Negril AI resort recommendations
TMclean replied to Dwbride?'s topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
There is also, the Riu Tropical Bay Palace. it is closed until December 2008 I think for full renovations. When it reopens it will be a Palace. There is also Beaches, which is a Sandals chain, but allows kids and families. -
Hand Sanitizers Damaging to Rings?
TMclean replied to Mystic's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I haven't heard anything about hand sanitizer, but my jeweler told me that chlorine is really bad for your rings. -
Final dress decision?
TMclean replied to pardisia's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I was just in Cuba and think that dress #1 suits Cuba so much more than dress #2 and I think that it looks great on you. However you should choose the dress you feel most comfortable in. Good Luck -

Uncomfortable Shoes
TMclean replied to *Casey*'s topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
From my experience generally the more expensive your shoes are the more comfortable they are. they are made better and more work goes into them. if you live in New York you should have tons of choices. depending on how much you want to spend, have you look at BCBG? they usually have good sales and their shoes are good quality and generally comfortable. or if you have some time you should go to Saks or some high end department store and wait for a sale. I got some Bruno Frisoni shoes at Holt Renfrew, which is similar to Saks in Canada for around $300 from $800. They are one of my most comfortable shoe. Good Luck. -
We booked a Jr. Suite at Tropical Bay, it is costing us around $2500 per person. However that includes our flights too.

Leather Luggage Tags
TMclean replied to TMclean's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Thank you I will check these site right away. -
I was thinking of giving every guest a leather luggage tag. Does anyone know a good on-line store that I could get cheap tags? I have around 44 to buy.

I also agree, traditionally your mother should not host your bridal shower. one of your bridesmaids should host it. The purpose of a bridal shower is to basically bless the bride with items she would need for her home. Traditionally you would not be living with your FH, so you would not have any house items. I am inviting everyone that was invited to the wedding, plus some co workers of my mother in-law and some friends of my mothers that we knew before sending out invitations that they could not make it. good luck with your shower

I won't have enough room in my luggage. I barely have enough room for my clothes, but the plastic container is a good idea, thanks

Hope this helps. Please continue to share information because I need it...thanks. Hi did you get this info from keneika? I have seen this price list of extras before, but then Keneika told me different prices, for example she told me it is 12 each for chair covers. I sometimes think they raise the prices when they feel like it. I hope these prices stay the same for 09, since this is for 08. if you hear anything else make sure you post it. I will do the same. thanks for the info.

Just wanted to know how people travelled with their flowers from home to destination. and want to know if I should bring them on as a carry on.

KBurton, I think you have to keep in mind of what is most important to you and your FH. For me it was to get married, and we could not afford to have a wedding at home that I would be happy with, that is why we chose a destination wedding. of course I wanted everyone to attend our wedding, but in the end I was not going to cancel my plans because of other people not being able to make it. you can't please everyone. for me, the most important person to make it was my FH. I know this can sound harsh, but weddings can get so stressful and I think that you should not have to go in debt for a wedding at home because people can't make it to a destination wedding. so just do what you want and stop worry about other people, from my experience so far of planing, if you listen to everyone, you will brake down. Good Luck.

Indigo, I could open the attachments today, so you don't have to send them to me, thanks anyways.

My WC quoted me about 75 for makeup and 80 for hair, for an outside resort salon. The Riu doesn't have prices for their services so i have nothing to compare it to. Thanks! Juniorbaby01, did you book with either Queen Bee or Ultimate Spa? if so how was your makeup? I would love to find out if they are good.

She also sent info on extras (i.e. renting the disco, private reception, etc). I have attached the docs she sent me below. I still haven't received pics of the Gazebo or beach area yet. I will try calling her today to see if I can get pics. I also ask that she clarify the cost of chair covers with bows. Still no answer on that either. But, I will be patient because I understand that they probably have their hands full with the grand opening. When I get more info I will be sure to update everyone. Hi I can't open your attachements could you e-mail me the attachements and the fact sheet that Keneika sent you. [email protected]
