We just booked our wedding for July 16, 2009 at the Aventura Spa Palace, Riviera Maya, Mexico... We have been engaged since February of 2007, so I'm so happy to finally have some planning done! I was all over the palce trying to decide where to go...it was between Cape Cod, MA for a semi-destination, Outer Banks, NC, Islamorada, FL, and Mexico! We got engaged in Cancun so Mexico just seemed right. Not too much planning as of yet... -booked resort -working on STDs -purchased dress -created wedding website -found this site!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone...this site is amazing! I only wish I had found it sooner...I am starting to have second thoughts about our wedding location (Aventura Spa Palace, Mexico) after reading about and seeing beautiful pictures of so many other beautiful places! I can't seem to find much info on here about the ASP...I keep telling myself it doesn't mean anything... Oh well, there's no turning back now...

Hey, I don't know if you have done your invites yet, but I would say "cocktails, dinner,and dancing following ceremony" You want to include both cocktails and dinner so your guests know what to expect foodwise, but adding the extra word helps with the flow...unless there's no dancing, then you have a problem.... also, I like sun, sea & memories....no problems there! good luck!

My family was the same way! We actually comprimised a bit in order to please people...we are getting married in the summer when it is easier for people to get time off from work, but we are taking our chances with hurricane season. It was hard for us because we really wanted to get married in Mexico, and we really wanted our close friends and family there. Deciding which was more important was hell...in the end, we decided that the wedding was about us, and we should do what makes us happy. Anyone who cares about us enough will make the effort to be there. We only booked our trip last weekend, so no one else has booked their trips yet, but everyone has enough time to plan and save...(our friends have been saving since we got engaged, because we knew then that we wanted to do a DW)...we are planning to see about 15-20 people join us Do what makes you happy and enjoy!!!

Hello everyone, My name is Rachel and my fiance and I just booked our wedding for this summer at the Aventura Spa Palace in Mexico! We are so excited to have finally booked...we have been reading reviews for months...our wedding date is July 16, 2009. If anyone has any advice/tips or stories helpful to us, I'd appreciate it...
