  1. Ashley - oh no! I'm so sorry about your house and your dog...that is horrible...I hope you get your pup back
  2. ours is a big family affair...I'm excited...I can't imagine it without everyone there with us. I know someone who did it the two of them only though, and she said it was so romantic...so do what makes you happy!
  3. eek this is scary - it had my address, phone #, and family info
  4. I just wanted to tell you all about my welcome dinner spot, BananaCantina because I am in love with this place! I hadn't seen it before a site visit last week and I'm so happy I chose the location. It is right in the Romantic Zone near La Palapa restaurant - about a block up from the beach. Jae, the manager, graciously showed us the restaurant even though they were closed for the summer. It is a gorgeous quaint little Contemporary Mexican place - and it is super affordable (one of the most affordable restaurants for a welcome dinner of all the ones I contacted and even nicer than a lot of them). What I loved about it the most is that we are able to have a private dinner - since the restaurant holds about 55 people. Anyway - here is the website: Banana Cantina - A Puerto Vallarta Restaurant - and I will be sure to post a full review when I return from our wedding, but I would highly recommend this place. The pictures on the website are exactly how it looks in person and the owner and manager are so nice. They are American also- so definitely easy to talk to/email.
  5. clutches, jewelry, sarongs, wet bikini bags, leather passport covers, spawraps, toiletry bags? Good luck!
  6. Erika I'm so sorry about your accident - even more sad I was out of town and couldn't contribute. Feel better!!! We are thinking of you
  7. yeah I wouldn't put in in there. I think the only place it is okay to put it is in your shower invitation when someone else is throwing it for you and they put it in there
  8. girls - I'm back from Dreams...you should all be happy not to be getting married in mid-September - we were sweating balls it was so hot and humid!! Overall, good quick trip since we were just in port for 1 day from the cruise. So glad I got to see the resort, even though it was pretty dead as it was so hot and off season. I was able to meet Rebecca as she showed us the hotel rooms. She is really sweet - you girls are in good hands! By the way, deluxe rooms are fine. I was worried from tripadvisor reviews but they were clean and nice...nothing special and of course the jr suites were a lot nicer, but nothing to worry about at all! Also, I think we'll be having welcome happy hours at Dreams on a few nights and I'm not sure if we should just pick one bar to meet everyone at or rotate bars. I know Lauren said the lobby bar or sports bar were the best. Would you be able to take a pic or describe the bars? Thanks so much! Got a pic - I'll upload this week. The terrace is nice and private - definitely don't do more than 70 people on there though, would be too cramped - otherwise it is great. Got a pic of the lobby bar also not the sports bar though since it was closed. Lobby bar is more elegant, the sports bar looks like a lot of fun though (more low key - your typical sports bar) - just depends on what your crowd wants. Rebeca says the sports bar is open a lot later though and they have dancing. I don't trust their website and Rebeca has mentioned out of dates items regarding the wedding info. Thanks a million and have fun! Jaclyn got this for you Jac - I'll scan tomorrow and email to you Quote: Originally Posted by smith3576 Jess - if you have the chance, I'm curious about using the Gazebo for the cocktail hour and Las Palmas for the reception. That's our plan right now, but would you mind just looking at them both in relation to one another, etc. and see if you think that's a bad idea for some reason? Also, is the price list you posted the current one for 2009? Are the linens on there if you want something extra? I thought basic white linens were included? I am soo confused by all the different price lists, etc. for things for Dreams, not to mention all the different quotes and stipulations people seem to get for the same things. I wish they had just one list of everything. Every time I think I understand something, it seems like I read someone else was told something different and it makes planning really difficult! Also, has anyone used the projector or have info on that? We were thinking of it, but it sounds kind of expensive. Jillian - did she say there was no set-up fee because you have the Ultimate package? She made it sound free to me regardless, but then someone else on here (I think) said there was a set up fee for some things. Autumn - What is the starfish idea? Thanks Thanks Thanks! Jamie Jamie, the gazebo is right next to the terrace so I think that is perfect I think. I'll get the pics up soon ladies - any questions feel free to ask
  9. I heard about this but haven't seen it until now...so sad
  10. yup sounds normal - mine was the same
  11. yeah for sure - I know my airbrush tans usually last for about 7-10 days
  12. Are you not from the South (I see that you live there now)? I'm not and I don't see the point of them -I'm pretty sure that is the only place they do them...but I know if you are from the South they are pretty important so it is really your call
  13. yup love it as well - especially the airbrush kind. Talk to your photographer if you are planning on doing it for your wedding - mine said no no no as it looks orangy in photos even if it doesn't in real life

But, that might be the best option. Now I wish that we would have explored some off-site options for the wedding, but I hadn't even heard of that until I joined this Forum. This has been a big help. Kim - check out Dazzling Details blog - The Dazzling Details they have a lot of beach reception pics at Dreams. I'm having mine on the beach in the sand. They said that with more than 70 people anywhere else is way to crammed.
  15. haha weird - honestly there are times I would have loved to have this when I had to pop a squat for one reason or another
