I want to go with a sit down dinner as well which I was told you can do it on the terrace but not on the beach. I have not made up my mind on my reception location.

I have actually decided to have my wedding in the Dominican Republic. When I visited the Westin a few weeks ago Karina told me that they were in the process of hiring another person just to handle weddings. As it is now they all do some weddings and some corporate events. The Westin is gorgeous. I did receive a proposal from the Westin and I am happy to share that information if you would like.

I want to have the ceremony on the beach but I have not decided on a location for the reception. Where are you having your reception? I am a bit frustrated due to the lack of flights to the DR. I am in Dallas and we will have people from Dallas traveling along with several others in Texas (smaller cities) and from California. The flight will be a beating for our guests who do not live near a large city or who are coming from CA. I am having difficulty finding a location that is reasonably priced, and somewhat easy to travel. I like the DR but I think I may need to look into the Riviera Maya a bit more…isn’t this suppose to be fun!!!

Hi Ladies, I am seriously considering booking with PPR and I wanted to see if any of you all used a wedding planner? The resort looks amazing!! I want to get married in May 2009 and dates are filling up quick. I am very busy with work and I just do not think I am going to have time to take a visit within the next few months. I have a bit of anxiety booking a place sight unseen. Any input to alleviate my anxiety would be much appreciated! Jennifer

Kalesha, I am confused, does Teresa work for Dreams or is she an outside TA? Excuse my ignorance but I am assuming there is a benefit by working with a travel agent? Are they able to provide a better rate than expedia or travelocity est.? One more question, are you doing a package with Dreams or are you contracting some of your own vendors? I am headed to Cabo this weekend to check out the Hilton, Westin and Dreams. The more reserach and the more I read on this site I really think I am leaning towards Dreams. I do have a few questions. Do you really need a planner for day of the wedding if I choose to have my wedding at Dreams. I have read where a few of you all used an outside WC and others used the WC at Dreams. I would welcome any feedback, thoughts, est. I have also seen some information on a lady named Tammy to book reservations. Who is she and what is the benefit of going through her? I am very new to the site and appreciate all of the information that is posted. It is very helpful.
