions can be expensive in the salons...you can also check online places such as Ebay for better deals... Good luck! I am going to start tanning in a few weeks too...it sucks because I know it's so bad for you, but if I go to Mexico as white as I am I will never make it through the week. I can just picture myself in the hospital on my wedding day with 3rd degree burns!
