  1. I would have them match just so you can tell they are in the wedding party...it's also nice to get a group pic of everyone in your party and have everyone compliment each other.... BUT, if you don't want them to match, then they don't have to...it's your day...do what YOU want! Sorry...I'm kind of contradicting...probably didn't help much...
  2. I think having the flip flops nearby is a great idea...especially if you had your heart set on going barefoot...and you definitely don't want a bloody wedding! As for dancing...I'm going to run into the same problem...I really wanted to be barefoot, but also know that it's awkward to dance barefoot...I've danced barefoot at weddings before (cuz my feet hurt from the shoes) and for some reason I danced like I was still wearing heels and my friends made fun of me...I couldn't help it! So I don't really know what to advise here...
  3. Maybe it's just the background, but I love the Mexico one too...I think the curls look great! Then again, I also like the one of you in your dress...I know it wasn't put up perfectly, but I like the updo with the dress style...very sophisticated!
  4. Looks like you had a great time! I'm jealous of you and Hef...I had to work on Halloween and all weekend, so no fun for me
  5. Wow! This sounds so fun...I would love to join you all if my schedule allows...Right now I am working 2 jobs full time (80+ hours a week) and finishing up my classes for my Masters degree....it's been crazy trying to plan a wedding in the midst of it all...maybe in the new year it will have calmed down a bit...keep me posted as to when and where and I'll try my best to be there...it would be great to meet some of you guys after all the help I've been getting on this forum!
  6. Getting married July 16, 2009 at the Aventura Spa Palace, Riviera Maya, Mexico! Still in the early stages of planning...as soon as the semester is done (I'm in grad school) I will kick it into high gear...things are a little crazy right now... How much do you have done?
  7. Jenn-they look great! I was going to go the DIY route because of my low low budget...how much did these cost you?
  8. This is definitely common...and one of the downfalls to big resorts! I don't think it will be a big deal...I think the ceremony is only like 15 minutes or so, and weddings are scheduled on the hour...so even if there was another wedding before or after yours, it will be far enough away that it won't affect you...now you might see the other bride and party around the resort, but that's just something you have to deal with I chose to get married on a Thursday, hoping that other brides would go for a weekend...I keep checking to see if anyone else has booked our day and so far we are good...but I feel like July is still far enough away... Try not to worry about it...it will still be YOUR day and you will have a blast!
  9. I am kind of having this same issue...my parents said they will absolutely be there...but I have overheard them say they don't know how they will be able to afford it. I know they will be there no matter what, but I don't want them to go into debt to do it! (Although, they are already wayy into debt) I was thinking of paying for them, but then felt guilty that we should pay for FIs parents too... Even before we decided on the DW, we told our parents we were footing the wedding bill, so they wouldn't have to worry about it...but my mom has always insisted on covering 3 things: the dress, the pics, and the music. Even those will send her into debt... I am loving planning this, but I can't help but feel guilty whenever my mom is around the planning process...I know it is going to be hard for them...but for me, there's no turning back...I will just have to figure out if we are going to pay or not...ughhh
  10. I'm so sorry this happened to you...I would wait and see what you get from your guests...maybe they happened to get a good shot of the two of you... Honestly, I like candids better than posed shots...post a few and we will let you know what we think...maybe you're being too critical and you really have a great one!
  11. Samantha...you could put the name of the place you are going...e.g. Cancun...that way your guests have a way to remember the trip without it having your names on it...

  14. oops...guess I didn't read far enough...I'm glad you went back...I think it looks great! It will just take some getting used to
  15. I don't think it's bad at all...it's a great cut! And not at all mullet-like... However, I will say that it looks nothing like the pic of Nicole...if that's what you really want I think you should go back (get your money back), then go somewhere else and have them fix it...you have extra length (at least in the back) for them to play around with... Good luck and let us know how it turns out!
  16. I was thinking of doing something similar...but with a slightly lighter blue...I love blue and pink It looks great!

    hello

Congrats and welcome to the forum! You will find tons of info here....best of luck!
  18. I would do Sunday as the welcome dinner and Monday as the rehearsal...I always like having more excuses to celebrate! Also, I would spend the night before apart...for me, I sleep better without my FI (he tosses and turns a lot) and I want to get a good night's sleep before the big day! If your resort offers this options, I would take it...I don't think mine does...I'm hoping my FI will stay with a friend the night before...he doesn't know this yet
  19. This is something that makes me so mad! When I flew to Paris last year, I had to switch planes in Iceland...so that's where I cleared customs...not really a big deal, except I realized later that now I don't have the "Paris" stamp in my passport...kinda silly, but I really wanted it...now it looks like I've been to Iceland, but no where else...
