I am so glad I started this thread, you guys have so many great ides. I love the slumber party idea, I also like the Vagas idea, but can't afford it. I too do not want them spending any more money outside of going to Jamaica for the wedding. I think I can use a combination of the ideas here. Thanks ladies.

Hello, other destination brides, I hope I am not breaking any rules here but I herd of this expo going on and would love for any Jamaican brides to join me. There will be lots of destination vendors (hotels, florist, photos, decorators, etc). It will be on March 29th at the Holiday inn, in Westburry, Queens boarder. It starts at 12pm-4pm. No it is not crazy at all. I am having two as well, one a matron and the other the maid of. I say do what you want, this wedding thing has too many rules for me, yes some traditions are a must but hey why only one maid of, go ahead girl its your party, your day, do what you want. I am. lol

Hi, Ladies I have been so consumed with school, its been hard to focus on the wedding. All done for this semester now, yepiiiii. It worked out fine with ana the person making my invites, she sent me an e-mail which showed that she had been trying to contact, but some how i was not getting her e-mails, all is well now. Honeyhun, I do plan being in the gym but only to build muscle not really losing weight. I want to keep my shape for my dress, just tone a bit. So far, I have about 50 people booked.

Msasfraz- your pics are amazing. When u first returned I only saw the Dunns River pics, now I see them all and it is even more mouth dropping. I am using Frank as well, I am glad that he is a great person to work with. I am using the same wedding colors as well, just with a hint of cinnimon. I need some help as well, I decided to use [email protected] for my invites. she has made a bunch of invites here on the sight. I made my deposit and have not herd from her since. I sent her 2 e-mails. I am almost panicing. I will try to find a number to call, but what else can I do? I have not even given her all the info for the invitation nor, has she asked for it. It has been about 3 weeks. I am nervous.

But do not fret, my coordinator that is here Lisa Jones knows Esther well, as well as Sunset, and she too can get anything done there. I have been using them both. When Lisa says not to worry, I have an answer in minutes. She is professional and only deals with professional people. if anyone can help you, it would be her. I love that we are so focuss. All these plans keep us motivated, and excited. Ladies, do you think with a destination wedding,sending our STD, having our coordinators send flyers to potential wedding participants of reminders to pay for the hotel and the cost by a certain date (well, that is what my coordinator here in NY did), that an invitation is necessary? I want to do one, but....

Hi, lol, you must be so excited that you have posted your wedding date as if it already happened, you have 8/5/08. I am so excited too, I have been telling people that it is in June 2009. lol. Gald to meet you. I am working on a decorator now and a photographer. I think i found a decorator, she lives there and as far as photos i am so confused been meeting and researching too many people. I have passed that task off to my FI. Still hunting down a dress. I have been contemplating to get it made. I will be reaching outto a few dress shops today to see what a price quote for what I want would look like. Well, lets keep our spirits up. i will pass on any info you need. Hi, MrsMCK2b I am getting married Aug 1, 2009. I am looking for a private photographer, because my coordinator went to that hotel for one of her clients and the person there was not prepared at all, nor was the video person. She said it might be best to find someone to go with us, and then she will see what she can do about the vendor fee being that they do not have a good person. Also there are plenty of phtographers there as well, who are great so that i can avoid the travel fee as well. Now I have too many to choose from, ahhhhh. make sure to see samples of all their work first. I still can't speak to the decorator there yet. Good luck.

I am from Jamaica and I am having my wedding there. I love Ocho Rios for its' tourist sites. It is about 2hours from the airport but, well worth the trip. Montegobay is filled with mosquitos and the night life is a little dangerous for me, but hey it all depends on what you are looking to feel, see, and how you want to spend your time. Nigril is far as well from the airport. It is far into the country so that is why your time would be more relaxed. That is a place for a honey moon. All the fun spots either in Montegobay or Ochie is way to far if you want to do more than one thing in a day. Time is most important for me especially with friends and family comming down. They need to be able to get to the fun fast not spend all day trying to get to it and not have to be under time contraints.

This place looks amazing. It must be pricey to get married here.

My FI and I are having the same issue now. We think we will have the photographer put some of our pics in documentary style as if it was a video. To be honest, who really wants to see dancing for 45 mins.
