I love your dress! And if I were you, I would try make the BM dresses work around your dress--not the other way around (though it is very nice of you to do so!). I'm not very good with colors, but it seems like a pale blue/pool might look nice for the BMs.

Hi girls! I need help finding flower girl dresses appropriate for a beach wedding. I actually have 3 flower girls, two are aged 11 and the other one is 8 years old. I was thinking of something along the lines of a sundress with flowers on it... though that's not set in stone. My color is cobalt blue, with orange as my accent color. I've had a hard time finding anything, because it is winter (not exactly dress season), but the wedding is in May, so I don't want to wait until Spring to start shopping. So, if you guys know of any particular dresses or reputable websites, let me know!

My BM dresses are the same color blue -- I love it because it is so cheerful, blue looks good on every one, and it contrasts beautifully with the ocean! My colors are blue, orange, and yellow; but I think your colors are beautiful too!

Hi Girls! I just wanted to share my story. I spent months trying to find the perfect place to get married on a budget. I hadn't considered the Caymans because I always heard it was expensive. However, while it is an expensive island in general, wedding stuff is actually incredibly affordable! This is because the Cayman tourism board is trying to market themselves as destination wedding island, so there are a lot of good deals. For instance, my ceremony & reception (incl. photographer, flowers, alcohol, dj, etc.) should be around $8000 (for about 35 guests), and it's at one of the nicest restaurants on the island. Other pluses of the island is that it is safe, a very short flight, and clean. Food & hotels ARE expensive though, but if you do enough research, you can get around some of that. Anyways, I just wanted to share that, because I remember how frustrated I was trying to find an affordable destination, and I hope this may help other brides. Feel free to PM if you have any questions!

RE: Signed, Sealed Delivered Song
I'm thinking of using this song too--but for our introduction or signing of the documents part. I think it will be very cute!

Hello! I am considering getting married in the Grand Caymans, and I was wondering if there are any other Grand Cayman brides around? I've been in talks with the Grand Old House; it seems like a lovely and affordable venue. Anyways, I would love to chat with other GC brides! Let me know if you are out there!!!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking... It seems ridiculous to put down a $500 down payment on something that has not been put down in writing and signed... But I wasn't sure if that's just the way things "worked" with weddings.. They did send me info on how much certain things costs, but even with that, I still have no idea how much the total will be, especially considering there is all this small writing on the bottom about service and gratuity fees. I just wanted to make sure I was not out of line by asking that they draft up a written proposal first!

The Grand Old House in the Grand Caymans. It has fantastic reviews, so maybe I shouldn't be so worried, but I am!

Okay, I couldn't figure out which forum to post this in, so I just picked this one. I apologize if it is in the wrong one!! I'm trying to pick a venue, and I finally found one (I think!). I asked for a proposal (so that I'll know how much everything is going to cost), but they said they can't send me one until I put down a deposit. Is this normal? I know absolutely nothing about planning weddings. Also, they have a package deal, and I asked which vendors they used, and they said they can't tell me because it's confidential. Is this normal too? I really want to make sure that, for example, they're using a good photographer. Neither of these thing seem normal to me, but I wanted to see what you guys think. Thanks!!

Definitely Caneel. They are around the same price, but Caneel has 7 beautiful beaches (considered some of the best on St. John), while the Westin has only a man-made beach. Also, the Westin is oriented more towards families, so there will be lots of children. So, unless you're bringing kids, I'd pick the romantic Caneel Bay!
PS I asked my Wedding planner about that low price at the Westin--they got that rate only because it is smackdab in the middle of hurricane season combined with a group rate. I was quoted a group rate of $346 in June.

Hello everyone! I've been researching DW for over a month now and have gotten frustrated by the complexities of it all--I thought it was supposed to be simple! ha, ha! Because of this, I'm considering a Sandals or Beaches wedding, but all their packages seem to just be for 2 people. I'll probably have 30 to 40 guests. So, does any one know the estimated cost of having a private reception with dinner, open bar, and a DJ? Since all my guests would theoretically be paying the resort's all-inclusive price, it seems like this should be inexpensive... Any info would be so great! Also, any recommendations on which resort would be best would be helpful (though I know that Jamaica is probably my last choice). Thanks so much girls!!!

Hi Kate! Yup, same Bridget! Thanks again; you have been incredibly helpful!!!!

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement and/or advice! I already feel better!

Hello! I'm new here, and completely lost on planning a destination wedding. My first choice is St. Johns, but now I'm not sure if it is affordable for me. I want to have a "real" wedding--a ceremony and a reception with food, music, alcohol & dancing, but everywhere I've seen is $100/pp for a reception. Any advice would be awesome!

My name is Bridget and I guess I'm technically a "newbie" though I've been lurking on this forum for about a week. I've been researching for a place to have my destination wedding for 3 weeks and it's been incredibly frustrating. It seems like the only way that it is affordable is if you just elope, but I'm wanting a wedding with guests, a reception and dancing! My first choice is the Virgin Islands (due to the beauty & simplicity of getting married there), but I've had absolutely no luck finding a place within my price range (under $10,000 for the whole thing--ceremony, reception, decor, dj, etc.). Any advice would be so greatly appreciated!!!! So, in conclusion, I can't list my wedding location & date yet because I have no idea.
