  1. Has anyone heard from Claudia (WC) at all recently? I've sent her an email last Wednesday attempting to finalize the details of our private reception and welcome dinner, but have not heard a peep from her since.

I know that the pricing is $400 for 10 people so if we have 25 people, do we pay $800+$200 (for the additional 5) or do we have to pay for 30 people, $1200? Answer: The price is $1200 for the 3 tables. Thanks for posting Camie! My issue with this is if you have 21 guests vs 29 guests, you end up paying the same price which just doesn't seem fair. Oh well ...
  3. Ladies, Moon Palace quotes private reception costs as $400 for 10 people. I find it confusing that they quote the reception based on 10 people versus a $40 per person price. Therefore, if you have 25 guests, would the total cost be $1000 ($40x25ppl) or do they round the number up to $1200 ($40x30ppl)? Hope this makes sense.
  4. Laura (Hale), Quick question - did you include Tammara and Grant in your guest count for your reception? Would you have to purchase a meal and reserve a place setting for them? Thanks, Myen
  5. Ladies - For those of you who are having private outdoor receptions, what do you guys plan on doing after 10:00pm? I was originally set on having an indoor reception because I didn't want to cut the party short, but I've recently been informed by my WC that if I book the Carey ballroom (as was our original plan) we have to shut it down at 11:00. So now I'm thinking of switching gears altogether and hosting an outdoor reception, but I'm at a loss on what to do after 10:00.

I would love for them to know that we have referred their services. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy Laura & Joe Thanks for the info Laura and I will certainly mention your names to Tammara and Grant

The OOT bags that I had put together were too feminine and will just be for the ladies.

The policy states: Outside vendor services (photography, florists, décor companies, audio visual companies, entertainers, etc.) are not permitted on premises. Palace Resorts will provide our couples with a variety of in-house services to choose from. Can you give me some tips on how to get around this? Do I need to pretend he's my long lost uncle or something? LOL To get around their outside vendor policy, you have to book a room for your photog. In our case, we hired Tamm's Photography and our package includes full day coverage and a trash the dress session the next day. The resort requires a min 1 night stay, however because we were having 2 day coverage, our photographer required us to book 2 nights. Marlyn from the Miami office confirmed that all was kosher and that it did not conflict with their vendor policy as the photog would be considered as a guest

Are they different colors? How do they stop people from just coming and going from the resort? Is there just like one little door to get in and out of the resort so you can't just walk in like most resorts? Sorry for all the questions...I am just trying to get an idea of what its like so I can be prepared when we arrive. Thank you! Hi Jennifer, I've stayed at a number of different all-inclusives and the bracelets are pretty secure. They don't easily come off unless you take a pair of scissors to them. If you do in fact remove or lose them, I believe that it cost $20 to replace (as per one of Pookie's older posts). Each resort is color coded and sometimes has the name of the resort itself on them, so it would be easy to identify who is and who isn't a guest at that resort. I believe that MP will remove them for just the bride and groom for the wedding so that they don't mess up the photos, however they would be replaced after the wedding at no extra charge. It varies and some offer more perks than others. The catch is that you have to waste a whole morning or afternoon as these sessions could take up to 2-3 hours and they really pressure you to buy into the timeshare. Some are more pushy than others and at the end of the day it really doesn't end up being worth it to have to waste your time for a free massage or a free excursion. Hope this helps!

I would suggest if you are looking to hire an outside photographer they are it! Excellent package and amazing quality!! MP Photographers - we decided to go with hiring a destination wedding photographer, as I wanted specifics and detail - as well there are time limits with the onsite photographers. We purchased the Deluxe Wedding Package - this package included photography - seeing as we had hired photographers, I had the MP photographer attend our Welcome Dinner. He did 1 1/2 of shooting and they were awesome - he was wicked - we ended up receiving a photo album (the photographer selects and puts this together) and we purchased all of the negatives - SOOOO Nice! Wishing you the best of luck Laura Hale, Congrats - I can't wait to see your professional pics. We've hired Tamms as well and I'm super excited to be working with her and her husband as I've heard fantastic reviews from a number of ppl.
  11. Ladies, Does anyone happen to have a price list for the Moon Palace favors that they have pictured on their website? Also, does anyone know how much they charge to purchase freeze dried petals through them? Cheers, Myen
  12. I'm hoping to find someone that is willing to part with their cake topper. I just can't justify buying one brand new. Thanks
  13. So pretty. Would you happen to have the measurements?
  14. I love my wedding dress, but it doesn't define my waist at all. Here's a stock photo pic for reference: http://www.alfredsungbridals.com/sty...s/5243Clrg.jpg http://www.alfredsungbridals.com/sty...s/5243Flrg.jpg Do you think a dark sash across the narrow part of the waist would work? My only concern is the bodice gathers up diagonally at the right hip, so a sash might throw off the asymmetry. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance!
  15. Just did a litte bit of research and the options are: 1) Little Chapel of Flowers 2) Mon Bel Ami 3) Vegas (702) Weddings Any info is appreciated!
  16. FI and I are getting legally hitched in Las Vegas and want an intimate wedding ceremony for just the two of us. I think I've narrowed our choices down to either Little Chapel of Flowers, Valley of the fire or Flamingo. We want to keep the costs down as we are having a formal symbolic ceremony with with our friends and family in Mexico. Any advice is appreciated!
  17. Oh my goodness, it's been months since I last posted on here! I thought I would just pop in to ask a quick question - does the cake cutting have to take place immediately after the ceremony? From most of the pics I've seen, the cake has been cut at the gazebo. Can you make arrangements to have the cake cut at the reception?

  19. Ladies, I've found a shoe online that I am in love with. According to the website, the shoe is described as being silver, however in the pic it looks almost cream. My dress is ivory and I don't think a silver shoe would look good paired up against it. So my question is do you think the contrast wouldn't be too big of a deal, or alternatively does anyone know where I can find a similar style shoe but in ivory/white/cream. Here are pics of the shoe: And here's my dress: Alternatively, I also like this shoe as well, but it costs a ton more: Your thoughts?
  20. Excellent review Alex!! One question - do you have to use freeze dried petals at the MP? or can you use real (fresh) rose petals? Can't wait to see pics.
  21. My advice would be to locate the episode on slice.ca and then do a screen cap (alt+printscreen) and then print it off to show to your stylist. Hope that helps. On another note, I do recall that episode and the entire wedding was gorgeous, but did cost a small fortune!
  22. Thanks Ladies!! I'm not so much concerned about the distance from the resort, if it saves me the trouble of having to carry stuff down. Did they happen to sell fresh flowers at the Costco? I would love to be able to buy a whole bunch of roses and use the petals for our flowergirl to toss down the aisle. Our resort doesn't allow silk rose petals.
